Frolic, Timeless and Autumn Anthology with Karine

Hi there,

It's my turn today on the blog. I have three layouts to share with you today. I was hoping to share some projects with the newest collection, but I haven't received my box yet, so I'll have to wait until next month.

It doesn't matter, I still love older collections.

Giggle

My first layout features the beautiful Frolic collection. I used the Friendship paper. I just can't believe how cute those little birds are. I think I have 6 or 7 copies of this paper! I love it!

I used modeling paste and a stencil to add texture on my background. Then, I glued thorn doilies with gel medium. Over that, I adhered dry wall tape. When everything was dry, I added my colors.

I layered parts of the Damask Panel underneath my picture and my flowers. I covered it with Snow embossing powder. While the powder was still hot, I sprinkled a little bit of Bonny Blue embossing powder and melted it again.

My title piece, part of the «Funny, Giggle, Smile» set, received the same treatment. I adhered it on top of my picture.

Famille

My second layout is more subtle. I used the Song paper from the Timeless collection. I love its colors.

My composition is based on the Aloha Flowers chipboard, which I painted with white gesso and covered with mist.

I also added the Chelsea Vines, that were coloured the same way.

You can see, in the background, that I used the Vintage Edges stamp with brown ink to add texture to my layout.

My title piece, part of the French Words set, was also altered with mists over gesso.

Special

My last layout features on of my favorite pictures of my daughter. Isn't she cute?

My background paper is called Newsworthy and it is from the Autumn Anthology collection. I chose it for its neutral colors. I added a little bit of color to the bird above, to help him match my layout. A light touch of white gesso helped to see all the details.

My layout is based on the Chelsea Medallion chipboard piece. I LOVE this piece! I embossed it with three colors of embossing powder: Fern, Cerulean and Azure.

To add a bit of interest below my picture, I layered two pieces of the Leafy Page Accents over my medallion. They were embossed with the same three powders as well as white gesso.

Lastly, my title piece, part of the «Perfect, Adorable, Special», was left raw, as it helped to bring the background color back into the layout.

I hope my layouts inspired you. Have a nice crafty day,

Karine

February Inspiration by Debbie

Hi everyone!  Debbie here with you today.  I have 3 layouts to share that I created with the Blush and Timeless paper collections, along another one featuring the new Serendipity paper collection.  Lots to share so this will be a lengthy post.  The new Serendipity collection was introduced  last month along with new chipboard, glitter and embossing powders.  Here is what I created with the Serendipity papers.
Serendipity is a gorgeous collection!  Love the vintage look, details and colors.  Here I've used the Chronicle paper for my background.  I applied some masking, misting using the Imagine Ink Sky and Winter Mint Mists along with the Arcadia Textures and Romantic Accent stamps and paint splatters. I used the Reminisce and Calling Cards papers to layer under my photo.

I used two chipboard pieces here.  The new Swan Gate along with the Swirly Circle.  Both were embossed with Oatmeal and Sea Mist embossing powders.  I then randomly added some paint and micro beads.

My title Dream Big is from The Optimist Word Set.  I first painted the words and then sprinkled on some Cranberry Glitter.

The next layout was created using the Blush Collection.
The background paper is Key To My Heart.  The colors and details on the paper are beautiful! I applied masking, misting with Imagine Ink Cotton Candy Mist, stamping with Romantic Accents and Texture Circles to the background.  Layers of papers under my photo include Callings Cards and Cupids Folly.

The True Romance chipboard was embossed with a mixture of  Pearl and Cotton Candy embossing powders, then lightly stamped with the Romantic Accents stamp.  I used the Floral Heats chipboard which I cut apart and embossed with Cotton Candy and added pink paint.  The flowers from the Floral Hearts are placed randomly on my layout.

Both sides of the photo include pieces of the Floral Hearts chipboard and Turkish Bits chipboard which I colored with gelatos and misted with Imagine Ink Persimmon Mist.

Projects with Angelica

Hello everyone! I'm sharing today my final projects as a BFS design team member. It's been an amazing and fun year!  I'm so honored to have had the opportunity to design for such a wonderful company!

I made this layout using the Autumn Anthology collection.  I started with the Newsworthy paper as my background and layered then Penmanship on top.  I painted the Large Roman Clock, Damask Panel and Spring branch chipboard pieces with gesso. Then lightly misted with the Leaf mist.

For this layout I used the Frolic collection. Such pretty soft colors!  I did some layering with the Secretary paper. Then used some pieces of the Calling Cards and Dans de Jardin. Again, I painted the Floral Lattice Bits, Timeless Floral Corner, and Petite Windows with gesso. They sprayed using the leaf and Cotton Candy Mist.

So, I've used up all of the Vintage Christmas Papers that were sent to me! I decided to make a quick card using a scrap piece of the Wonderland paper.  This is my take on the sketch using the Gingerbread House Chipboard. I used a thick uneven coat of Heavy Gesso and sprinkled colored glitter glass while still wet.

Thanks for stopping by during this busy holiday season!

Girl time - by Zanka

Hey there!
Rummaging through my DT supplies from BFS, I found one more paper from Ombre dreams, which is a fanstastic collection to pick up at this time of the year, when the pictures are full of light. Well, at least usually they are-these days seem to be exceptionally cold and rainy in our region.
Nevertheles we managed to catch few rays of sunshine and sunglasses were very much needed :)
From the chipboard shelf I picked Turkish bits and fragments of Blue Fern frame. Both sets contain a lot of material, you can use pieces and they last forever. I've given them some treatment with embossing powder and paints.

 A close up:
Supplies: papers - Ombre dreams, Deja vu. Stamp - Love story 2 (Adore), Chipboards - Turkish bits, Blue Fern Frame.

For my second June project I picked totally different mood, an elegant vintage page created with a combo of Deja vu and Sanctuary. The border between the two papers is enhanced with a piece of damask chipboard.

As you can see, here I'm using not only the chipboards but also the loose bits from some sets. I primed them with gesso and coloured with watercolours, matching the colour scheme of the papers.
Supplies: papers: Sanctuary, Deja vu, stamps - Love story, chipboards - Turkish bits, Damask panel, Mini flourishes.
Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate Love - with Love Story

Hello!
My Love Story collection is cut and used to the very last pieces. What a fabulous collections, isn't it?
For my post tpday I have prepared two cards and a layout.
The cards were made for the wedding anniversary occasion and of course Love Story was a perfect choice:

Chipboards: Damask panel, Marrakesh panel, Organic vine

Chipboards: Tattered Diamond Bits, Roman Clock Set small

For my layout I have used a diagonal composition, creating the flow across the page. Combining chipboards, lace, flowers and paper pieces give a nice variation for the eye.

Chipboards: Folkart frame, Damask panel, Memory frames (1 piece of the set)
Stamps: Forever

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
With love from Zaneta aka Zanka

January Projects by Ulrika Blomfelt

Hello!

I´m so happy to share my first work as a Blue Fern Studios designer with you all!

My name is Ulrika Blomfelt aka LillBlomman and I´m a swedish girl who loves all about scrapbooking! I started scrapbooking in April 2006. I live in a cute yellow house next to the woods and still close to our capital Stockholm. Here I live with my very loved hubbie our for a long time longed for son Viggo and a very cute but a bit crazy dog. I became a mother late in life and after that my scrapbooking ment even more for me! You will see lot of Viggo in my work because he´s the one I scrap most about.

I love to create in all scrapbooking gengres! It´s too fun to just choose one of them. I love to pick out just the right color combination for a project and then continue my work. My style is a romantic mixed-media style but it can change from one project to another. I love to try new techniques and try to develop in my art all the time. I´m so proud to been asked to design for this company and thrilled to work with all amazing supplies. I´m looking forward to design with all the amazing and talented girls and spread the joy of crafting during 2015!
You are also very welcome to my personal blog at: www.lillblommanskapar.blogspot.com

I love making cards so I have two cards and two layouts to show you today.
For my card I used Sanctuary Bountiful and Sanctuary Calling Cards.

I painted the Natural Sprigs first in one shade of green and then I added a thin coat paint with glitter in it.

I used a lovely quote from Sanctuary Calling Cards paper inside of the Roman Clock set.

My next card looks totally different from the first but I actually used the same papers.

To create my sign I used the Damask Panel. First I painted it with Gesso. Then I added a rub-on sentiment. I also gave it a coat with Crackle Paint and light blue fluid chalk.

I painted Mini Flourishes with black acrylic paint and then I added a coat of Glossy accent.

For my layout about my boy and all his Christmas presents I used Sanctuary Botanical Garden and Meadows of Time.

For my Graduated Squares I wanted lots of texture. After Modeling Paste and Acrylic Paint I added some glass glitter.

This is my take on January sketch. I love to add gold to my work and here I mixed the gold with black and lilac.

As background I used Sanctuary Birdsong Melody. First I gave all my Chipboard pieces a coat of Gesso. On my Fancy Signage I used Gold Acrylic Paint and then I sprinkled over with Gold Rush Glass Glitter. On my Happy word Chipboard besides black Acrylic Paint I added Charcoal Art Sugar.

On my beautiful Butterflies I wanted lots of Gold flakes!

Hugs from Ulrika!

Three layouts by Marie-Josée

Hello folks,

I hope you are doing fine today! November is here now, and it will be Christmas soon! Before we get to the holidays and all the Christmas crafts, here are a few non-seasonal layouts!

"Happiness" layout

I used the Joyce's Dream paper from the Ombre Dreams collection to create my background. I glued the chipboard to my paper and added gesso with a sponge, as well as color with Gelatos and spray inks.

Here's a close-up view of the Circle Code chipboard, altered with gesso and Gelatos...

... and the Happiness sentiment for the Good Vibes word set, altered with black spray ink.

"Cute Stuff" layout

To create this layout, I used a picture I found on Pinterest. I just loooooooooooooove owls and birds of prey! :)

I used the Shannon's Dream paper from the Ombre Dreams collection to create my background.

I cut a piece of the Damask Panel and glued it to my background. Then, I applied gesso with a sponge on top of my chipboard. I added color with Gelatos

And here's the Cute Stuff sentiment for the Good Vibes word set. I did not alter it in any way.

Sketch layout

Finally, I just want to show you my sketch layout, once again.

I did the same thing I did for the two layouts shown above, that is, using Gelatos and spray inks to add colors.

I used the Ginger's Dream paper from the Ombre Dreams collection to create my background.

I also cut two pieces of the Turkish Panel and glued them to my background.

Here's my title, created with the Loving You chipboard...

... and a few close-up views...
