 Lucky Star Journal

The beautiful Lucky Star collection was a little departure for me in that I normally don't work with the rich, dark colors of the papers.  But, oh what fun I had once I got started!

I had such fun layering pockets and all the papers coordinated so seamlessly.  I tried a technique with this journal that I hadn't before and, of course, the Blue Fern papers performed perfectly!

One of my favorite items in this project is the woven tags made from the brand strips at the bottom of the papers.  They are so beautifully decorated that they needed to have a new life as part of the pattern of these tags!

I love to incorporate the branding strips as an accent. Making this page with them creates a wonderful belly band that is perfect to hold tags or ephemera!

Fantastic collection, Michelle, with amazing stamps, chipboard and charms to enhance any project!

I have created a set of follow along videos for this project. Check it out at the link below:

"Earth Laughs in Flowers" Glory of the Garden collection

Hey Blue Fern Friends!  I have a small project using Glory of the Garden collection!

This collection definitely speaks Garden with the colors!

For the background I used texture paste thru a stencil then sprinkled Goldilocks and Golden Seas Embossing powder and also sprinkled Solar Flare glitter this gave a little sparkle and added color.

I did some diecutting for adding layers,  also added flowers,  fiber,  lace,  chipboard and a couple pieces from the Ephemera pack.

My favorite way to put the final touch is to add Seedlings(Golden Nugget) and I also added Sailors Delight Glitter.

Christmas Cards using Vintage Christmas 1 & 2.

Hello and welcome to Blue Fern's blog. Today I have my last post for Blue Fern Studios. I decided to make a couple of Christmas cards using the Vintage Christmas 1 & 2 papers.
I love working with these papers which are sadly no longer available.
I colored some cheesecloth and put it at the base of my card for some fun texture. I built the card up with various papers and then colored the chipboard frame with Sage, Avocado and Lucky embossing powders. I cut the Merry Christmas from the All Spruced Up chipboard and used Ginger embossing powder to color it. A couple of Prima flowers finish it off.
I used lace on this card for added texture. Again some Prima flowers for added interest.

Just a short post today. I want to thank Blue Fern Studios for giving me the opportunity to work with their wonderful products. I will miss being here but look forward to moving on to new things.

I wish you all the very best!

Fantastic Journey Layout

Hey Crafty Friends I have a layout using the Gorgeous Passages collection.  This time I was in the mood for "simple"!

I did some paper tearing for the background layers,  cut out a circle and also fussy cut out the Hotair balloon.

I heat embossed "fantastic Journey with Golden Seas and heat embossed the car chipboard with Taupe.  I also tucked in Lace 51 under the torn paper.

I also cut out a tag for another layer.  Behind the circle cutout I added cheese cloth which is one of my favorite background layers that adds amazing texture!

For the finishing touch I did some white sprinkles of White Acrylic paint!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Creating!

Sparkle

Hello! Hope today's post finds you well. I used the Vintage Christmas papers for this layout.

I wanted to do a more simplistic layout, so I chose to go with three basic colors, green, blue and white.

I did the usual background that I love, some stenciling and coloring with Whale Watch Blue mist. I heat embossed some drywall tape, with embossing powder, cut it into pieces and placed them around my photo. I also embossed some Fern Leaves with Sage, Avocado and Lucky embossing powders and placed them with my flowers from 49 & Market blooms in Sky and Blueberry.

The opposite flower cluster.

I used a few snowflakes from the Sparkle Snowflake pack and heat embossed them with some pearl and tinsel embossing powder.

I used the Ornate Wreath to frame my photo. I spent awhile preparing it. I used Sage, Avocado, Lucky, Taupe, Stormy Skies and Hot Cocoa embossing powders. I then applied some snowflake paste around my leaf to imitate snow.

Another snowflake.

I used the title from the Sparkle Snowflake package and cut it down to just Sparkle. I heat embossed it with Stormy Skies.

And that is the low down on my latest project.

All the best! :)

Paradise Layout using Glory of the Garden collection

Hello Blue Fern Fans!  I have a mixed media layout using the beautiful Glory of the Garden collection!  Have you created with this collection?  Be sure to share your projects at Blue Fern Fanatics Facebook Group!

For my background I used a stencil with some White Sand texture paste mixed with a little acrylic paint and then I sprinkled Blue Fern Studios Solar Flare glitter.  I also did some ink stamping with Blue Fern Studios Opulent Chandelier A Romantic Life Stamp.

I did some diecutting with the collection I diecut doilies,  flowers and leaves for my layering.

As I add my layers of diecuts I also love to use cheesecloth and Lace 51 from Blue Fern Studios,  I cut the lace in pieces and added it into my layers.

I used a few diecuts from the Ephemra pack from this collection,  I love butterflies and there are a few different butterflies in this pack.

I added a few flowers from my stash to add more depth to my design

My favorite elements to add are Art Stones,  Seedlings and sequins they add so much to your project!

I also used Blue Fern Studios Flouris Medallion Frame,   I cut it into pieces and heat embossed with Taupe and Goldilocks Blue Fern Studios embossing powders.

For my final touch to complete my layout I sprinkled some White Acrylic paint all over the layout!
I hope I have inspired you today to create some beautiful!
