(Vintage christmas)
------------------------------------------------

To start I used a stencil and pink ink, then with a pink ink pad I stamped with Departure Stamp in a few places and thereafter always with the same stamp I stamped with a brown ink pad.
 That's all for the background.

I stamped on a watercolor paper several times the wreath motif of the stamp Holiday Wreath, then I colored them and cut in leaves only. I used them as foliage for my roses from the collection Garden Blooms to which I added some fake snow.

I altered my Shabby Flakes chipboards with SNOW embossing powder and I also added fake snow on these.A small printed chipboard from Homespun - Printed Chipboard and one white flower from Apricot Blooms finishes this side of my layout.

As a base, I used Vintage Christmas's printed chipboard oval and I created a wreath with the folliage remaining cut out earlier.

Of all the winter chipboards the Winter Deers are really my fav, just because i'm so in love with this wonderful animal. I could put on all my layout :)
This one is embossed with Copper and on top of it I added fake snow too, like my flowers...

This background is a little more complicated, much texture and several pieces of chipboard Chain Link Panel that I embossed with Night Sky.

On shrink plastic I stamped a butterfly from the stamp Spring Accents after cooking it, I added some glitters ( Red Wine ) Some flowers and a piece of torn lace 5 complete this side.

I know we don't see much but I embossed my chipboard Rose Shield with Baby Pink. He is hidden by flowers and another piece torn of lace. My title cut in three pieces is embossed with Plum.

On my pink flowers from Spring Florals collection , another butterfly in shrink plasticstamped with Bourbon Street stamp.

I embossed my Organic Vine Corner chipboard and my cutout doily with Ivory powder.

On an acetate sheet, I stamped one butterfly from Butterflies stamp and I cut it.

* You Make Me Smile *
( Remnants )
------------------------------------------------

Another background a little complicated, that I will not explain to you, for lake of time ...
But I can tell you about this picture. you see myself in the company of my little cat saved. I found him abandoned by another human, just a few months old ... His name is Gaston and I love him so much, I can't see my life without him.

Sometimes, I think I should put less details LOL
I created from the Garden Window chipboard, a vine. All folliage used
are embossed with Green Ivory powder.

The chipboard embossed in Night Sky, on my background, is actually the interior of my Garden Window chipboard that I cutted. The leaves embossed in Green Ivory under the window shutter come from the Forest Branch chipboard. I will use the remaining branch and the bird later ...

I really love the effect of what the berries makes with the mix of flowers. Check in the description below for all details of what I've used. Under the flowers, the Blooming Flourishes chipboard also embossed in Green Ivory powder.
When you order them, you receive two identical pieces, I used both.

For my title, You Make Me Smile I embossed a first time in Baby Pink powder. Then, at just a few places, I used Lavender Eggs powder for a slight contrast and reminiscent of the purple of my layout.

I really love mini beads, and the Blue Fern Studio's seedlings are so cute and polyvalent. Here I've used Mauve and Purple Haze for adding texture and details.
I've mixed together two glitters : Pyrite & Spring Posy in a secret blend ... for make flakes.
I added them on my background.

January Inspiration by France Ringuette

Good morning bloggers,

Today is an exciting day for me, as I am getting the opportunity to share with you my very first projects for Blue Fern Studios.

First, let me introduce myself.

My name is France, I am a french Canadian living in the Montreal area of Canada. I am blessed to have 2 young adult boys and a loving husband. You'll see thru my 2018 projects that my family and our passion for traveling are often the focus points of my projects. I also work in Marketing in the Medical device field. Crafting is my relaxation. I enjoy mainly making scrapbook pages, but you will also see me making cards, tag, art journals and mixed media canvases.

Please come say hi, it's always fun to meet new crafty friends.

Sweet Dreams (Layout #1)

The inspiration from this page started with this amazing paper in the Remnants collection called Devonshire. I fell in love with the printed flowers and birds on this particular page.

I started playing with my chipboards by adding seedlings to cover them, I have to say that I was very pleased with the results and love the dimension this brings to the layout. I used Meadow seedlings.

The title, oh what color to chose is always a challenge I find. I was intrigued by this new embossing powder called Night Sky, at first, I wasn't certain it would have a fit on a boy's page but at the end I enjoy the contrast that it has with the Meadow seedlings, so I opted for this color.

The center of the Remnants bloom flowers has a slight yellow highlight that I covered in white gesso, then glued a mix of mauve seedlings and red wine glitter. The results are amazing.

Around my picture I used night sky embossing powder with weathered doilies stamp set. On my chipboard circle flourish small frame, I used one of the new colors green ivory

Once my layout is done, then I added touches of red wine and icicle glitter to my flowers and some on the paper.

Remember this Day : Sintra Portugal (Layout #2)

If you enjoy traveling and you've never ben to Portugal, trust that this needs to be added to your bucket list. Sintra is a beautiful city that has amazing Unesco sites that are spectacular to visit. When I looked at the stunning paper from the REMNANTS collection, I knew it was perfect for this picture. This paper is Bloomsbury, I loved the old books look at the detailed printing of the flower and clock.
The title is part of the Remnants chipboard series and so perfect for a capturing any precious moment.

I wanted to add a bit more red to the page, so I chose to work with a stencil, light molding past and this amazing Garnet embossing powder. Once the embossing was done, I wanted to add more stamping to the background. I chose to use the Vintage Edges stamp set.

I love adding flowers to my projects, on this layout I added some from the Remnants Bloom and Floral Collections. I also cut out some flowers from the amazing lace 4 set.

For the chipboard, I inked the Shabby Brick bits. Once my layout was almost completed, I added the final touches with splatters of inks, white gesso and touches of Sterling Silver Seedlings.

Love (Layout #3)

I just loved this picture of my niece with the new born son Ayden, I've been enjoying making many pages for her recently. I have to say that this one is simple but oh so happy about how it turned out.

The starting point was this amazing paper from the Happy Accident collection called Incident. I love textured backgrounds and this one does the work for you, so rich in details, I opted not to alter it and just build layers.

I selected to emboss the Chicken Wire Panel with Blue Sky embossing powder. I did the same with the Love title chipie.

On my flowers, I opted to add some touches of white gesso and Blue Ice glitter.

January Inspiration by Debbie Burns

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited to be back designing for Blue Fern Studios!
I love designing with all of the fabulous products!
I live in Maryland, and am an Assistant Project Manager for an Interior General Contractor.
My job keeps me extremely busy, but I love it.  I have two adult children, a son and daughter and one precious dog.  I've been scrapbooking for 18 years and my style has evolved over the years.

You can find me on:

Today I have 3 layouts to share using the new Remnants collection.  Love this new collection!

"You Make Me Smile"
I applied some masking and light misting to the Devonshire background paper.

Lots of beautiful flowers from Remnants Blooms, Soft Blossoms and Tranquility Lilies.  I cut apart the Branch Set chipboard and embossed it with a mixture of Avocado and Seafoam, and then applied some Meadow Seedlings.  I placed some Bohemian Flowers embossed with Pink Dust and sprinkled with Pink Pearl Glitter beneath some of the flowers.  I placed some Lace 4 all around my picture.

To the left of this picture you can see part of the Corner Flourish,  embossed with Taupe and Pink Dust as well as some of the printed chipboard pieces.  Beneath the pink flower I placed a Leafy Page Accent chipboard piece embossed the same as the Corner Flourish and added some Tickled Seedlings.  I used the same mixture of Taupe and Pink Dust on the title.

"You Are My Inspiration"
I applied some stamping to the Vignette background paper using the Remnants Collage, Essential Textures and Tattered Newsprint stamps and applied some light purple mist.

Lots of layering using the Highgate, Callaway and Mini Remnants papers and pieces from the printed chipboard. I used the Fading Blooms Chipboard, embossed Garnet to the left of my picture.  I added flowers from both the Remnants Flowers and Remnants Blooms, two that I sprayed purple.  I added some Red Wine Glitter to the dark red mini roses.  Beneath the flower cluster I placed a piece from the Leafy Page Accents embossed with Iridescent Gray. I randomly added some Mauve and Burgendy Seedlings.

I cut apart the Frame Collage and used it in different areas on the layout.  I embossed it with a mixture of Plum and Garnet embossing powders.  Beneath the picture I used some of the printed chipboard.

I lightly embossed the title with Garnet and Magenta Embossing Powers.

"Find Joy In The Journey"
I lightly misted the Westfield paper and added lots of layering under the picture using Mini Remnants paper. I used flowers from the Remnants Blooms, which I sprayed light brown along with some Memories Blooms, Tranquil Blooms and Courtship Blooms.

I embossed the Thistle Spray and Blooming Flourish with a mixture of Rusted Roof and Nutmeg Embossing Powders and added Mustard, Paprika and Twig Seedlings.  To the right I placed a piece from the printed chipboard.

The Leafy Ring was embossed Nutmeg and the title has a mixture of Nutmeg and Rusted Roof Embossing Powders.  The Tattered Butterfly was embossed with the same mixture with some added In The Navy Embossing Powder.

A Look at 2017

2017 has been an amazing year for Blue Fern Studios.  We have introduced new paper collections, added many new chipboard and stamp designs, and our new Seedlings.

Each week on our blog and social media sites, we have shared gorgeous projects from our talented Design Team.  As we say goodbye to 2017 and move on to 2018, we want to thank each of these amazing women.  They are so very creative and put their hearts into each project they create.

Here is a look back at some of the favorites from each designer:

Our first layout was created by Babi Kind.  Babi selected this layout as one of her favorites of 2017 and said, "I can't believe this year past by so quickly.  I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to share some of my work with you and to work with this amazing and talented team. There were so many nice collections and projects and it was hard to choose a favorite from 2017.  For some reason, maybe because I've spent a large part of my life in a tropical country, I like creating summer projects.  The color, textures, and everything from summer makes me happy and energized. This layout reminds me of a great time we had this year traveling with my daughter, discovering new things and enjoying the beautiful weather."

Tartine told me that she spends a lot of time when creating a layout, and I think you will see that below.  When she sent this layout to me, she said, "It's really hard for me to choose my favorite layout, and especially to say why she is my favorite. I think it's this one because it reminds me that we must never give up our dreams and believe in ourselves Thank you so much BFS for make my dream come true."

Pascale couldn't choose which layout was her favorite, so she sent me a couple to choose from.   I selected this beautiful monocromatic layout.  Pascale is known for creating  layouts using images of magnificent buildings.  This photo is a view from the Monastery of Claregalway that was taken during her trip in Ireland.

Vera also couldn't choose her favorite layout, but sent me several to choose from.  I chose this one using paper from the beautiful Seaside Cottage collection.  I absolutely love the movement she created in her design.

Annie let me select one of my favorite layouts that she created.  When I saw this one, I immediately knew it was the one.  The stunning design is fresh and unique.  Annie used the beautiful designs on the paper and highlighted them.

I chose this layout from Catherine.  First is the amazing background she has created.  I love the way the gold embossed chipboard looks against the background, and all the lovely Blue Fern flowers that frame this adorable photo.

Wendy created this sweet layout which was my favorite.  Every piece of this design fits exactly where it needs to - and brings the entire thing together.  The harmony of colors are perfect with this fun photo.

It has been an amazing year and we are so blessed to have spent it with such an amazing group of creative women.  Thank you to all of you for your inspiration!
