All Natural with Autumn Anthology- By Keren Tamir

Hi Everyone
Its Keren here on the Blue Fern Studios Blog featuring the Autumn Anthology collection again.

"All Natural"

For this first layout I used the Gazebo paper which features a beautiful Gazebo across the right side. I used it to surround the chipboard frame around the photo.

I used the chipboard shrine frame around the photo. I primed it with white gesso and then sprayed it with the Blue Fern Studio Leaf spray and mixed it with another yellow coloured spray. Then I stamped on it with the brick stamp from the essential textures set.

I added flowers, butterflies and also used the brick stamp around the page to add to the garden feel of the layout.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>

"Cute Smile"

For this layout I used the Autumn Anthology Balcony paper.
I smeared some white gesso on the background and then sprayed all three Blue Fern Studios sprays for this collection: Leaf, Persimmon and Sky.
Then I stamped the sprayed area with one of the Weathered Doilies from the stamp set.

I framed the photo in the smile clip frame from the set. Then I used the Paisley and Vine medley chipboard and the Cute title word to embellish. All chipboard pieces where inked with both Leaf and Persimmon sprays.

Thank you so much for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog

Have a wonderful day!!!

Autumn Anthology With Debbie

Hi everyone!  Debbie back again, to share two layouts I created
with the Autumn Anthology Collection.

Lots of paper layering and  fussy cutting on this layout, showcasing a picture of my children from years ago.  I used several papers from the Autumn Anthology collection:  Gazebo, Newsworthy, LeBallon, Cottage and Calling Cards.

Here are a few closeup of the chipboard I used:
Ironwork Edges sprayed with Imagine Ink Mist Sky and dabbed with some dark blue ink.

Willow Wild Flower sprayed with Imagine Ink Mist Persimmon and dabbed with some dark brown ink.

Layering Stems sprayed with Imagine Ink Mist Persimmon.

And for my title Yesterday from Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday sprayed with Imagine Ink Mist Sky and dabbed with some dark blue ink.

My next layout was created using the October sketch using papers from the Autumn Anthology Collection.
I used Calling Cards, Gazebo and LeBallon papers on my layout.

Lots of layering under my photo along with a Double Swirl Small chipboard piece which I sprayed with Imagine Ink Mist Sky.  I also used the Floral Lattice Bits chipboard which I painted apricot.

The Always and Forever chipboard was sprayed with the Imagine Ink Mist in Sky.

A lovely cluster of flowers and another view of the Floral Lattice Bits Chipboard.

I hope I have inspired you with my layouts!  Autumn Anthology is a beautiful collection of papers.

Natural look with Vintage Christmas collection by Wilma.

For this picture I wanted a  natural looking layout with a winter feeling.
I found the perfect background paper in the Vintage Christmas collection.

As you see I left a small strip on the right side.
It is the brandname strip and I can always use them or parts of it.
The title poste is a picture I made from a very old postbox in Locarno .
They still use it!

Today I waited a few hours with this post , hoping we get some sunlight.
But nothing is happening......
This because I used the new glitter Blue Fern Studios brings out.
It is so fine and beautiful in real life.
But no sun, no glitter showing up on my pictures...
Next time :)
The red spatters in the background are made with imagine mist .
Color Persimmon

Behind my photocluster I used the Twiggy Branch chipboard.
One of my favorites, it is so shapeable.
To give it this nature look I painted it with 3 colors acrylic paint in the brown tones .

Thats it for today, thanks for visiting the blog.
Have a great weekend!

A Layout Featuring Vintage Christmas with Debbie

Hi everyone!  Debbie here with you today sharing a layout I created with the new paper collection Vintage Christmas along with some of the new Imagine Ink products; mists, embossing powder and glitter.
I love the paper collection!  Gorgeous colors and details!  For my background I used the Wonderland paper and did some fussy cutting with the Magical paper and used the Calling Cards for some layers behind my picture, which by the way is me as a child.  I primed the background paper with some clear gesso and added some stenciling.  Once the stenciling was dry I added some of the Imagine Ink Mica Color Mist in Cotton Candy along with some pink microbeads from my stash and some Imagine Ink Glitter in Pyrite.

I primed the chipboard words Sparkle and Merry with some white gesso.  After it dried I sprayed it with the new Imagaine Ink Mist Jingle Bells and added some Pyrite Glitter.

Tucked beneath my flower cluster I used the chipboard piece Dresden Corsage which I primed with white gesso, sprayed with the Imagine Ink Mist Cotton Candy and applied some of the new Petal embossing powder.  I then embossed a layering stem chipboard piece with the new Lucky embossing powder.

So excited about all of the new products and can't wait to share more projects with you.  You can find all of the new products here in the store.

Thanks for stopping by!

Two more layouts by Wilma with the beautiful Autumn Anthology collection .

For my first layout we have to go back in time ........ 40 years !
I used the original picture of young me, I become vintage :)
The background paper is one of the Autumn Anthology collection, Gazebo
To create more interest I use the circuitry chipboard as my mask.
I had to spray it anyway with gesso for another layout.
So now I had a white chipboard piece and textured background at the same time.

Behind the picture I used the Wild Flourish frame .
And one bird from the Little Birds set.
All I did was adding some thin gelmedium to keep the original natural chipboard color.

I cut a few paper flowers from another paper out of the collection.
Glued it behind my flower.

My next layout , also made with the Autumn Anthology collection.
The picture is about 25 years old, bad quality .
But thats what we had than....and we should just use them on our layouts.

For the background paper I used the Parfumerie paper.
I toned down with gesso, leaving out some of the beautiful background pattern.
I pushed  a embossingfolder in the wet gesso to get the checkered texture.
Than I colored the background with 3 of the new mists:

The chipboard ( checker bits ) was inked up with a chipboard kind of color .
Than I embossed here and there with one of the new embossingpowders : petal
To tone down,  again some mixed media ink.

New are the glitters and embossingpowders at Blue fern Studios.
Just when I was finishing this layout my package arrived !
So I added some on my flower.
A little glitter never hurts :)
I used the Pyrite , a beautiful goldtone.

Thank you for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog.
Have a great week

A layout and a micro-album by Marie-Josée

Hello folks!

Today, I have two projects to show you, each featuring a different collection.

"Love You Forever" layout

I created this layout with the Autumn Anthology collection.

I created my background with gesso, on a piece of cardboard that I recycled (I bought tiles for a backsplash and they were backed with cardboard, so I kept all the pieces to use as background).

I used two different Autumn Anthology papers, Calling Cards and Robin.

I used a piece of the Turkish Panel for my background.

I also used two stamps from the Essential Textures set. I also used a piece of the Calling Cards paper beside my photo.

"Famille" micro-album

This teeny tiny album, created with the Frolic collection, measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/2", and the covers measure 2 3/4" x 2 3/4".

I used chipboard under my covers to make the album more sturdy.

I used both sides of the album.

The chipboards I used are from the French Words set and the Memory Frames set.

A first look at Vintage Christmas ~ with Sandi Clarkson

Hello, Blue Fern fans!

Sandi Clarkson here with you today sharing my first Vintage Christmas project!
I think I squealed a bit when I received my Design Team box the other day ... so many lovely new items! Wow!

The Noel paper was treated with clear gesso and then super heavy gesso with a stencil. Imagine Ink in "Winter Mist" was misted and spread with water to enhance the stenciling. The "Carribean" glitter was then scattered over the background paper for lots of shine. Yes, we now have glitter!

The chipboard pieces were all primed with gesso and then coated with the Imagine Ink in "Winter Mint" ( Snow Medley), "Leaf" (Eclectic Hearts), "Jingle Bells" (Garden Window) and "Cotton Candy" plus "Persimmon" (Wish, Wonder, Dream).  The Snow Medley piece was enhanced with "Fern" embossing powder, the Wish with "Poinsettia" embossing powder and the Eclectic Hearts with "Lucky" embossing powder. The Garden Window was misted with "Jingle Bells," then dusted with "Pyrite" glitter.

Paper layers were cut and placed behind the Window. Flowers and bling were added as a final touch.

Here are some close-ups:

I love Blue Fern Studios chipboard and had fun with some older pieces as well as some new ones! Having mist, embossing powder and glitter that mix and match  with the papers is wonderful! You can see that I like to do my embossing in more of a random way versus total coverage. For the Eclectic Hearts I added in some variegation with my green Gelato. In case you're wondering, the Garden Window does have Jingle Bell mist, a smidgen of inks and then is dusted with Pyrite glitter. One window shutter was cocked to reveal the paper beneath it.

The Snow Medley piece has been cut in half and tucked into two different spots. The Winter Mint mist and the Fern embossing powder co-ordinate beautifully! Winter Mint os going to match so many of the BFS papers!

More random embossing on the Wish piece. Again, the colors go so well together! Try Persimmon and Poinsettia together .. I think you'll like the combo.

Well, that's my first project with Vintage Christmas! I can't wait to start another even though the weather is still hot here in Texas. Might go neutral this time instead of red and green. Hmm ...

Thanks for coming by!
