Two more layouts by Wilma with the beautiful Autumn Anthology collection .

For my first layout we have to go back in time ........ 40 years !
I used the original picture of young me, I become vintage :)
The background paper is one of the Autumn Anthology collection, Gazebo
To create more interest I use the circuitry chipboard as my mask.
I had to spray it anyway with gesso for another layout.
So now I had a white chipboard piece and textured background at the same time.

Behind the picture I used the Wild Flourish frame .
And one bird from the Little Birds set.
All I did was adding some thin gelmedium to keep the original natural chipboard color.

I cut a few paper flowers from another paper out of the collection.
Glued it behind my flower.

My next layout , also made with the Autumn Anthology collection.
The picture is about 25 years old, bad quality .
But thats what we had than....and we should just use them on our layouts.

For the background paper I used the Parfumerie paper.
I toned down with gesso, leaving out some of the beautiful background pattern.
I pushed  a embossingfolder in the wet gesso to get the checkered texture.
Than I colored the background with 3 of the new mists:

The chipboard ( checker bits ) was inked up with a chipboard kind of color .
Than I embossed here and there with one of the new embossingpowders : petal
To tone down,  again some mixed media ink.

New are the glitters and embossingpowders at Blue fern Studios.
Just when I was finishing this layout my package arrived !
So I added some on my flower.
A little glitter never hurts :)
I used the Pyrite , a beautiful goldtone.

Thank you for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog.
Have a great week

Your October Inspiration with Patter

Well, it's the 21st which means it's my turn to share some Blue Fern Studios inspiration. For my creations this month, I created a card and a layout for you along with a layout using the October sketch. Let's look at each of them.

Sweet
When our identical triplets daughters turned 20 this past September, two of them were away at college. Celebrating a milestone with them away from home was hard. So, I enlisted the help of one of their friends at school to have some special surprises waiting for them on their special day. In order to thank her for her help, I created this card and included a gift card.

I started with the new Blue Fern Studios Montage papers (Now and Then and Fairyland). Then I added a sentiment from the Arrow Words chipboard set.

To color the chipboard, I lightly tapped on some black gesso. You can still see some bits of the natural chipboard showing through. I wanted it to have a more textured look instead of painted just black so I was able to achieve that by painting it in this way.

Cherish
For this 8 1/2 x 11 layout, I started with the new Blue Fern Studios Mercantile paper. I toned down the background just a bit by putting down a thin layer of gesso. Once dry, I added some stenciling and Gelatos for color.

I used two chipboard pieces from Blue Fern StudiosAdore, Love, and Cherish that I used for the title, and the Wild Flourish Frame. To cover the title chipboard, I just covered in black gesso. To cover the flourish chipboard, I first coated it in gesso. While the gesso was wet, I sprinkled on two different colors of embossing powder.

Memories
This photo is very precious to me. This is my daughter that went on an 8-week ministry trip this summer as lead guitarist for a worship band called "The Difference." I am so proud of her. I used this photo of her playing during chapel at school to create this 8 1/2 x 11 layout.

I used the new Blue Fern Studios Montage paper line. The Icon Set One chipboard set was perfect for this layout as it has a guitar in the set. I covered the guitar with Inka Gold graphite. Then I added some smudges of Gelatos in black licorice. I think it gave the guitar a nice effect. I also wrapped some twine around the top of the guitar for "strings."

For the rest of the layout, I used the Chunky Words chipboard set for the title. I covered that chipboard piece in Gelatos and Shimmerz Dazzelerz.

Video Education. Canvas with Tiffany Solorio

Hi everyone. Tiffany here. I have a canvas to share with you. Since this is my very first post I will introduce myself first.

My name is Tiffany. (mammatiffy). I am 29 and I live in Nevada with my wonderful husband and 2 kids. My son is 7 and my daughter is 3. I started crafting about 5 years ago. I was introduced to scrapbooking and card making through a mom in one of the playgroups I was in for my son. I instantly was obsessed. As time went by I learned more and more and was always intrigued by new techniques. 5 years later here I am. I enjoy creating and getting messy.
I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful team and I hope I inspire you as much as so many has inspired me.

Here is my completed canvas

Mixed Media Layout Inspiration by Keren Tamir

Keren here and its my turn again on the Blue Fern Studios blog. I have 3 Mixed Media Layouts for you today.

Hope they inspire you!!

"You Are My Happiness"

This is the first layout I created using the Ombré Dreams Ginger's Dream Paper as a background.

I used the Wild Flourish Frame to frame my photo. I altered it by adding texture over it using textured paste and a patterned Stencil. Then I sprayed it with two different Color Bloom Sprays: Sorbet, Vintage Coal and Lime Wedge

I added the same texture and colours to the background and then stamped some branches and birds using black archival ink.

Finally I added some matching flowers, a title using the word Happiness from the Good Vibes set  and Voila!!

"You are perfect just as you are"

This is my second creation this month for Blue Fern Studios

I created a mixed media layout using the Ombre Dreams Chalotte's Dream paper as the background.

I wanted to hide the purple side of the paper as much as I could because I wanted to create a masculine layout. First I primed the purple side of the paper with clear gesso. Then, I created lots of texture in the background using a Stone Wall  stencil and some Textured paste. Finally, I sprayed it with two  Color Bloom Sprays: Cobalt and Precious Stone. I let the spray drip down the page to cover as much of the purple as possible.

I cut the Ups and Down panel Blue Fern Studio Chipboard. I cut it unevenly to create movement on the page. Then I embossed it with white and black embossing powder. Finally I inked the edges with black coal fluid chalk ink.

I built some layers over the chipboard panel and added some matching flowers and embellishments around the photo.

Finally I added a title in the corner using the Perfect chipboard word from the Chunky Word Set. I also embossed it with black embossing powder.
I also added some journaling along the side of the page using both sticker words and my own writing.

"I Love You"

This was my layout created for the new sketch challenge this month. The August's sketch was amazing as always.
We hope you get to play with us!!!

I love it when my kids pose together for me and on that rare occasion I snap the camera to get this cute picture of them. I used it as the centre of my layout.

I used the Blue Fern Studios Ombre Dreams Collection, Flutterbird chipboard dangles, a small camera from the picture perfect chipboard set and the word Love from the good vibes chipboard set.

Well that's all for today!!
Hope you enjoyed my creations

Have a wonderful day!!

Pastel Pages - With Kelly Foster

Good morning, Kelly here!
This month I want to share with you two soft, pastel colored pages. I usually reach for the bright colors but these two are a bit more subdued, and I like it!

"Sweet"

First, let me introduce you to the newest addition to my family, Oliver John. He arrived on July 7th and was just 5 days old in this photo - my first layout with him on it :)
The Blue Fern Garden papers made the perfect soft background for a baby boy page. For the main paper I used the "Love Letters" paper, and for my layers I cut bits from many of my scraps of the other papers. I kept things pretty simple...lots of white space, and just the right amount of texture thanks to the "Mini Ring Things" chipboard pieces I layered here and there. These pieces were given just a gentle uneven coat of white chalk ink.

I also added one of the pretty "Layering Stems" to complete my cluster. I love this piece!

"Perfect Moment"

This next page I used the gorgeous "Charlotte's Dream" paper from the Ombre Dreams collection. I love the pretty floral/lace texture of this paper! My background is a mix of watercolors, Gelatos, and stamping.

To frame my photo and add movement I used the Wild Flourish Frame, which I cut in two and placed above/below the photo. This piece was primed with gesso and then painted using Gelatos and watercolors.

Thank you so very much for having a look at my projects today! See you next month!!
