Memoires & Serendipity Inspiration from Nicole Doiron

Hello everyone!

I am thrilled to be back today to share with you more of my Blue Fern Studios creations, and I'm even more excited to showcase the stunning new collection Mémoires on 2 of these projects.

Let's start with this layout that was inspired by the October sketch challenge.

This is the fabulous sketch designed by Michelle Singh.
Here's to hoping that you will be inspired and play along with us this month!

First, I created the mixed media background on this page by stamping the Cracked texture stamp numerous times and then creating a vertical design with ivory acrylic paint and Garnet Imagine Ink embossing powder.  I chose the True Story title that I covered with Ebony powder.

Below you see one of the beautiful new chipboard pieces coordinating with Mémoires.  I used a layer of the glittery Lucky embossing powder on the Grand Ornement and then tamed it down a bit with a few different shades of distress ink.  I added a Jeweled Page Dangle covered in Black Sand powder which I both absolutely love as well as a Formal Corner in Ebony.

Blue Fern Studios has released some new flower sets which are all exquisite.  Below you see a green Mémoires Bloom combined with Seaside Lily and Courtship Blooms.

Blue Fern Studios Products
Patterned Papers: Mémoires (Nature's Novel, Chronicles, Calling Cards)
Chipboard: Grand Ornement, Jeweled Page Dangles, Formal Corners, True Story
Flowers: Mémoire Blooms, Seaside Lilies, Courtship Blooms
Stamp: Scratched
Imagine Ink: Embossing Powders (Lucky, Garnet, Black Sand, Ebony)

Next, this layout is a little bit more soft in 'nature' (pun unintended), using a combination of the gorgeous Photographic Record and Remember When papers.  I love the colour palette which is so versatile, perfect for any season photos.

I so love the Ginger's Poppies that I have lined along the bottom right corner.  I thought that the Melon colour would suit them very well.  The word Patience was covered with a mixture of Sage and Lucky.

Attic Charm Daisies and Harvest Lilies make up the pretty pastel flower clusters.

In the upper left corner of my page, framing my picture, are a Swirled Floral Corner which I separated in two pieces and a Whimsy Flourish.

I really love the quote "Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience" and thought it was perfect for my page.  This pretty flower was photographed from my mother in law's beautiful garden!

For my last project today, I decided I would give you a double treat in a double-page layout!

You see on this page my favorite papers from the Serendipity collection.  I must say, these papers look as if they have been designed especially for me!  Soft flowery patterns in teal and red, ivory book prints and gorgeous vintage romance... absolutely stunning!

This double spread needed a big and bold title so I used the Remember Moments piece covered in Ruby.

You see here the elegant Attic Stairs covered in Ebony.

I framed both sides of my layout with pieces of the Blue Fern Frame and I added an Ironwork Accent piece on the left side. The red Attic Charm Glitter Roses seemed ideal for this page and you can see that I also added a bit of Watermelon glitter onto my background.

I added favorite photos of my boyfriend and I throughout our 10 years together.

Attic Charm Inspiration & More by Nicole

Every time Blue Fern Studios releases a new collection, I get a new favorite!
They are all designed so beautifully, with so much attention to detail, and Attic Charm certainly is no exception!  Soft and pretty with a touch of vintage - I absolutely adore it!

Here is my first layout created with this wonderful new line.

My page was inspired by the June BFS sketch challenge:

My favorite part of Attic Charm are these gorgeous paper daisies.

A very popular chipboard piece from BFS is the Music Box which is strikingly gorgeous.
I covered it with Cotton Candy Imagine Ink embossing powder and sprinkled a little Watermelon glitter to add a little sparkle and texture.  I then dabbed the piece with a little Pearl powder and white paint.

I combined the Attic Charm daisies with some fussy cut flowers from the papers and pale green Courtship Blooms and sneaked a Leafy Page Accents behind the flower cluster.

I added strips of the Tattered Diamond Bits to the layered paper strips below my picture, and used the word Heart, covered in Melon embossing powder, as part of my title.

Very shabby chic, indeed!

Blue Fern Studios supplies used:
Patterned papers: Attic Charm (Generation, Foyer, Haberdashery, Calling Cards)
Chipboard: Happy, Music Box, Leafy Page Accents, Tattered Diamond Bits
Flowers: Attic Charm Daisies, Courtship Blooms
Stamps: Weathered Doilies, Essential Textures
Imagine Ink: Embossing Powder (Cotton Candy, Pearl, Fuscia) / Glitter (Watermelon)

I created another layout for my reveal using the Attic Charm collection,
this time with the Generation patterned paper as my base.

For my title, I decided to combine the words Blissful and Love from two different sets.
I colored Blissful in Melon embossing powder and Love in Mushroom.

I really loved this quote from the Calling Cards paper!  You can also framing my photo an older BFS chipboard piece, the Blue Fern Frame, that was in my stash even before I joined the DT.  I was waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it, and I thought it looked quite nice with this setup.  I cut it into pieces to add a piece on either side of my photo and covered it with my favorite Imagine Ink tone by far, Peacock.

A very romantic page for a very happy couple in love!

For my final layout today, I went back in time a little and used the older collection, Autumn Anthology to go along with this fantastic photo taken by my friend Christine on her and her boyfriend's once in a lifetime trip to Turkey, last September.

Of course, due to the whole hot air balloon theme, I had to use this gorgeous piece called Olga's Layered Balloon.  I treated the bottom layer with black and espresso distress stains as well as dabs of blue paint, and covered the fancy top layer with Imagine Ink Melon embossing powder.

I stamped different travel-theme designs from the Journey and Postal Textures stamp sets on my background and fussy cut this pretty balloon from the papers.  The word Stillness seemed a perfect title for the photo and page!

I added the Organic Vine Corner that I separated and stuck each side of my flower cluster.
It was treated with distress stains, the same as the title and bottom layer of the balloon chipboard.

All main flowers are from Blue Fern Studios, including the blue flower which is from the Tranquil Roses set.  I altered it a little, removing its center and replacing it with a brown pearly brad.

How truly magical is this scene!?
My friend is very lucky to have been able to experience it and I wanted to create this layout for her as a keepsake.  I am sure that she will appreciate all the BFS goodies used on it!

March shares by Bec

Hi it's Bec here and today I have my March projects for you. These are featuring the newest Blue Fern Studios paper collections Serendipity and Courtship Lane. They are both SO gorgeous

My first layout is made using this months Sketch featuring the Courtship Lane Collection

Here is the March sketch

I started this layout by cutting strips of the paper to place on my background, next I mixed the Grape glitter and purple micro beads with gel medium and added this mix through a stencil.  I coloured the Circle Groups with the Oatmeal embossing powder.  I glued this to my page and added glitter, micro beads and glass beads into the circle holes.

I added some random stamping with the Halftone and Essential Textures  stamps.
I coloured the Dare To Dream chipboard piece with three embossing powders (Oatmeal,  Mystic Plum and  Iris) to give and ombre look to it.

I embellished this layout with flowers,  lace,  twine,  resin and gems

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:
Courtship Lane Collection
Papers: Royal Street,  Main Street,  East Plaza
Chipboard: Circle Groups,  Dare To Dream
Embossing Powder: Oatmeal,  Mystic Plum,  Iris
Glitter: Grape
Stamps: Halftone and Essential Textures

My Second layout is using the Serendipity Collection

I prepared my base paper (Anticipation) with clear gesso before I used modeling paste for texture.  While the paste was still wet I applied the embossing powders Seven Seas and Ginger to add colour to the paste.

Next I added colour with sprays in blue, teal and beige tones.  To finish off my background I added brown distress ink through a flourish stencil and added random stamping with stamps Halftone and Forever

I cut the Blue Fern Frame to size and coloured the two larger pieces with the embossing powders in Seven Seas, Ginger,  Breeze and Sea Mist. For the two smaller pieces of the frame that were left over and my title Peace I coated them with white gesso and added colour with brown distress ink.
To embellish the layout I used flowers,  buttons,  metal flowers,  glass pebbles and ribbon.

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:
Serendipity collection
Papers: Anticipation, Calling Cards, Contemplation,  Imagination
Chipboard: Blue Fern Frame, Peace from Good Vibes Word Set
Embossing powders: Seven Seas, Ginger,  Breeze,  Sea Mist
Imagine Ink Spray: Sky
Stamps: Halftone and Forever

And finally today I have two cards I made with the Courtship Lane Collection Papers, and two of my favourite chipboard pieces that came with the Serendipity Collection.
Sometimes I think the chipboard pieces are too stunning to be hidden amongst a layout and that they need to be featured (in this case on a card).

For this card I used the Chipboard Piece Gazebo, which I coloured with the Embossing Powders Snow and  Ginger. The image on the Courtship Lane paper Lovers Lane fit perfectly inside the Gazebo.

On my second card I made the Couture chipboard piece as the feature. I coloured this with the Embossing powders Snow,  Cotton Candy,  Fuchsia, Lilac and Mystic Plum

Papers: Lovers Lane,  Town Gossip,  East Plaza
Chipboard: Couture and Gazebo
