Masculine Layouts with Einat Kessler

Hey crafty friends Einat Kessler here with some masculine layouts for your inspiration!
My first layout lets the chipboard speak out loud. The layout is all about a day in the science museum with my two boys.

Creating a masculine layout can sometimes be challenging, but I look at it like any other layout. I try to use more masculine colors and chipboards and not make its look too feminine with flowers or cutesy embellishments.

Having said that...my other layout has plenty of flowers on it. Who says you can't add flowers to a boys' layout? You can! I just try to keep them in the more masculine color scheme and avoid pink :)

Love Story with Angelica

Hello friends! I'm happy to be here today to share three layouts I created using the beautiful new collection, Love Story. This is collection is so pretty and versatile. Some of the papers have vibrant bold colors and others are more subtle. Good for those shabby pages!

My first layout is based on the February Sketch. I used the lightest paper, The Grand Ball, for the base of my page and the Calling Card paper. I did some masking and used the little stars on the Forever Stamp for some texture.

I painted the Boston Lattice, Love, and Heart Set with heavy gesso. For the negative part of the heart I stamped with the Texture Stamp 1 when the gesso was still wet. It left a nice impression of the honeycombs. Once all the pieces were dry I did some misting for some color.

For my second page I want to use a whole different color combo from the sketch page. The reds and greens in the True Harmony paper is gorgeous.  I also used the Twenty One paper for layering. I painted the Brick Panel chippy with gesso and stucco paste. Then rubbed some ink on the raised texture.

For the Cherish chippy I just painted it red and added glitter so it can pop from the page.

Finally, for my third page I've been waiting for the perfect time to use the Brown Eyed Girl Chippy.
The colors that I had in mind worked just right with the Sweet Song, Concerto, and Calling Card papers. I cut a bit off the end of the Beaded Strings chippy.

Thank you for visiting! I hope that I've inspired you!

Delight & Wonder with "Love Story" Collection- By Keren Tamir

"Delight"

I created this layout using the new Blue Fern Studios "Love Story" collection.
I really love how all the Blue Fern Studios collections, including this one, have papers that are versatile for any kind of layout. For example, I used the paper "The Grand Ball" from the collection for a beach themed layout, while the other paper below "Calling Cards" was used for a winter themed layout.

I framed my photo in the new postage frame chipboard. I inked them in metallic chalk ink and then created a stamped pattern on them using the new Forever Textured Stamp.

I used the Delight chipboard title from the "Delight Set" for this layout. I also inked it in the same metallic ink and then glued some glass beads on it.

"Wonder"

This is a winter themed layout using the "Love Story" collection. I used the back of the "Calling Cards" paper as a background as it matched perfectly with the soft colours of the photo.

I framed the photo in the new snowflake chipboard frame which was covered in snow accents paste. I also used some of the chipboard winter flakes and covered them with the snow accents paste, too.

Finally I used the "Wonder" title from the delight chipboard set. It was also covered in snow accents but it was inked in light pink pastel chalk ink to match the flowers.

Thank you so much for visiting the Blue Fern Studios Blog today!!
Have a wonderful day!

From our Creative Team

We have a special treat for you today.   Our very talented Creative Team has been busy playing with our Love Story collection.  Each one has added their own special touches and used the collection in such a unique way.

Ulrika Blomfelt has created such a beautiful background using various papers from our
Love Story collection to hold this special black and white photo.
She then finished the layout with our "Key to My Heart" chipboard title,
layered over the Ornate Frame chipboard.

Bente Fagerberg, also using the Love Story collection, has created this very elegant layout.
Stamps from the Love Story collection have been used to add a beautiful frame around the edge
of the layout, and some visual interest behind the chipboard dangle.

Look at the awesome texture that can be achieved with our chipboard!

Kim Price shows how absolutely striking a black background can be.
The Amazing Heart paper from the collection has a beautiful border that frames the layout.
The collection also has lots of images perfect for fussy cutting!

Melinda Thompson tells her own love story in a soft, light and airy way, choosing softer paper
from the collection.   Her chipboard pieces were painted white, with small amounts
of color added.  She has used some of our new stamps to add a border accent.

Thanks for spending some time with us today.  Let us know what inspires you!

Two layouts with the Love Story collection by Marie-Josée

Hello all!

I am happy to be back today to share two layouts made with the latest Blue Fern Studios paper collection, Love Story, as well as my sketch layout. Here they are!

"Famille" layout

For this layout, I used white cardstock as a base. Then, I tore the Grand Ball paper from the Love Story collection in two and used each side on my layout. I also added a piece of the Concerto paper at the top.

Here's a little trick: on this layout, I used two different chipboard that I cut in half.

Here's the Britannia Flourish (above and under my picture):

The title, Famille, is from the French Words set:

And here is the Wild Flourish Bundle (on the left and right sides of my picture):

"Love Story" layout

Here's my second layout with the Love Story collection. I used the Twenty One paper for my background. As you can see, I used the "Love Story" words from the strip of paper we always cut and toss to create my title.

To frame my picture, I used a piece of the Lace Rounds set. Under it is the Symphony border. Both were altered with black spray ink

I cut a small piece of the Symphony border to put on the left side of my layout.

Sketch layout

And finally, here's the layout I created for the sketch challenge back at the beginning of February.

I used a paper from the Ombre Dreams collection to create my background, the Ginger's Dream paper.

Then, under my picture, I added the Boston Lattice chipboard. I altered it with gesso.

Then, on the left, I used the Fancy Signage chipboard, also altered with gesso, and on top, the word Amour from the French Words set.
