Video Tutorial for Happy Accident 2 Collection by Jessica

"Love"

Hello my friends! Before I get to my video tutorial for the newest Happy Accident 2 Collection, I want to share my first layout for September featuring the Tattered Walls Collection.  My background paper is "The Maid's Room".

The larger pink and white roses are from the Happy Roses collection.

In this picture, you can see the Opulence chipboard piece.  Originally it was dark brown then I embossed it with Pearl embossing powder (there are only very small patches of the Pearl embossing powder that is visible on the chipboard).  I then used the Super Grunge stamp and embossed the chipboard with Ivory embossing powder.  Next, I used the Crackle Textures stamp with a black water solvent ink pad to stamp over the chipboard.  Finally, I applied Lavender seedlings with matte gel.

I used a lot of Tattered Walls Ephemera as part of my background textures.  In this picture, you can see that I used the For the Birds stamps with black water solvent ink.

I love how the pink flowers were able to flow across the page!  The pinks and whites remind me of waves of roses.  In this picture you can also see the white Garden Blooms flower.  It was originally a rose, but I took two layers of the rose, put them together, and added some stamen I had from my stash.

"It's the Little Things in Life"

For my second layout, I used the newest Happy Accident 2 Collection and I am in love with it!  I used Happy Accident 2 "Smarty" as my background paper.  Under the stenciled area, I used Happy Accident 2 Ephemera and strips of "Damsel" paper.  I also distressed a piece of the "Damsel" paper and distressed Amber & Apricot's "Chapters" paper to go under my photo.  I also chose to use the new "It's the Little Things in Life" chipboard piece.  I coated it twice with gesso then spritzed it with brown and taupe mists.

I used the two new stamps Accidental Collage (slightly hidden at the left side of the page) and the flowers from the Garden Gate stamp set (slightly hidden under the floral panels at the top and bottom of the page).  I used the Tattered Newsprint stamp randomly around the page.

Here is a nice closeup where you can see that I embossed the pieces of chipboard with the Super Grunge Stamp and Pearl embossing powder.  Then I added little bits of the new Evening Sky seedlings randomly on the pieces of the Floral Panel chipboard that I cut into 3 sections.

I used flowers from both new sets of flowers - Happy Blossoms and Happy Florals.  The larger blue flower and the brown flower are from the Happy Florals and the other flowers on the page are from the Happy Blossoms set.  The Valerie's Butterflies chipboard pieces were painted twice with gesso then sprayed with blue and brown mists.  When they were dry I added extra concentrated white acrylic paint to the tips.  Finally, I used purple dimensional paint to adhere the new Wisteria seedlings to match the purple flowers on the page.

Under these three flowers and butterfly is the new Floral Butterfly Corner Panel chipboard that was created the same way as three pieces of the Floral Panel chipboard.  For the details, you can check out the video tutorial that explains it all.

Anyhow, I hope you get a chance to take a peak at the tutorial!  It is in fast forward motion and I tried to keep it as informative as possible without cutting out too much footage.  Thanks for stopping by!

Layouts by Camilla

Hi there! Camilla here with two new layouts. I have been playing with some more papers and chipboards from Blue Fern Studios.

First a layout in blue. I have been adding some more blue by using some misting and masking. The chipboards (Small Circle Flourish and Spring Frame) are painted in white gesso and then I stamped with a texture stamp.

Then a layout about a vacation we had in a beautiful town in Sweden. I have used the Blue Fern Garden collection together with these chipboard pieces: Garden Gate, Veranda Cage Set, Eastern Lanterns. The chipboards are painted in white. I stamped with a text stamp. Then I added some Inka Gold here and there.

I hope you enjoyed my layouts!

A Little Bit of Spring

Hi, it's Valerie today, and I've got spring on my mind.  With Easter approaching, I pulled out the Blue Fern Garden paper collection, along with a few chipboard pieces, and created an Easter layout and card.

First up is a layout using the "Picnic"  and "Timeless" paper and a photo of my niece that was taken last Easter.

I chose the Cosmos Basket as a backdrop for the photos, tucked in a Bohemian Flower with the cluster, and painted some Checker Bits green, as a page accent.

Here are a couple of close ups of the chipboard pieces:

Next, I created a little Happy Easter card using the Timeless and Calling Cards papers from the Blue Fern Garden collection.  I painted the bunny in the Bunny Basket chipboard set, and used the smallest circle from the Beaded Strings set.

Lastly, I've had this sweet photo of my nephew that I took when he an infant, that I wanted to use with the Parlour paper.  I first worked with the background to create a grunge look (the Blue Fern Garden paper is perfect for this, since it's good and heavy).  I primed the Lattice Gate with gesso, applied a coat of Inka Gold (Old Silver), and unevenly sponged on some gold Prima Metallic Chalk Edger, to give it a distressed look.  I also primed the Broken Rings, and inked them with black ink.

Here is a close-up of the chipboard pieces:

That's all from me this month.  I love trying to achieve different looks with this chipboard!
Be sure to stop by tomorrow when Jackie will share a few of her projects with you!

Yana Smakula August post

Hello everyone!

Yana is here and today I'm sharing a few of my newest projects created with Blue Fern Studios Chipboard. To tell you the truth - I'm having a blast making clean and simple cards using chipboard pieces from BFS. For this post I also decided to show you something extra - I'll be showing you my very first shadow box! I hope you'll enjoy and will be inspired to create something wonderful with chippies from Blue Fern Studios.

Lets start with a clean card "An Awesome Day":

For this card I used just one chipboard piece from Blue Fern Studios:
 Mister Stuff
I also have a quick video to show you how the card came together:

My next card is also a very simple one, and once again it uses only one chipboard piece which serves as the main element and holds the sentiment:

Chipboard piece used for this project came from the Picture Perfect set:
Picture Perfect
Finally, my main project for this month features several chipboard pieces which create a dimensional scene. All chipboard pieces used for this project were painted with different paints and inks, some were embossed a few times:

Chipboard pieces used for this project are:
Garden Gate
Fancy Birdcage
Organic Vine

This is all from me for today! Be sure to stop by my blog to see some some projects using chipboards from Blue Fern Studios!
