Shabby Layout using Passages Collection

Hello Blue Fern Fans,  Phyllis here to share my first DT project using the New Gorgeous and fun Passages collection!  I did alot of diecutting for my layering on this layout.

I started my background stamping with Mayhem Textures & Scripted Medley on Itinterary paper then used texture paste thru a stencil from Finnabair.  Before the texture paste dried I sprinkled Dusty Rose and Solar Flare Glitter.

For the flowers I had some diecuts and layered some of the flowers for dimension.   I also have some doily diecuts for layering.  I used papers from Panorama,  Travelgue,  Inter Continental,  Homeward Bound and Bucket List.

I also cut out some tags and leaves using dies for added layers.  Once I had all my diecutting finished I started laying out my design.  I did some photo matting

I did some fussy cutting from Panorama paper and for the flowers I added buttons for the center.

I cut the chipboard in half and used that to frame my photo.  I also used some twine and Lace for added texture.

For the finishing touch on my layout I added Dusty Rose and Solar Flare glitter and Mauve seedlings along with art stones.

I love these papers from Passages,  they're so fun,  the designs and colors are gorgeous!
I hope you have a chance to grab this paper collection soon!
Thank you for stopping by!
Happy Creating!

Bouquet of Dreams

Hi there! Welcome to my blog. It is hard to believe that we are already at the Labor Day long weekend! Where did the summer go? I have another project for you today done with the Glory of the Garden collection.
I've mixed two collections on this layout. Radiance and Glory of the Garden.

I did some background work with a stencil some molding paste and mists. I also added some gold beads and some wishing bubbles from 49 & Market.
I used the paper Glory of the Garden for my background and then tore along all sides of the paper Effervescence from the Radiance collection and added it on top. I then tore two sheets My Sanctuary(Glory of the Garden) and a sheet from the Frolic collection into strips and placed them across the middle. I tucked some lace in between the layers for added texture.
I used the chipboard package called Bouquet of Dreams and heat embossed the top and bottom flourishes with Raspberry, Sage, Green Ivory, Avocado and Glistening Sand embossing powder.
I used the same technique on both.
Tucked in among the flowers is another piece of chipboard done in the same color scheme as the other two chipboard pieces. I used a combination of Prima and 49 & Market flowers. I also added some gold beads to the white flower to give it more character. You can also see a silver charm from the Chitter Chatter pack and some Art Stones from Prima.
I tried to balance the page out with similar flowers and another charm on the left side of the page.
My title also comes from the chipboard pack Bouquet of Dreams. I used Glistening Sand and Raspberry Embossing powder to decorate this.

And that is the end! I really like these papers in this collection! It is also fun to mix and match different collections. In fact I think my next layout will include several collection! A challenge if you will. I hope to see you then!
All the best! :)

Bird Wlatz Junk Journal

Today we are featuring a junk journal using the Bird Waltz paper collection designed by Jen Bishop. This project was created for a class we had at this year's Creativation by her mom just for us! the Journal shown here was made as a class sample.

This amazing journal has so many romantic details. The cover has a fabric binding, using the ephemera and cut a-parts from the paper as the focal point and snippets of lace for accents.

The pages are filled with the beautiful papers, bits of an old sheet music, lace trims

and fabric accents

She used clips with ribbons and stamped journal cards with little frames to place

throughout the Journal.

She has all sorts of tuck spots and pockets to add tags, photos, and journal spots.

Adding found objects is part of a Junk Journal and this paper doily fits right in

with the look of the papers.

She created this "Hidden Paperclip" to attach to the pages of the journal as an

extra design element.

The Journal is just filled with lace, ribbon, fabrics and of course the beautiful

Bird Waltz paper collection.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. If you have ever wanted to make a Junk Journal this is the perfect one to start with. Easy to make and has all the elements and

details you would want!

Thanks to Jen's mom for creating such a beautiful Journal.

Making Memories

Hello! I am back today with a new layout using the Glory of the Garden Collection from Blue Fern Studios.
For this layout I decided to go with the teal, blue and gold colors.
I prepared my background with clear Gesso then added some stencil work with a Tim Holtz stencil, Harlequin, and some Tiffany Lou mist. I then added some Seedlings in Aquamarine.
I used two blooms from the Blooming Beauties chipboard pack. I used honey, Sage and Chili Powder embossing powders to color these.
  The second bloom.
I used two butterflies from the Butterfly Garden chipboard pack. This one I embossed with Teal, Ebony and Buttercup embossing powders. I went over the yellow with Melted Butter Glitter.
I used a diecut doily to add an extra layer to my page and the packaging from the Emphemera pack to help back my photo. I used the  frame from the Butterfly Garden chipboard pack and embossed it in blue. I also added a few Art Stones for added texture.
For my title I used the Growing Memories from the Butterfly Garden pack as well and embossed it with teal.
  A close-up of the frame.
For this layout I added just a few flowers from the Radiant Bloom pack and the Happy Bloom pack. The butterfly also ca,e from the Butterfly Garden chipboard pack. I love that you can get so many pieces in one package!

And that's a wrap! All the best! :)

Radiance Shine Your Light Cards

Hi all, I'm back on the blog today to share a couple of cards using the 'Radiance" collection. I was looking for a soft light color pallet for some cards I wanted to make to send out uplifting happy mail to my family and friends.

I enjoy mixing and matching the colors and prints and delicate prints on the  Radiance papers worked well with the white paint I added to the edges. I painted several pieces of chipboard white as well to compliment the die cuts.

I added dimension and texture by fussy cutting flower images and slipping flower petals
between the layers.

I picked out a sentiment from the ephemera pack and painted a little chipboard butterfly with pearlescent paint, finishing off the card with a group of flowers

I was on a roll so I decided to make a second card! This time I wanted something a little different and made an Easel Card.

I added die cuts and snippets of lace in my layers

I used the frame and bird from the ephemera pack for the focal point. Plus lots of flowers to give the card a garden like quality

I really like the easel card style because sit it up!

Layers and layers of flowers and greenery give this card lots of texture!

Thanks for joining me on the blog today. I hope you enjoyed the projects.
