Today we would like to show you how designer, Melinda Thompson, has used the beautiful Blue Fern Deja Vu collection to create a this precious layout.  The soft colors are the perfect backdrop for this sweet photo of her baby boy.

Here is a close-up of the Harlequin Panel which Melinda has positioned behind the photo, along with a piece (The Story) from the Arrow Words chipboard set.   You can see in the image above that she has also used small sections of the Harlequin Panel throughout her layout.  She has stamped images from the Halftone stamp set to add visual texture to her project.

We hope Melinda has inspired you with this beautiful layout!

All the entries this month were wonderful.  We wish we could feature them all!

Thanks to all who participated and congratulations to our winner, and those layouts that were featured.

We would love to have you join us in June, so grab some Blue Fern Studios paper and/or chipboard and create a layout using the sketch.  A link to this month's sketch challenge can be found in our right sidebar.

"Cherish' layout and video tutorial

Hello friends!

It is the month of June now and the summer is upon us! I'm looking forward to spending some time with the kiddos this month as school is out. What about you?

Today I have a video tutorial for Blue Fern Studios to share with you, using their new fabulous collection Deja Vu as well as their gorgeous chippies.

Here is the project:

I've focused a lot more on chipboard alteration for this project rather than creating my background, simply because the products are just so pretty!

Some close-ups:

My title piece "Cherish". I'm loving black gesso and how it makes the chipboard pops!

The butterfly dangle from "Deja Vu Dangles". Such a sweet little piece to work with.

Vintage Label chipboard which I had fun stamping with the new Blue Fern stamp.

And here is the video of how I put the whole thing together:

Blue Fern products used:

Deja Vu collection (Atelier, La Plume, Tresors, Luxor)
Deja Vu Dangles Chippies
"Cherish" word
Vintage Labels
Journey Stamp
Half-tone Stamp

And that's all I have, thanks for dropping by!

love,

A couple of pages from Bente using Deja Vu and Montage collections.

Hi, today it's my turn again here on  the blog and I have made some pages to showcase some of the beautiful Blue Fern Studios chipboards and papers. They are such a treat to work with.

Here is my first page.

I decided on some pink and yellow tones mainly and painted my 'Floral Medley frame' using a pretty yellow tone that I picked up from the designs in the paper.
The papers are from the 'Montage ' collection.

I used some Blue Fern Studios stamps as well.
The hot-air balloon is part of the 'Journey' set and I even used some of te stamps from  'Halftone'.

Here are a few close ups as well:

I stamped the balloon once on a pink paper and once on a yellow one.

My second page for today :

Previously I have focused on the yellow and lilac tones in the 'Deja Vu' papers as these are really some of my fave colours, but as you see it's possible to pick a different colour scheme entirely :-)

I used the green sheet for the background adnd the wood patterned paper on top. As these are pretty neutral you can really pick almost any colour to add as accents and embellishments.

Here are a few close ups too:

I used the new 'Deja Vu border chippie' painted green as a base for my page.
I added a summery photo and picked pretty, illuminant yellow and red to go with it.
It's such a vibrant and energetic combination.

I included a chipboard from the 'Ironworks accents' as a base for a small embellishmentcluster.

This ornamental chipboard border that goes with the Deja Vu collection is one of my preferred pieces right now. I hope you enjoyed my pages today and you will be back soon again to see what my friends in the DT are up to!

Have a lovely day!
