Hello everyone!
First of all, Happy New Year !!! I wish you all the best for 2018!
I'm so proud to share whit you my first inspirations of the year for Blue Fern Studios.
It's such an honor and a pleasure to be a part of this wonderful team for the second year.
THANK YOU so much BFS xxx

So let me introduce myself, for those who don't know me.
My name is Melanie, Tartine Peluche on social media. I'm 35 years old and I live Quebec in Canada.
I do principally layouts, sometime cards and canvas, I've been doing scrapbooking for several years, starting with cards, Since 2 years I've changed for layouts and I really love that,
My style is mostly shabby but I like touch everything and discover new techniques.
What is sure, is that my style is very detailed and filled with flowers!

My works are always evolving and that's one of things why I love this art.
You can find me on:

I hope to inspire you all year long.

*Handmade with love*
(Vintage christmas)
------------------------------------------------

To start I used a stencil and pink ink, then with a pink ink pad I stamped with Departure Stamp in a few places and thereafter always with the same stamp I stamped with a brown ink pad.
 That's all for the background.

I stamped on a watercolor paper several times the wreath motif of the stamp Holiday Wreath, then I colored them and cut in leaves only. I used them as foliage for my roses from the collection Garden Blooms to which I added some fake snow.

I altered my Shabby Flakes chipboards with SNOW embossing powder and I also added fake snow on these.A small printed chipboard from Homespun - Printed Chipboard and one white flower from Apricot Blooms finishes this side of my layout.

As a base, I used Vintage Christmas's printed chipboard oval and I created a wreath with the folliage remaining cut out earlier.

Of all the winter chipboards the Winter Deers are really my fav, just because i'm so in love with this wonderful animal. I could put on all my layout :)
This one is embossed with Copper and on top of it I added fake snow too, like my flowers...

This background is a little more complicated, much texture and several pieces of chipboard Chain Link Panel that I embossed with Night Sky.

On shrink plastic I stamped a butterfly from the stamp Spring Accents after cooking it, I added some glitters ( Red Wine ) Some flowers and a piece of torn lace 5 complete this side.

I know we don't see much but I embossed my chipboard Rose Shield with Baby Pink. He is hidden by flowers and another piece torn of lace. My title cut in three pieces is embossed with Plum.

On my pink flowers from Spring Florals collection , another butterfly in shrink plasticstamped with Bourbon Street stamp.

I embossed my Organic Vine Corner chipboard and my cutout doily with Ivory powder.

On an acetate sheet, I stamped one butterfly from Butterflies stamp and I cut it.
Maybe you'll see better on the next picture.

( Remnants )
------------------------------------------------

Another background a little complicated, that I will not explain to you, for lake of time ...
But I can tell you about this picture. you see myself in the company of my little cat saved. I found him abandoned by another human, just a few months old ... His name is Gaston and I love him so much, I can't see my life without him.

Sometimes, I think I should put less details LOL
I created from the Garden Window chipboard, a vine. All folliage used
are embossed with Green Ivory powder.

The chipboard embossed in Night Sky, on my background, is actually the interior of my Garden Window chipboard that I cutted. The leaves embossed in Green Ivory under the window shutter come from the Forest Branch chipboard. I will use the remaining branch and the bird later ...

I really love the effect of what the berries makes with the mix of flowers. Check in the description below for all details of what I've used. Under the flowers, the Blooming Flourishes chipboard also embossed in Green Ivory powder.
When you order them, you receive two identical pieces, I used both.

For my title, You Make Me Smile I embossed a first time in Baby Pink powder. Then, at just a few places, I used Lavender Eggs powder for a slight contrast and reminiscent of the purple of my layout.

I really love mini beads, and the Blue Fern Studio's seedlings are so cute and polyvalent. Here I've used Mauve and Purple Haze for adding texture and details.
I've mixed together two glitters : Pyrite & Spring Posy in a secret blend ... for make flakes.
I added them on my background.

Attic Charm Inspiration & More by Nicole

Every time Blue Fern Studios releases a new collection, I get a new favorite!
They are all designed so beautifully, with so much attention to detail, and Attic Charm certainly is no exception!  Soft and pretty with a touch of vintage - I absolutely adore it!

Here is my first layout created with this wonderful new line.

My page was inspired by the June BFS sketch challenge:

My favorite part of Attic Charm are these gorgeous paper daisies.

A very popular chipboard piece from BFS is the Music Box which is strikingly gorgeous.
I covered it with Cotton Candy Imagine Ink embossing powder and sprinkled a little Watermelon glitter to add a little sparkle and texture.  I then dabbed the piece with a little Pearl powder and white paint.

I combined the Attic Charm daisies with some fussy cut flowers from the papers and pale green Courtship Blooms and sneaked a Leafy Page Accents behind the flower cluster.

I added strips of the Tattered Diamond Bits to the layered paper strips below my picture, and used the word Heart, covered in Melon embossing powder, as part of my title.

Very shabby chic, indeed!

Blue Fern Studios supplies used:
Patterned papers: Attic Charm (Generation, Foyer, Haberdashery, Calling Cards)
Chipboard: Happy, Music Box, Leafy Page Accents, Tattered Diamond Bits
Flowers: Attic Charm Daisies, Courtship Blooms
Stamps: Weathered Doilies, Essential Textures
Imagine Ink: Embossing Powder (Cotton Candy, Pearl, Fuscia) / Glitter (Watermelon)

***

I created another layout for my reveal using the Attic Charm collection,
this time with the Generation patterned paper as my base.

For my title, I decided to combine the words Blissful and Love from two different sets.
I colored Blissful in Melon embossing powder and Love in Mushroom.

I really loved this quote from the Calling Cards paper!  You can also framing my photo an older BFS chipboard piece, the Blue Fern Frame, that was in my stash even before I joined the DT.  I was waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it, and I thought it looked quite nice with this setup.  I cut it into pieces to add a piece on either side of my photo and covered it with my favorite Imagine Ink tone by far, Peacock.

A very romantic page for a very happy couple in love!

Blue Fern Studios supplies used:
Patterned paper: Attic Charm (Generation, Calling Cards) ***
Chipboard: Blissful, Love, Blue Fern Frame
Flowers: Attic Charm Daisies, Attic Charm Glittered Roses, Courtship Blooms
Imagine Ink: Embossing Powder (Peacock, Melon, Mushroom)

For my final layout today, I went back in time a little and used the older collection, Autumn Anthology to go along with this fantastic photo taken by my friend Christine on her and her boyfriend's once in a lifetime trip to Turkey, last September.

Of course, due to the whole hot air balloon theme, I had to use this gorgeous piece called Olga's Layered Balloon.  I treated the bottom layer with black and espresso distress stains as well as dabs of blue paint, and covered the fancy top layer with Imagine Ink Melon embossing powder.

I stamped different travel-theme designs from the Journey and Postal Textures stamp sets on my background and fussy cut this pretty balloon from the papers.  The word Stillness seemed a perfect title for the photo and page!

I added the Organic Vine Corner that I separated and stuck each side of my flower cluster.
It was treated with distress stains, the same as the title and bottom layer of the balloon chipboard.

All main flowers are from Blue Fern Studios, including the blue flower which is from the Tranquil Roses set.  I altered it a little, removing its center and replacing it with a brown pearly brad.

How truly magical is this scene!?
My friend is very lucky to have been able to experience it and I wanted to create this layout for her as a keepsake.  I am sure that she will appreciate all the BFS goodies used on it!

Blue Fern Studios supplies used:
Patterned Papers: Autumn Anthology (Le Ballon, Robin)
Chipboard: Stillness, Organic Vine Corner, Olga's Layered Balloon
Stamps: Postal Textures, Journey, Love Story Set One

Imagine Ink: Embossing Powder (Melon)

I hope you have enjoyed my creations and you will visit my blog to see more!

It feels like Spring! with Sandi Clarkson

Hello, Blue Fern fans!

This month I'm focusing on Courtship Lane!

"Today"

I've been wanting to scrap this photo for a while even though it's not the best quality.  This sweet little family is expecting twin boys any day! Anyway, this Courtship Parkway paper seemed perfect for an outdoor family photo. Lots of earth tones mixed in with a pinch of purple.
I prepared my background with gesso, stenciling and stamping with the Halftone and the Photography stamps.

Next, I prepared my chipboard and decided to have fun with color this time around. The Seasonal Wildflowers piece is a combination of Sage and Lucky Embossing Powders. Then it was dabbed with gesso. My Graduated Circle piece is just one of this great set of circles, lots for your money! It was prepared with gesso, gelato and Cotton Candy Embossing Powder  .. done randomly.

This is also a good time to point out the new Flowers! Yes, there are coordinating flowers for the Courtship Lane collection, blooms and roses.  I've added a touch of yellow to the white and purple flower and then gessoed all of them. Loving the yellow I added to that purple rose! Kicked it up a notch!

The Today title is from the Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday set and was prepared with gesso, gelato and Honey Embossing Powder. I made the heart and bow portion of the Winter Page Dangle the same as the title and circle chips.

Bits of Honey are left natural and lightly touched with gesso.

Just another great shot of the new Roses and Blooms. (The peach one is from my stash.)

I threw this photo in because you can clearly see the Halftone stamping and you get to see the new flowers one more time.

"Happy"

I was going to save this sweet layout for next month but I decided to hold another completed project and replace it with this one! For once, my post will have 3 layouts using one paper collection!

I prepared my background (Royal Street) with clear gesso and then built layers with stenciling, gesso and stamping with the Garden Frolic, Love Story 2 and the Photography stamps.

I love this sweet photo of a couple of the grandkids. So precious! For photo mat layers I've used the Courtship Lane Calling Cards, and both sides of West Plaza.  Of course, my Butterfly Friends chippy provides yet another layer. It has been prepared with white gesso and then heat embossed with Snow Embossing Powder. You can also see here one of the Courtship purple Roses and a couple of the Courtship Blooms!
My Happy title is from Arrow Words and was heat embossed with Iris Embossing Powder. I snipped off the arrow and added it higher on the photo.

Just the other side of the Butterfly Friends chippy which I cut in half so that it could peek out both sides. Love, love, love how that Iris Embossing Powder looks on the Happy title.

I took this photo to highlight some of the stamping done for adding dimension.

This magnificent Gazebo piece is simply painted white and then inked, stamped randomly and popped up on dimensional tape. I added the Organic Vine Corner to one edge and wow, it looks like it is growing up the Gazebo! Love that effect. Of course, I had to add in some of the new flowers!
The vine is simply inked .. one of my favorite ways to alter chipboard. I like a matte finish.

Just a close-up of the purple Courtship Roses and the light green Courtship Bloom. I made them my own my adding some yellow coloring and microbeads. And isn't that vine to die for?

Blue Fern Studios Products used:
Paper: Courtship Lane Royal Street, West Plaza, Calling Cards
Chipboard: Butterfly Friends, Gazebo, Organic Vine Corner, Arrow Words
Stamps: Garden Frolic, Love Story 2, Photography
Embossing Powder: Snow, Iris
Flowers: Courtship Roses, Courtship Blooms

"Anticipation"

This layout was created for our March Sketch Challenge. We hope you get a chance to play along! I decided to go purple on this one. There is lots of simple background work on this one including some stamping with the Christmas Collage stamp .. yes, really! Then I layered the papers as listed below but my primary background layer is Courtship East Plaza.

I wanted this layout to be all soft and feminine, so my chipboard is simply painted with white gesso. I've used the Serendipity Anticipation title and the Township collage.

Just a little floral close-up and some stamping and ink splattering. I've used some clusters of microbeads here and there for more texture.

I've been wanting to use the Banner Flags chippy and when they showed up on this month's sketch. I pulled one out! So cute!

Just s couple of dimensional shots! Love adding in corrugated cardboard to anything!
