Waiting for the Bus by Tracy Funk

Today we welcome back our July Blue Fern Fan of the Month, Tracy Funk.
She has a super sweet layout to share with you today.

I'm so pleased to be back with my second layout as the Blue Fern Studios "Fan of the Month" for July. It's called "Waiting for the Bus" and features a photo of my sister Lori in 1960.

I used papers from Blue Fern Studios' Garden Life and Happy Accident collections.

On the Wallflowers paper that I used for the background I did some stencilling around the edges with molding paste.  While the paste was still wet, I sprinkled it with Baby Pink Imagine Ink embossing powder and heat set it.

I painted the Spirit of Heartland chipboard piece blue then applied watery white paint overtop with a sponge stippler.  I used an embossing marker to ink the flower parts and heat embossed them with the Baby Pink Imagine Ink embossing powder.  I also inked around the edge in black.

I also used a piece of Blue Fern Studios printed chipboard (one of the corner pieces).

I used the Garden Blooms flowers.

Products used:

Garden Life paper - Wallflowers
Garden Life paper - Merriment
Happy Accident paper - Lucky
Baby Pink Embossing Powder
Garden Blooms

March projects by Tartine Peluche

Hi Everyone!

Today it's my turn and I'm so excited to share with you my new projects.

For beginning, here is my first layout..
I used a paper from Chesterville collection.
I worked a lot on my background again, and I really love the result.

-It's your story-

The main chipboard is Rose Wreath which I cut into parts.
I embossed with the Snow embossing powder.

I wanted to give impression that the chipboard flowers were packed in fabrics.
I use coarse fabric jute. All the background is created from pearls and small rocks such as a packing full of jewelry. Just add some flowers harmoniously and the trick is played.

This chipboard is the rest of the Spirit of Heartland which I used last month on another layout. I simply embossed with Sand & Sea Embossing Powder after putting white gesso.
For this page I wanted to use white flowers, so I chose that of Heartland Blossom tissue.

Blue Fern Studios products I've used:
Paper:
Chesterville - Whitford
Chipboards:
-
Rose Wreath
- Rose Frame
- Spirit of Heartland
Imagine Ink Embossing Powder:
-
Sand & Sea
- Snow
Flowers:Heartland Blossom

------------------------------
For the second layout you can see my face, a page I made with everything I love.
This page is really me a condensed of my style. Hope you love it.

- Bonheur -

I started my layout with Generation from Attic Charms collection.
I created my background with Crackles Texture and Serendipity stamps. I put some texture paste and work with inks. A few small rocks and beads an a little bit of mika flakes and some bits of thread gave the result of my background ... and you know everything.

I chose the perfect flower, that of the collection Harvest Lilies.

For chipboard, I wanted a small frame to accompany that of paste fimo that I made.
The kit Sweet & Lucky was perfect to use as a frame; I used the '' Lucky ''. I started by coating it with white gesso and used a thermal powder ( heat & stick powder ) When heated to heat gun this powder becomes a super adherent for glitter. So for this one I put the powder and then Pyrite Glitters.
My Title comes from the French Words kit. I chose Bonheur ( Happiness ) because it reflected well the energy of the photo.

Paper:Attic Charms - Generation
Chipboards:-Sweet & Lucky

Imagine Ink Embossing Powder:

------------------------------

And the last one for this month, my lovely dream catcher.
I really love this layout I'm really proud of the result.

- Believing -

I used Preston from Chesterville paper collection.
Like the other pages I made mybackground in the same way.
Texture paste, paints, inks and small embellishments.
I used two chipboards to create my dream catcher. The Jeweled frame and the dream catcher.
I altered them separately and then tied them together with a rope.
For chipboard Dream Catcher I simply covered with black gesso and used a mauve and opalescent fushia paint. Then I added some beads and rhinestones. The other chipboard, the jeweled frame, I made it simpler. Just a little powder to emboss silver on the chain parts and opalescent gray paint.

I used the pink flowers of Courtship Lane Collection, Courtship Roses.

I added a last chipboard, one from the Spring Trinkets kit, I worked like the Dream Catcher, black gesso and purple opal paint and fushia.

Paper:Chesterville - Preston

See you in April

February projects by Vera Shelemekh

Hello Blue Fern Studios fans.
Vera is here to share some projects with the very new and amazing Chesterville collection and also one layout with Heartland as I fell in love with the wonderfull blooming papers.

Let's start with Chesterville.  Hargrave became the background for my first project. The layout has been created for a good friend of mine.  I framed the photo into large Circle flourish chipboard covered with lime and antique gold embossing powder.
I also added some stamping with Texture 1 set.

Chesterville looks wonderful with cut elements from other collections, for exaple with mushrooms cut from Autumn antology.

I also decorated the layout with the Lifetime header covered with antique gold embossing powder and a Spring lily.

Blue Fern Studios products used:
Papers:
Chesterville - Hargrave
Autumn antology - Calling cards
Chipboards:
Large Circle flourish
Chunky Words
Embossing powders:
Lime
Antique gold
Stamps:
Texture 1 set

Flowers:
Spring lilies
------------------------------

My second project proves that Chesterville collection may be used even for wedding purposes. I have created two wedding cards. Chesterville - Bretton became the background.

The die cut frame and leaves are made of Buckley sheet.
I decorated the cards with Little birds chipboards, Bits of honey and Winter lilies. Chipboards are covered with Icicle embossing powder.

Papers:
Chesterville -Bretton
Chesterville -Buckley
Chipboards:
Bits of honey

Flowers:
Late Winter lilies
------------------------------
And for the dessert today is the bright pink wedding layout with Heartland collection. Kiss Kiss background and a lot of fussy cutting from Red Rose Ball and Love Song serenade.

You can see numerous layers here. I achieved that with the help of chipboards: floral lattice bits covered with Icicle embossing powder, Spirit of Heartland painted with acrylic paint and the bird covered with Fools gold glitter.

There is some texture stamping with  Iris embossing powder. And the Header cut from Together is the best place to be. It seemed too long to me so I decided to leave the rest for another layout))

January projects by Wendy Scholten

Hi everyone,

I'm so excited and thankful to be in this talented designteam for Blue Fern Studios and share my projects with you today!
My name is Wendy Scholten also known as MySweetCreativeLife and i'm 34 years old.
I am married to Peter for 5 years and we have a little girl, she is 3 years and is my biggest inspiration. I live in Kwintsheul, a small village in the Netherlands.
I work on a daycare for mentally challenged people for almost 14 years now.
I started scrapbooking about 10 years ago and love to try new products to see wat i can make with them. My style is romantic but i also like to use mixed media products.

You can find me here on social media:

I have 3 projects for you so let's start with the first one.

"Baby it's cold outside"

My first page is made with the gorgeous Vintage Christmas collection, i made this photo of our daughter on our last vacation and i loved it so much i knew i had to use this one.
The Christmas papers are so versatile, i decided to make a winter layout instead of a Christmas layout
(also because our daughter didn't want me to make a photo of her in her Christmas outfit, lol)

I used the Auld Lange Syne paper which i cut in half and switched the bottom and top so the flowers ended up in the middle and placed it on the backside of the Wonderland paper. I used lace to cover up the edges of the papers in the middle.

I used a stencil and moddeling paste with glitter to create texture for the background, when that was dry i used the forever stamp and some ink to stamp some images over the moddeling paste.
I  framed my photo with a piece of burlap and some cheesecloth underneath it.

The chipboard pieces were all treated with white gesso and then i used Snow and Silver Bells embossingpowders which i mixed together in different amounts.

For the Blooming curls is used more snow then silver bells and for the Winter Flakes the opposite. The title Baby it's cold outside was embossed with only silver bells and some ice paste and i cut it in pieces to fit my photo.

I used several collections of flowers, the Winter Lilies and Christmas Blooms. To finish it i used a few berries and embellishments from my own stash and put some glitter on some places.

Blue Fern Studios products i've used:
Papers:
Vintage Christmas- Auld Lang Syne
                        Vintage Christmas-Wonderland (Backside)

Embossing powders:

Winter Lilies

Then for number two:

"Follow your Heart"

For my second page i used the beautiful Heartland papers, chipboard and flowers.
I used a stencil, some moddeling paste and the Forever stamp for my background

I used the backside of the Red Rose Ball paper and 3 of the calling cards of the Love Notes paper which i placed under my photo to give it some depth. I also fussy cut some of the flower bits from the Sweet on You paper and tucked them between my photo and the calling cards.

I treated my chipboard first with some white gesso and for the Follow Your Heart title i used Vintage Gold embossingpowder, for the Spirit of Heartland chipboard i used oatmeal embossingpowder.

The Heartland Flowers are gorgeous so i knew i had to use those on my layout and some of the courtship roses. To finish it i used a few embellishments of my own stash.

Flowers:

And the last one for this month, number three:

"You have stolen my Heart"

For my third layout i also used the Heartland papers, flowers and chipboard.
I used the backside of the Love Song Serenade Paper and used nothing more than a doily stencil and some moddeling paste for the background.

I really love lace so that's what i used for the background texture together with the Blooming Flourishes chipboard which i treated with white gesso and then used Sand and Sea Embossing powder.

The Heartland XOXO chipboard was treaten with It's a girl Embossig powder.

I cut a small piece of it to make a cluster at the bottom of my page with some lace and flowers.

I used the Heartland Colection flowers as well as the coutship roses and Christmas blooms.
And topped it off with some Glitter and some embellishments of my own stash.
