 Seaside Cottage Folio Journal

The beautiful Seaside Cottage collection was the inspiration for this folio journal. The soft white washed palette is perfect for an ocean side feel and the matching elements gave me lots to work with.

For the front cover I used the "Guide Me Home" chipboard set, embossing it to add texture.

I used some gingham fabric to cover the spine and added a strip of lace that matches the collection perfectly!

I created this folio journal and packed it with lots of ephemera. Many of the pieces are altered using pieces from the ephemera pack as well as the journal card pack.

I love making pockets and filling them with the bits and pieces from the collection, snippets of lace and ribbons.

I also make lots of tags using some fun found slide frames, photo negative strips and old music sheets, adding stitching that give a vintage feel. I also had fun adding some stenciling with the brand new
Blue Fern stencils! So fun!

A complete video series of the making of this folio journal is under my playlist, Blue Fern Studios, on my YouTube - Gayle Agostinelli.

A flip through video is available at https://youtu.be/FUrbHXIyJi0, to see a walk through of the journal and ephemera.

Sail Away With Me Layout Blue Fern Studios Seaside Cottage collection

Hey Blue Fern Studios Friends I am sharing my latest layout using Blue Fern Studios Seaside Cottage collection,  isn't it Gorgeous?

I started with Glory double sided paper from Seaside Cottage collection,  distressed the edges with Tim Holtz paper distresser and a paper punch.  Then I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Speckled Egg Distress Dioxide,  love that color!

I created background texture using Bring your own sunshine stamp set and the new Netting stencil using texture paste,  embossing powder and glitter.
I also did diecutting and tearing with paper from Seaside Cottage papers.

For the chipboard piece I added acrylic paint in mint then added white embossing powder.
I also added lace from the Seaside Cottage collection and then started creating my design with layers of diecuts,  the chipboard,  flowers,  crocheted doilies and cheesecloth.

I also used diecuts from the Ephemera pack.

I can't wait to create more with this collection,  I love anything beachy themed and these colors are some of my favorites!
I hope I've inspired you to create something beautiful with this collection!

Birdie Darling Scrapbook Layout Bird Waltz

Hey Crafty Friends I have a mixed media scrapbook layout with lots of layers!

I really love Blue Fern Studios Bird Waltz collection,  it has some of my favorite colors!

I started with cutting the edges with decorative scissors from Bird Waltz paper then I used Tim Holtz paper distressing tool to rough up the edges.   I added washy tape,  then I mixed acrylic paint,  texture paste,  glitter and spread it out thru a Finnabair stencil then sprinkled Blue Fern Studios embossing powder and heat set it.  The texture is so fun!

I also added cheesecloth,  crocheted doilies from Donna Little's Youtube shop,  diecuts,  flowers,  lace from Blue Fern Studios to create my design.
I fussy cut out that beautiful bird from Bird Waltz collection and also cutout Birdie Darling and distressed it.

After I played around with my design I added seedbeads,  seedlings,  sequins and glitter to complete my layout.

I really love how this layout turned out,  my favorite colors,  lots of layers and texture!
Stay tuned for a step by step video where I create a similar layout using the same techniques to create this layout!

Hello Blue Fern Fans!  Are you ready for Fall?  Living in the dessert we either have warm or hot weather!  I so miss the scent of fall in the air!  I decided to create a Shabby Vintage Fall scrapbook layout using Blue Fern Studios Gorgeous Compositions collection!  Please take a peak of my layout!

I started with craft cardstock distressed the edges with decorative scissors and Tim Holtz distressing tool and did the same with paper from the  Compositions collection.  Then I did some tearing,  I just love that look with the white edges.  I also took a few leftover paper pieces from Compositons and added it in the big gaps of where I tore the paper.

With more of my scrap pieces from Compositions I did some diecutting.  I added crocheted doilies,  twine Reneabouquets Gorgeous Butterflies,  seedbeads,  lace,  metal trinket,  BFS Glitter and wooden buttons and flowers to create my layers and interest to this layout.

This layout was so fun to create using Compostions collection, YAY I used some scraps!
