Wedding Card & Gift Bag Set - Vicky Alberto

Well, I think it is obvious that I simply adore Blue Fern's HOMESPUN collection... so, I created a "country style" wedding card & gift bag set.

On the card, I used several of the collection's adhesive shapes plus LOVE STORY ACCENTS chipboard, and beautiful Blue Fern flowers too!  I primed the chipboard with gesso, glazed on some glass beads medium and quickly sprinkled some embossing glitter (Blue Fern), as well added some diamond dust to the dress (for more texture).  The only thing from my "stash" is the pink heart paper doily.

For the gift bag, I used a simple craft bag and a circle doily I had... then, I added Homespun paper collection layers, adhesive accents, Blue Fern flowers and more love store accents chipboard too.  On the chipboard, I used texture paste and sprinkled some Blue Fern embossing glitter (before it dried).  On the word "love" is simply glass beads medium over gesso.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at project today... back soon to share another project!

Nature's Playground with the Wanderer Collection

Hello and welcome back to Blue Fern Studios' blog. I am here today to share a layout I've done using the gorgeous Wanderer Collection.
This is Cape Breton Nova Scotia. A stunning place on the East Coast of Canada. This was the view from my campsite. The Lakeside paper was the perfect backdrop for this photo.
I used a variety of papers and the Natural chipboard frame to surround my photo.  I cut the frame into four pieces to enlarge it and embossed it with a variety of colors. The Seven Seas embossing powder I used for the sides of the frame was a perfect match for the blue hue in the paper.
For some added texture I used a stencil from Fabrika Decoru and some Shabby Blue 3D Gel and then went over it a second time with molding paste and a light green mist. I then did some stamping with some distress oxide inks. First I stamped the page with one color then watered it down and blotted it to take some excess off then repeated with a second color. I went over it a third time with Black Archival ink. I really liked the effect and will play with this technique again.
For my title I cut the Nature's Playground chipboard apart so that I could spread it out and make it more manageable.I embossed it with brown to bring some earthy color to the page. I also embossed some pieces of drywall tape and put them randomly about the page.
I also added some Art Stones for even more texture.
I used a piece of printed chipboard and again cut it in half to extend it's usage. I used some Lace #4 from Blue Fern to enhance my flower clusters.
I used a variety of blooms from Blue Fern Studios to embellish my page.
I also used a stencil and went over it with Matte Gel then went over the area again with some Tickled Seedlings in effect to add little seedling blooms across the page.
To finish the page off I added some Meadow Seedlings in a few places. I may have over embellished the page somewhat I just seem to get "taken away" when I look at my photos of the East Coast as  it is the first time I can honestly say that I felt completely peaceful in life. If I didn't have my entire family here  I think I would consider relocating to Nova Scotia permanently.

Taken From The Past by Debbie Burns

Hi everyone!  Debbie here today to share a frame I altered with the Attic Charm collection.

I started off with a small white decorative frame which I dabbed with some rose gold wax.  I then began to build up layers by using Curio, Calling Cards and Attire papers from the Attic Charm collection.  In addition to building up layers I did a lot of fussy cut work from papers.

Here I used a couple of older chipboard pieces from Blue Fern Studios which I embossed with Pink Dust embossing powder.  I lightly dabbed on some rose gold wax and added a sprinkling of Gold Nugget, Tickled and Sweet Pea Seedlings.

Tucked between layers I used some Blue Fern lace and flowers from Moody Florals and
Chesterville Blooms.  I added some fussy cut work from the Attic Key, Attire, Curio and Mercantile papers.

Lots of fussy cut images.

Lots of layers!

Cards with Remnants Collection

Hello DT Henriette here today and I'm sharing two cards I made using the wonderful
Remnants collection.

I created two cards and both have multiple layers of patterned papers, chipboard,
lace and flowers.

For the "every moments matters card" I added the "Belfast bouquet" chipboard which I painted white and aged with brown ink.
Behind the chipboard is a flower from the Remnants self-adhesive chipboard shaped.

I also aged the Blue Fern Studios flowers with the brown distress ink.

On the other card I added a frame chipboard embossed with
oatmeal embossing powder.

I love this amazing collection especially the colors.

Here is a list of the products I used:

Lucky Decor Panel

Hello everyone, welcome to the Blue Fern Studios Blog, I am Aida from @aidaville back again with another canvas panel. What inspires you ? There are times when I have no idea what to make and going through beautiful papers or embellishments always helps. As I picked up the Happy Accident printed chipboard, immediately the pretty Blue flower leapt out at me and together with the work Lucky left over from the Wanderlust Chipboard, inspiration sparked and this was the result.

Blue Fern Studios supplies used are :
Lace no.1  |  Natural Cotton Twine
Papers : Happy Accident #2 - Faux   |   Remnants - Devonshire
Printed Chipboard : Wanderlust  |  Happy Accident
Chipboard : Fall Foliage  |  Blossom Branches
Others :
7 x 9 Flat Back Canvas Panel
Acrylic paints  |  Crayons | Matte Multi Medium  | Texture Crackle Paste | Grit Paste  |  Shimmer Glaze
Fern die-cuts  |  Thin strip of Glitter paper  |  Phrases Sticker.

Here's how to begin :
Start by painting and texturing the canvas panel. The center was finished darker blue/green to create a shadow for the focal elements and edges were left much lighter for contrast.

Paint the chipboard leaves with a pale blue acrylic paint and add a thin layer of Grit Paste. Once dry, paint a thin coat of shimmer glaze.

Die-cut a few fern fronds as fillers using a light paper.

I trimmed the base paper 4 x 6" and distressed the edges. This was popped up on a large foam sheet square 1/4" thickness and adhered to the center of the panel.

Smaller strips of paper were layered, and on top of that, to the right and left, the scallop printed chipboard from the Wanderlust collection was stuck down.

Adhere the painted chipboard leaves securely to the base, and then  Lace no.1.

Position the Blue Flower printed chipboard over the lace, use a bit of strong glue to make sure it's adhered well.

Here you can see how the pretty Lace is layered under the focal chipboard.

Choose your sticker or a stamped phrase and add it to the lower half of the Blue Flower chipboard. A narrow strip of pale gold glitter paper ensures the phrase is highlighted and not get lost in the overall design.

The word Lucky was adhered to a folded piece of paper tied with natural twine.

The delicate Fern fronds fill out the edges of the panel for a light, airy dimension.
This was a lovely piece to work on with the pretty colours and the wonderful texture of the canvas. It makes you want to touch and feel the layers !

Thank you for coming by and I hope this panel will jumpstart your own creative process.

See you soon !! Aida  @aidaville
