July inspiration by Elena Volchkova

Hi everyone! Today is my day to talk about the dreams and inspiration. And it is the sea today. My new love - a collection Seaside Cottage. And the first two pages of it.

"Marine dreams" layout

In this work, it embodied gentle and romantic thoughts about the sea.. The sea always gives us great emotions, it is always waiting for us, and we look forward to seeing him ... waiting and dreaming.

The background is very complicated. I used the Embark paper as my background. And the mix of lace, twigs, beads. And paint, paint, paint!

Anticipation from "Serendipity Words 1" set was covered with Imagine Ink Lilac embossing powders.

Seaside Flourish was covered with mixture of Imagine Ink embossing powders in Petal and 14 karat, that so good together.
Flower from " Seaside Lilies" set.

To show the sun glare, I used Sunshine glitter. It's so sunny!

Seaside Flourish I cut into two parts and this piece has become accent in the corner. Colored to with mixture of Imagine Ink embossing powders in Petal and 14 karat.

Blue Fern Studios Supply List:
Paper: Seaside Cottage - Embark
Chipboard: Seaside Flourish, Ocean Mermaid, Serendipity Words 1
Imagine Ink Embossing Powder: Lilac, Petal, 14 karat
Glitters: Sunshine
Flowers: Seaside Lilies

"Family trip" layout

In this layout there is the story of one wonderful holiday, when a little girl was vacationing on the sea. Photos preserve for us the memory and emotions. This is so wonderful! You can always go back to childhood;)
I used the Voyage paper from the Seaside Cottage Collection as my background paper. And a lot of romantic and tropical details.

These flashlights enchanted me. They are magic! I wanted to use them together, just a little bit in different shades.

Large lantern was covered with mixture of Imagine Ink embossing powders in Honey and Mystic Plum. Little is also covered with a mixture. But other shades - Petal and 14 karat Imagine Ink embossing powders.

Stamps Forever and Postal Textures helps to make an interesting background.

"Reminisce" I covered to with Imagine Ink Mystic Plum embossing powder.

In this work I use the flowers of the sets: Attic Charm Daisies, Seaside Lilies and Attic Charm Glitter Roses.

Blue Fern Studios Supply List:
Paper: Seaside Cottage - Voyage
Chipboard: Seaside Lanterns, Serendipity Words 2
Stamp: Forever, Postal Textures
Imagine Ink Embossing Powder: 14 karat, Honey, Petal, Mystic Plum
Glitters: Sunshine
Flowers: Attic Charm Daisies, Seaside Lilies, Attic Charm Glitter Roses.

"In the Garden" layout

Layout for a girl who loves to be photographed. In this work I tried to continue flowers of pictures in the background and in the decor. I think a bush was very interesting.

Petite window secreted in the bushes behind the curtains of lace. Window was covered with Imagine Ink 14 karat embossing powders.

I used the Serendipity Medley stamp with Imagine Ink 14 karat embossing powder to create some details on my background. They are almost invisible, but they sparkle in the sun.

"Reminisce" I covered to with Imagine Ink Mystic Plum embossing powder.
Sparkles on the background - Dusty Rose Glitter.

Blue Fern Studios Supply List:
Paper: Attic Charm - Attic Key
Chipboard: Serendipity Words 2, Petite Windows
Stamp: Serendipity Medley
Imagine Ink Embossing Powder: 14 karat, Mystic Plum
Glitters: Dusty Rose

I hope you enjoy viewing my projects. See you next time :)

Projects with Angelica

Hello everyone! I'm sharing today my final projects as a BFS design team member. It's been an amazing and fun year!  I'm so honored to have had the opportunity to design for such a wonderful company!

I made this layout using the Autumn Anthology collection.  I started with the Newsworthy paper as my background and layered then Penmanship on top.  I painted the Large Roman Clock, Damask Panel and Spring branch chipboard pieces with gesso. Then lightly misted with the Leaf mist.

For this layout I used the Frolic collection. Such pretty soft colors!  I did some layering with the Secretary paper. Then used some pieces of the Calling Cards and Dans de Jardin. Again, I painted the Floral Lattice Bits, Timeless Floral Corner, and Petite Windows with gesso. They sprayed using the leaf and Cotton Candy Mist.

So, I've used up all of the Vintage Christmas Papers that were sent to me! I decided to make a quick card using a scrap piece of the Wonderland paper.  This is my take on the sketch using the Gingerbread House Chipboard. I used a thick uneven coat of Heavy Gesso and sprinkled colored glitter glass while still wet.

Thanks for stopping by during this busy holiday season!

Tags with Camilla

Hi! It's my turn to give you some inspiration using gorgeous Blue Fern Studios products. I have created two tags, which could be given away as cards.

For my first tag I used paper from the Blue Fern Garden collection. The chipboards, Petite Windows and Veranda Cages, are painted in white and then stamped on using black ink.

For my second tag I used paper from the Ombré Dreams collection together with the chipboard pieces Organic Vine Corner and Brigitte Butterfly Set. The chipboards are painted in white and then I used some light green embossing powder.

Have a nice day and see you soon!

Three cards by Evgenia

Hello dear friends! its Evgenia Petzer with you today and I made three cards for you, all of them use Ombre Dreams collection and all of them have something in common, i like to make series of cards and hope that you will get inspired as well.

The first one uses Brigitte Butterfly Set, i coloured them with gesso first and then applied silks paint on it. I think its my favorite out of these three.

All the sentiments on all three cards are alss from Ombre dreams papers, the second card uses: Symphony Border, Petite Windows.
The chipboard is colored with pearl paint by Martha Stewart. I reaaly like that apple shape for the cards.

and the last one for today, I love that Symphony border chipboard and i often cut it in smaller pieces.

and the last photo of all of them together.

An education video tutorial

Hello lovely readers!

So excited to be back in today to share a video I created for Blue Fern Studios. Do you know that BFS has a dedicated YouTube channel, packed full of inspiration and clever ways to use your chipboards and papers?

I made a hanging for my front door for this video. We used to have a welcome wreath but that one didn't last. Sifting through my Blue Fern stash, I was thinking just how perfect the Circle Flourish would be as a wreath, or on a round canvas and that was how this was born.

some close-ups:

Love the floral design on the flourish.

I've had the Grande Garden Gate for awhile but couldn't seem to find a use for it on layouts. But for this hanging, it's the perfect addition.

And every house must have a window (at least in mine, many big windows!). This is a piece from the petite window set.

Blue Fern products used:

Circle Flourish (large)
Grande Garden Gate
Petite Windows set

Here's the video on how I put together this canvas, and the various ways I altered the chipboard. Have fun watching, and remember to subscribe to the Blue Fern Studios channel to get first-hand update on more inspirational tutorials from the DT!

love,
Jelissa

Ombré Dreams with Camilla

Hi! Camilla here with two projects. And guess what... I am using the new fantastic Ombré Dreams collection. I just love the patterns and the colours!

On my layout I have used three different Blue Fern Studios chipboards; Memory frames, Petite Windows and Wild Flourish Bundle. The papers from the Ombré Dreams collections are Leslie's Dream and Julianna's Dream. The chipboards are painted in white gesso.

And then I have made a card using the Ombré Dreams collection. The chipboards are Royal Monarchs and Broken Rings. The butterfly is painted with white gesso and the rings are misted with purple and pink mixing together.

I hope you enjoyed the project! Make sure to pop in here again the day after tomorrow to see more inspiration from the design team.

Rae's May Projects

Hello, everyone! It's Rae with you today, sharing my May projects, including one with the amazing new BFS paper collection, Ombre Dreams!

"Sunshine after Rain" Card

I have used up nearly all of my Blue Fern Garden paper! In fact, when I made this card, I only had a mound of scraps to work with, so I decide to tear up some strips and make this layered design.

I used some small Spring Iris chipboard pieces that I cut up. I usually prime my chipboard with gesso, but I decided to use white chalk ink, and it created a dull effect when I added some green paint.

To treat this Petite Window, I used Martha Stewart crackle effect medium. Once it was dry, I added some light brown distress ink for a worn look to blend in with the rest of the card's tone.

  Altered Notebook

I like to keep a notebook handy so I can jot down any scrappy ideas I have throughout the day. I was in need of a new one, and wanted to add some Blue Fern chippies to this canvas journal to make sure it looked AWESOME!

I just ADORE the Petite Windows! This is another from the set. I used the same technique I used on the window I put on the card. This time I added a cherub button I had in my stash.

Here's a close up of the Wild Flourish Bundle. I used one of my favorite techniques where I prime the chipboard with a heavy coat of gesso, and sprinkle with various embossing powders, making sure to leaves some of the gesso untouched, then dry with a heat gun. Once dry, I add different shades of mists, saturating the chipboard, and drying again with a heat gun to dry the "pools" of mists.

"Sunshine" Layout

I am so in love with the Ombre Dreams paper! I love the array of colors! When I saw the blues and purples, I knew I wanted to use those first, and add some grey for a pretty vintage look.

This layout is based on the May sketch.

Here's a close up of the bottom left corner. I used some silver metallic paint and black chalk ink on the bird cage from the Veranda Cage Set.

I painted the title, "Sunshine," from The Optimist Word Set with gesso and Glimmer Glam.

The purple damask shape is a negative piece from the Damask Panel that I traced on the Joyce's Dream paper, then cut and sanded onto the panel piece.

I used gray chalk ink and several colors of Silks acrylic glaze paints on the Spring Frame. I covered up the flowers with dimensional flowers, and added some blue pearls to the scallops.

Thanks for checking out my projects today!
