September Shares by Nicole Doiron

Hello everyone!

Nicole here today to share with you some Blue Fern Studios projects,
utilizing a variety of collections as well as chipboard, flowers and Imagine Ink mediums.

Let's start with this very romantic wedding page created on a background
of Love Story "Cotillion" and Timeless "Couture" papers.

I chose to use the title Romantic Moment on which I created an ombre effect using Garnet and Magenta embossing powders as well as a little white paint.  The title was added on layers of fussy cut flowers, pieces of Floral Lattice Bits and more paper flowers from the BFS collections.

I created a rustic look on the Everlasting Dangles by combing a mixture of Garnet embossing powder, black crackle paint, white acrylic paint and some distress stains.  The beautiful key, covered in 14Karat,
is from the Vintage Keys set.

Here's a closeup of all the beautiful BFS flowers I used.  What an elegant bouquet!

And this is the picture that inspired this whole page, of my friend Nathalie and her beau on their wedding day... surely a romantic moment to cherish forever!

Patterned Papers: Love Story (Cotillion), Timeless (Couture),
Tranquility (Hushed), Sanctuary (Calling Cards)
Chipboard: Everlasting Dangles, Romantic Moment title, Vintage Keys, Floral Lattice Bits
Flowers: Seaside Lilies, Attic Charm Daisies, Tranquil Blooms, Attic Charm Glitter Roses
Imagine Ink: Embossing Powders (Garnet, 14Karat, Magenta)

My second project is as sweet and shabby chic as the first one was romantic and elegant.

I wanted to create a very girly page with bright colors over a pale classy background.
I created my background by ripping pieces of the Tranquility "Jubilation" paper and apposed them on top of the pink Courtship Lane "Town Gossip".  I cut out squares out of the wood grain pattern from the "Jubilation" papers and made a vertical collage combined with white corrugated cardboard and lots of flowers.

You can see here a Brigitte Butterfly that I cut in 2.  It was covered with Bonny Blue embossing powder
with a dash of Blue Diamond glitter.

The other half of the butterfly is right here amidst flowers, including a very lovely pink Attic Charm daisy.  You can see here that I did some stamping throughout my page.

The focal point of my page is this gorgeous piece from the Jubilation Corners set.
It was covered in Bonny Blue, sprinkled with Blue Diamond glitter and dabbed with white paint.

On my last close-up shot, you can see the star of this layout, my pretty and adorable niece Ella, as well as the title chosen which I created by combining the word Adorable from the French Words set and a piece left over from another title I had cut out in the past. I treated it with a mix of Mushroom, Ginger and Nutmeg powders.  You can also see here a sneak of the Bits of Honey covered in Fuschia.

My 3rd layout was inspired by the Blue Fern Studios September mood board challenge.

As already described during the challenge reveal...
You may find it strange that despite the mood board giving off a very Summery feel, I was inspired to create a layout all about Autumn.  At the same time, I was incline to show how versatile this mood board is.

I looked through my stash of Blue Fern Studios papers and I found that some of the Autumn Anthology collection went perfectly with the colour palette. I was mainly inspired by the peachy hues which reminded me of Fall leaves and I had just the right picture for it!

I wanted to make my page extra romantic and elegant just as the mood board images, and I find that the Gazebo chipboard piece gives it a warm inviting atmosphere.  I covered it with a mixture of Chili Powder and Tangerine embossing powder after adding a thick layer of gesso and paste.

I made sure to add lots of flowers including a peach Attic Charm Daisy which if my favorite of the constantly growing collection of BFS flowers.

And to soften my whole page to coordinate with the softness of the board, I dabbed some white paint on my papers, flowers, chipboard and embellishments to give it a whitewash effect... inspired by the sea!

August inspiration by Karolina

Hello everyone! Karolina here.
Today I'm so glad to be sharing with you two creations - a layout using the fabulous new collection Seaside Cottages mixed with another collections and a canvas in a very sweet style using Attic Charm collection. My projects are always very reach and I'm using so many embellishments, layers, flowers, textures and color touches I really like this effect, because then you can read projects using your hands. If you know what I mean Hope you like it!

Fascination

Firstly my layout. I have used one of my favourite combination of colors - turquoise, blue, yellow and brown. It looks amazing, isn't it? On a base paper I chose a beautiful paper from Seaside Cottage collection and then I have built a composition with using differents turquoise-blue shades papers from few collections of Blue Fern Studios. I added also black accents to make my project more contrasty. Then I added some embellishments and flowers of course (a turquoise flower is my handmade flower! I'm proud of myself :D)

Papers: Seaside Cottage - Voyage, Regalia; Sanstuary - Bidsong melody; Serendipity - Calling Cards; Love story - Concerto; Paisley&Vine - Bohemian, Nature; Attic Charm - Curio, Sping Posy
Chipboards: Serendipity words 2, Quilted Page Panel
Glitter: Caribbean, Peacock, Burnt Cooper
Sweet

My second projects is a canvas with my sweet goddaughter Sophie. She is soo cute! But I have to admit that she is very naughty girl ;)
Now Sophie is 2 years old, but I really like this photo. I prepared very reach and high composition using papers from Attic Charm collection. There you can find so many pink and another soft colors papers. I added so many flowers, some embellishents and chipboards of course! To color my title and background chipboard pieces I have used embossing powders - fuhsia and petal and some pieces I left in natural color of chipboard.

Papers:  Attic Charm - Mercantile, Foyer, Calling Cards
Chipboards: Arrow words, Directions, Quatrefoil Panel, Leafy Page accents
Embossing powders: Fuhsia, Petal

August Social Media Update and YOU!

Hello, hello!

Sandi here with you today sharing some Blue Fern Studios awesomeness that we found on Instagram.

This month I've taken some screen shots directly from Instagram. We are trying to really drive home the need to be there! It's a quick, easy and fun way to see some gorgeous creations. And to basically create your own gallery there. You can also upload to Facebook and a Twitter from there, as well as pin your projects to Pinterest!

Please tag us there so that we can find you! Also, do the same when visiting Pinterest. Did you know that we have a full Pinterest board that features YOUR creations? We sure do!

First up, we're sharing this gorgeous layout by Emi Nakagawa using the Serendipity paper collection. She's added some simple elements and kept the project light and airy. You can  visit her blog at http://ameblo.jp/nikopiyo/ and obviously her Instagram at @sb.and.r.emi.

We love this creation by Rika Hayama! What an unique way to use the Gazebo image from Autumn Anthology! It looks gorgeous against the woodgrain and with the mix of color and black and white photos. Rika blogs HERE

Because we have been focusing on Seaside Cottage over the past few weeks, I wanted to include this fussy cut layout from Mikamika of Japan. Her floral cluster, and fussy cutting create such a beautiful scene alongside her photos. Her Instagram is @blanche0101.

Look at this adorable little mailbox creation from Naomi Chang using our older Love Story collection. I almost held this over until next month but it is so unique, I was anxious to share. Naomi blogs HERE
Off the Page creations using Blue Fern Studios are always eye-catching!

We have another new feature this month by Shinko who blogs at shinkoblog.blogspot.com. Her paper folding and great design create a truly gorgeous piece using our Attic Charm collection and chipboard.

I'm sneaking in one last creation by Canadian Laura Gilhuly using our chipboard and the awesome new Seaside Cottage collection. She has lots of great photos of her boys at the beach and does a beautiful job of using flowers on her masculine pages! Great work, Laura!

That's it for today!
I hope you've found something to inspire you!
Also, fingers crossed that all photo credits are correct.
Please let us know if they are not.

Inspiration from our Creative Team

Welcome to the middle of February.  We hope you had a sweet Valentine's Day.

We have loved seeing how our Creative Team has used all the new Blue Fern Studios products this year.  Today we would like to share some additional projects from our great team.  In honor of Valentine's Day, our theme this week is pink and/or anything love related.   You are sure to find some sweet inspiration!

First up is this frosty, wintery layout created by Keren Tamir using several Blue Fern snowflake chipboard pieces that she has painted white.  The title is from our "Cool, Calm, Chill" word titles set.
What a gorgeous layout Keren has created!

Like Keren, Wilma Voermans's layout shows how a piece of basic white cardstock can be transformed into a work of magic.  The finishing touch is the "Blushing Beauty" chipboard title.

Marie-Josee Hamel created this beautiful layout using our Blush Collection.
The photo is perfectly framed with a couple of our chipboard borders.

A collection of love-inspired layouts just wouldn't be complete without a baby.
Sandi Clarkson also chose to use the Blush collection for this super-sweet layout.

If you miss seeing two-page layouts, then this one is for you.  Nicole Doiron has created two very romantic wedding layouts using the Blush paper collection, along with our Best Day Ever chipboard title, and the Romantic Page Dangles.

Although Bec Genet's layout isn't pink, it certainly is elegant with tones of gold and black, and fits in nicely with our love theme.  The paper is from our Autumn Anthology and Love Story collections.  The "Love This" title is part of the "Arrow Words" chipboard set which also contains 7 other titles.

Our final project today is for those of you who love Artist's Trading Cards (ATC).   Renea Harrison has one for you that she created using the Timeless collection.  The shabby hearts are accented with Blue Fern's Mystic Plum embossing powder.  Who wouldn't love to receive this beauty?

We hope you have found some inspiration to use the next time you create!
