Merry Christmas!
Did you spend wonderful Christmas of everybody?
Christmas took a lot of photographs!
I want to introduce 12 inches of layouts of Christmas today.

【special】
We ate a Christmas dinner at home.
It is the fourth Christmas for my daughter.
What sellout does not get the paper of this Vintage Christmas series anymore!
So does this become the work using last Vintage Christmas?

This time I had piled up brown ink → Gold ink → gesso with a sponge.

May Projects by Angelica Franssen

Hello friends! Today I'm here to share with you my May projects using the Deja Vu Collection.

My first project is a layout based on May's sketch. I lightly painted the La Plume paper with some watered down gesso. Then did some misting. I used the Friperies paper as the background photo mat.

For the title I used the word "Wonder" from the Delight Set. I also used the Deja Vu Collage Border. The three chipboard pieced I used were all treated the same. First I applied gesso and misted with three different color mists.

The bird cage is from the "Tweets" Collection.

I loved the colors in the Lustre paper. It's like a greenish gray, so I mixed in some purple. I also used the Atelier paper for some background layering.

The title "Discover" is from the  Journey, Discover, Explore Set. I misted it with a dark color so it can pop off the page.

When I was searching for a photo I found the young  woman at the door or window. I thought that the Sara's Screen Door chippy was a perfect match.
I used two of the four Small Symphony Corners to further frame my photo.

For my last project I made a canvas. I took a 10x8 and put three small 3x3 on top for dimension. I first treated the canvas with mist. Then did some masking with modeling paste. I used some scraps from the Un Voyage A Paris papers.
I used bits from the Quatrefoil Panel.

The butterflies are from the Magical Monarchs Set.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Kelly's May Projects

Good morning, Blue Fern fans! Kelly here today.
Have you had a peek at the new Ombré Dreams paper collection? It is absolutely stunning..and I had a chance to create with it in time for my post this month :)

"You Color My World"

I was immediately drawn to the purple/yellow colors in "Julianna's Dream" for my background paper. I added some mixed media work atop that, then layered in strips torn from "Shannon's Dream." My title was cut from the "Dream Cards" sheet.

In addition to the gorgeous new papers, I have used some new chipboard designs, as well, including this Treasured Floral Frame, which was given a coating of gesso and then sprayed with a few pastel mists to match the background colors.

I also cut a few pieces from the Quilted Page Panel, painted with gesso, sprayed with mists, then dusted gently with Primary Elements Artist Pigments for lots of shimmer.

"Simply Beautiful"

This next page is a bit more subdued and simple. I chose the Blue Fern Garden "Signature" paper for my background, as I thought the subtle texture and color was perfect for my photo. I then layered scraps from other Blue Fern Garden papers, cardboard, fabric, and tissue paper for lots of texture.

Above you can see I have used one of the Symphony Corners - Medium, which was embossed with two different embossing enamels, sprayed with mists, then gently dabbed with gesso. Into the cluster I also added bits of the Berry Stems.

At the top corner of my photo, I added one of the Symphony Corners - Small. This piece was treated the same as the other, and once again I tucked in pieces of the Berry Stems here and there.

"Dream"

This last page, I simply pulled various scraps from my stash, (including a few of the cut off strips from the bottoms of Blue Fern Garden papers!) and layered up my background. To really draw focus to the photo, I framed it twice using Circle Links and Beaded Strings. These were both given a coat of a few colors of chalk ink, then painted using Silks in various colors. The photo doesn't quite capture it, but they are super shimmery!

On either side of the photo I have also added an arrow from the Directions set. These were treated the same as the frames.

{2} Different Cards With Patter & A Sketch Layout

Today I wanted to share two very different cards with you. The first is a mixed media card with lots of paint, embossing paste, etc. The second is a simple quick card without any paint or mixed media. So, if you need to create something in a hurry, try the second card. Otherwise, if you want to dabble in some paint and fun, try the first card! Let's have a look.

Today
This card uses lots of paint and mixed media. I used the Blue Fern Garden Calling Cards paper for the sentiment. I also used the Symphony Corners and Mini Ring Things chipboard.

The Symphony Corner chipboard is painted with a layer of gesso then a pink mist. The Mini Ring Things chipboard I cut into individual circles and covered each piece in gesso. Then I placed a few rings on the card.

Just Because
This card is a more simple card. I used the gorgeous collage image from the Blue Fern Garden Calling Cards paper for the background. I then added some ribbon, flowers, and a flair button for the sentiment. I also added a piece of the Blue Fern Studios Bits of Honey chipboard. I left it raw because I liked that color against the other colors on the card.

Sweet Max
This is the 8 1/2 x 11 layout I created using the Blue Fern Studios April Sketch Challenge. You still have until midnight EST tomorrow to join in the fun!
To color the Blue Fern Bit heart chipboard, I put down a layer of gesso followed by a blue mist. While it was still wet, I "stamped" a piece of bubble wrap on each piece to get this fun effect.

September projects by Kerryn Lawson

Hi, it's Kerryn here today to share my September projects with you.

For my first project I have a card that was created with papers from 7 Dots Studio 'Love is in the Air' collection and teamed with Symphony Corners (small).

The Symphony Corners were primed with gesso before being painted with a peachy coloured paint.  A random coating of glitter was applied before they were adhered to the card to form the base for my embellishment cluster.

For my second project I have used papers from 7 Dots Studio 'Domestic Goddess' to create a layout about my beautiful girl.

The small leaves in the All Natural Set were the perfect size for my floral cluster.  They were simply inked with green ink.

Inspired by Kelly's use of the punched out bits on her layouts last month I have added some punched out bits from the Quatrefoil panel.  They have been inked with a sandy coloured ink and embossed with distress embossing powder.

The bits of honey have become one of my favourite Blue Fern Studios products!  I have inked the bits of honey with brown ink and tucked them amongst my paper layers.

Two hearts have been inked with dusky pink ink with brown ink applied to the edges with a foam pad, layered together and tucked among the floral cluster.

For my final project, another layout, I have used 7 Dots Studio 'Domestic Goddess' papers and stickers.

I am a huge fan of chipboard words and The Optimist Word Set is full of lots of great words for your projects.  I have painted the You Shine! phrase with a spray mist.  Painting, rather than spraying, gives a more watery finish.  Make sure that you prime your chipboard with gesso before painting though so that your colour shows more true to life.

The Icons (Set One) has been put to good use on this page.  The heart was covered with sequins and finished with a button.

The guitar and star were layered together, primed with gesso and then painted with a combination of spray mists in three different colours.  A light sanding around the edges gives a nice worn finish.

An arrow from the directions set has been used to draw focus to the alphabet and phrase stickers.  The arrow was primed with gesso and painted with spray mist.
