A Cup of Christmas Cheer

Christmas Greetings!

To start this sweet project I chose the candy cane striped paper called "Cheerful" then layered an adorable piece of the newsprint paper called "Sparling", both from the new Christmas Collection!

I tucked the tiny emphera calling card into a cup of cocoa after inking it red and edging it in copper glitter. I added a fussy cut candy cane for flavor!

I used a star shaped emphera with some fussy cut birds.

I think the wooden tag, joy, turned out so cute with a little brown paint. My gingerbread girl is sporting some Blue Fern embossing powder in gold and piece of lace, #7a. I further decorated a tiny tree, gingerbread buttons and a holly sprig with some burlap ribbon, all from my stash.

Thank you for looking and I wish you a cup full of Christmas blessings!

Christmas Kirigami Box - by Vicky Alberto

Happy Friday! I am here to share a handmade kirigami box... perfect for the gift giving season. This box was made with the phenomenal new Blue Fern Christmas Cheer collection. The coordinating ephemera and chipboard in this collection is so vintage and just my style! I added a white bloom from the Homespun collection and a pretty silver charm from the Radiance collection.

On the "Christmas Cheer" chipboard piece, I simply stippled gesso and sprayed with light green color mist - for a vintage look. At the bottom of the box topper I glued some gorgeous Blue Fern lace to polish it off. This box is 4"x 4"x 4". These take a bit of time to make but are worth putting something special in them. Here is a link to a tutorial I once did on how to make the basic box:

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my project.

Sparkle all the way

I have a Christmas layout for you today using the new Christmas Cheer collection from Blue Fern Studios.
This collection is full of traditional Christmas colors which I love!
I used a stencil from Fabrika Decoru and added some trees. I used liquids pearls and stickles to decorate them. I also added some snowflakes.
I used Jolly, Merry and Ecstatic papers to frame my photo.
I used the chipboard Sparkle Snowflakes for my title. I heat embossed my title with Ginger embossing powder.
I used some Blue Fern lace and sprayed it with Queen of Hearts mist and used it to divide my page. I also painted the chipboard snowflakes with gesso then sprinkled red glitter over them for some added sparkle.
I used beautiful Prima Flowers to embellish this page.
Last close-up.

I hope you enjoyed my layout and I will see you soon!
All the  best! :)

Double Z fold Christmas card

Hi everyone, DT Henriëtte here today sharing a double Z fold card made with the new
Christmas Cheer collection.

I found the inspiration and a tutorial for this special fold card on
Kathy Clement's Youtube channel.
I made the cardbase from ivory cardstock and decorated all the panels with the
beautiful Christmas Cheer patterned papers.

On the center panel I made a pocket for a big tag.
I will write my Christmas wishes on the tag.

I used the ephemera pieces from the collection to decorate the card but also
two chipboard pieces.
I embossed the chipboard with oatmeal embossing powder.
On the chipboard Christmas tree I glued Fir tree seedlings.

The back of the Z fold card is also decorated with the cheerful papers.

I'm very pleased with the result.
This special card will be on it's way soon,  I hope it's recipient likes it too.

Thanks for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog.

Hugs, Henriëtte.

Charming Traveler's Notebooks
by Gayle Agostinelli

I've used the Eclectic Charm collection to create two traveler's
notebook style journals.

The jewel tones and old world feel of the papers in this collection were perfect to showcase some of my antique laces!

The rich colors just draw you in and make you feel like you're at Grandma's house!

Such a joy to work with these beautiful designs
by Michelle Singh!

Beyond the paper collection, items used to create the journals:
This and That Charms
Flourish and Flowers Chipboard
Ornate Scroll Work Chipboard
Spread Your Wings Stamp
Charming Phrases Stamp
Charmed Medley Stamp

For a full flip through of the journals visit my You Tube channel:

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.
I hope you enjoyed my little journals!

Altered Clipboard with Eclectic Charm

Hello! Today's inspiration is this altered clipboard. I used the new Eclectic Charm
collection to decorate it.

The clipboard is about 9,5 x 6,5 inches. I bought it at a online office supply store.
First I covered the metal clip with gesso and painted it with a black metallic paint.
I also did this with the chipboard pieces.

I glued on layers of patterned papers to the clipboard and also added painted
chipboard and ephemera pieces.
All the papers and the clipboard edges are distressed with tea dye distress ink.

I also added little pieces of cheesecloth and Blue Fern laces.
These were coffee dyed to give them a vintage look.

I love how it turned out with the deep colors of the Eclectic Charm papers.

Products used:

Eclectic Charm patterned papers, chipboard,
calling cards and ephemera.
Lace: Blue Fern lace 2.

Thanks for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog!

Hugs, Henriëtte.
