February Inspiration by Elena Volchkova

Hi everyone! Today, I have prepared for you three layouts using the beautiful Blue Fern Studio materials.

The first two are from the wonderful new Serendipity collection.

Spring in the Air layout

The first layout is of the blossoming spring. When around bird song, the soul also sings.
On the photo - my friend Irina. She is so good in a natural style.

In the background you can see the fence from Country Garden stamp with  Imagine Ink Honey Embossing Powder.

I like to emboss chipboard with a few shades of embossing powder to create a color transition. Here I have used Nutmeg and Honey Embossing Powder.

Sage and lime green also combine well together to create a very interesting transition of color!

Blue Fern Studio Supply List:

Paper:  Serendipity: Chronicle
Chipboard: All Natural Set, Layering Stems, Shabby Brick Bits
Stamp: Country Garden
Imagine Ink Embossing Powder: Nutmeg, Honey, Sage, lime

Sea Romance layout

My second layout is very romantic and all about the dreams of a young girl.
About the purest of feelings and about the sea!

For this layout I have added natural shells and various small things - beads, thread, sequins, paillettes. The Seaweed сhipboard was covered with mixture of Imagine Ink embossing powders in Sea Mist and Breeze, which give the the perfect combination!

Here I used the Imagine Ink Cotton Candy embossing powder to color the chipboard word "Cherish".

Magic butterflies carry away our dreams!

Blue Fern Studio Supply List:

Paper:  Serendipity: Merriment
Chipboard: Jeweled Page Dangles, "Adore, Love, Cherish", Seaweed

Summer Joy Layout

This layout I have made for the Blue Fern February Sketch
using the Paisley & Vine paper, which is ideal for summer photos. Blush and Timeless collections add the wonderful blooming accents.

The Flutter Medley chipboard is so interesting.  I used a mix of Imagine Ink embossing powder to color the chipboard. Cotton Candy and Mystic Plum - they look good together!

Blush: Fondness
Timeless: Calling Cards

"Cherish' layout and video tutorial

Hello friends!

It is the month of June now and the summer is upon us! I'm looking forward to spending some time with the kiddos this month as school is out. What about you?

Today I have a video tutorial for Blue Fern Studios to share with you, using their new fabulous collection Deja Vu as well as their gorgeous chippies.

Here is the project:

I've focused a lot more on chipboard alteration for this project rather than creating my background, simply because the products are just so pretty!

Some close-ups:

My title piece "Cherish". I'm loving black gesso and how it makes the chipboard pops!

The butterfly dangle from "Deja Vu Dangles". Such a sweet little piece to work with.

Vintage Label chipboard which I had fun stamping with the new Blue Fern stamp.

And here is the video of how I put the whole thing together:

Blue Fern products used:

Deja Vu collection (Atelier, La Plume, Tresors, Luxor)
Deja Vu Dangles Chippies
"Cherish" word
Vintage Labels
Journey Stamp
Half-tone Stamp

And that's all I have, thanks for dropping by!

love,

Two Layouts and a Card with Rae

Hello, everyone! It's Rae with you today to share some projects I've made this month.

"Wonder" Card

For this card, I used a couple of sheets of paper of the Blue Fern Garden line, Parlour and Timeless. I used a light brown distress ink to give it the aged look.

In this closeup, you can see the four pieces of chipboard I used, each treated in a different way.
The bird is from the "Little Birds" set is simply colored with brown archival ink. The title, "Wonder" from "Winter Titles" set was primed with white paint, then I randomly placed light blue embossing powder so some of the white would show through, then I lightly covered the whole piece with a light brown distress ink. The foliage peeking out under the flowers are remnants I had form some "Layering Stems" that painted white and lightly misted with an olive green mist.

For the "Majestic Frame," I covered the whole piece with an embossing medium and sprinkled brown, gold, and blue embossing powders. I repeated the process three times to get nice coverage.

"Cherish" Layout

For this layout, I used papers from the Ombre Dreams collection, along with some green cardstock.

I used the "Blue Fern Frame" for the focus of my design. I treated this piece by spraying it with a brown mist, letting it dry, then tracing the details with dimensional paint to create a look somewhat reminiscent of a gilded metal look. I finished the look by spraying the whole piece again with the brown spray to get into the little crevices of the dimensional paint.

I used green dimensional paint and poured purple and coral embossing powders over the entire "Cherish" piece while the paint was still wet. Then, I used a heat tool, and overdid it so the paint would bubble up for this dimensional distressed look.

"Key to my Heart" Layout

I used papers from both the Blue Fern Garden and Ombre Dreams collections, picking out light blue and light brown tones, along with some cardstock.

In this closeup, you can see the paper that I stamped with a script stamp to alter the look of it.

I treated all of the pieces with gesso.  On the "Ket to my Heart" title and key, I used two shades of brown distress ink.

On the "Large Roman Clock Set" I used various distress and chalk inks.

For the "Wild Flourish Bundle" I sprayed it with an ivy mist to create drops, then used more light brown distress ink.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my projects today. Thanks for stopping by!
