Serendipity Inspiration by Pascale

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Blue Fern Studios blog with three new projects. The first one showcase a photo of a work of art from the 2015 exhibit in the Castle of Riveau (France).

I started to protect the background as well as the chipboards with a layer of clear Gesso. I covered the Roman clocks with black gesso. Then I stamped them with the Arcadia Textures stamp and embossed them with the Ginger embossing powder. Finally I added some teal color.

I embossed the Organic Vine and the Spring Branch with different colors of embossing powder to give them some texture. I added some Garnet embossing powder on the "flowers" of the Organic Vine and when the powder was still hot I covered it with Merlot glitter.

Having glued all the embellishments, I added more colors and Merlot and Caribbean glitters.

Blue Fern Studios products used:

Serendipity papers - Imagination, Reminescence
Chipboards - Organic Vine, Spring Branch, Roman Clocks Set - Small
Imagine Ink - Embossing Powders - Verdant, Sage, Seven Seas, Ginger, Garnet
Imagine Ink - Glitters - Merlot, Caribbean
Stamp - Arcadia Textures

The second layout showcase another photo of work of art I've taken in Pussigny (Indre-et-Loire, France) during the Pussifolies 2015. The Pussifolies is an annual event (in June) where painters have one day to achieve a paint (4 x 2 m). The canvas are hung in the streets, on the wall of the house and everyone can see how they work.

Again I started with a layer of clear gesso on the background and the chipboards. When the background was dry, I added more blue and gray colors; Then I added a design with the Arcadia Textures stamp and Pearl embossing powder; the result is really subtle.

I painted the title with white gesso and different shades of blue. Then I used the Arcadia Stamp to add a design and I embossed it with the Pearl embossing powder. The blue color showed through the embossing. I colored it again with a darker color to add some contrast.

I covered the Chelsea Vine with a brown primary element. Then I embossed the leaves with the Verdant embossing powder. I added more primary element on top on the leaves and heat them again to melt the primary element with the embossing powder. I covered the branch with Crackle Accent.

I painted the Quatrefoil Panel with the same brown primary element and covered it with a Graphite paste. Then I covered it randomly with a Graphite paste as I want to see the brown color underneath.

Blue Fern Studios products used:

Serendipity papers - Glee, Fascination, Reminisce, Calling Cards
Chipboards - Serenpidity Word 1, Chelsea Vines, Quatrefoil Panel
Imagine Ink - Embossing Powder - Pearl, Verdant
Stamp - Arcadia Textures

The third layout showcase the "Big Clock Gate" of La Rochelle (France).

Like previously, I covered the background with clear gesso. Then I added some random stamping with the Brocade Texture stamp.

I covered the brick wall panel  as well as the brick part of the Flourish Medley with white gesso, I used a sponge as I want to obtain some texture. When dry, I colored it with Burnt Umber.

I colored the leaves of the Flourish Medley with different shades of green. When the colors were still wet I added Verdant and Sage embossing powders and heat set them. I followed the same process on the die-cut leaves using the Verdant embossing powder on the rose leaves and the Sage on the sprig leaves.

Blue Fern Studios products used:

Two layouts with the new collections and a video tutorial by Wilma

My first post in 2016 and I am happy to tell you I will stay another year at Blue Fern Studio.

My first layout for today is one with a start to finish video .
I hope you find time to watch it .

I used the beautiful Timeless collection.
All the stamps and embossingpowders are from Blue Fern studios.

The video:

My second layout is made with the blush collection.
A Valentine themed line of papers.
But I think it is perfect for all kind of pictures because of its lightness.

I kept this layout light and playfull.
The Corner flourish chipboard was painted with  acrylicpaint.
After that I took away some of the brightness with white ink.

There are some cute little images on the papers .
I fussycut them and used them as little embellishments.

Thanks for visiting the blog...
Have a nice day

Projects with Angelica

Hello everyone! I'm sharing today my final projects as a BFS design team member. It's been an amazing and fun year!  I'm so honored to have had the opportunity to design for such a wonderful company!

I made this layout using the Autumn Anthology collection.  I started with the Newsworthy paper as my background and layered then Penmanship on top.  I painted the Large Roman Clock, Damask Panel and Spring branch chipboard pieces with gesso. Then lightly misted with the Leaf mist.

For this layout I used the Frolic collection. Such pretty soft colors!  I did some layering with the Secretary paper. Then used some pieces of the Calling Cards and Dans de Jardin. Again, I painted the Floral Lattice Bits, Timeless Floral Corner, and Petite Windows with gesso. They sprayed using the leaf and Cotton Candy Mist.

So, I've used up all of the Vintage Christmas Papers that were sent to me! I decided to make a quick card using a scrap piece of the Wonderland paper.  This is my take on the sketch using the Gingerbread House Chipboard. I used a thick uneven coat of Heavy Gesso and sprinkled colored glitter glass while still wet.

Thanks for stopping by during this busy holiday season!

Mixed media layouts by Zanka

Today I have two projects to show for you, created with BFS Ombre Dreams. This collection has a delicate mixed media feel and whether you just leave it there or add more -like I did here- to enhance this effect, I'm sure you will be delighted with the result!

'Everyday Moments'
The chipboards are primed with clear gesso and painted with different colours of paints. In the background I used the same primer, adding watercolours randomly and finishing it off with the stencil.
Chipboards used:Organic coins, Everyday Moments, Layering Stems
Stamps:Forever, Halftone

' A Beautiful Life'
In this layout I used the same techniques, but different colours. The focus point is enhanced with a layered composition of chipboards, which makes the photo really pop out.
Chipboards used: Spring Branch, Deja Vu border, Grid pieces.
Stamps: Vintage Edges

These are my last 2 layouts in July and for a while I will not be sharing new works here...I have to temporarily step down from my DT tasks due to personal reasons but I hope to see you again in a few months.
Lots of love!

Easter story with Galina Sazonova.

Hello friends!)
Today I want to share with you the bright Easter projects, that I have made with several types of chipboard.
Here's the first of my projects this month:
Canvas "A moment in time".
I used three types of particle board - background texture, tree branch and words.

These chipboard I first painted with colored sprays, and then plated shiny powder. The result is very cute!)

The next my work:
Easter cards.
They are simple, but very lovely.) I think so.)
At the heart of the composition I used chipboard as wood branches with charming birds.

And let us look more details....

 That's the Easter story) ....
Blue Fern Studios products used:

Love Story projects by Zanka

Hello!
It's my turn to share some more project which I created in February using BFS elegant Love Story collection. This is just a small share of the wonderful possibilities which this collection can be used for.
For my first project I picked Grand Ball, my absolute favourite paper in the whole collection! I worked both with the front and the back side, and I can't make up my mind-which one do I like more ;)

This  layout's colour scheme was entirely inspired by the colours of the paper pattern.

I have used some plain chipboards which I think match perfectly for the colours here. The branch is randomly dabbed with gesso. The heart is primed with gesso and covered with glossy accents and embossed with a distress powder.
Chipboards used:
Spring Branch, Lace Heart Border, word set Laughter, Happy , Smile, Layering Stems

My second project is also inspired by the base paper colours but as you see, the palette and style are completely different here.

I used Love Story stamp sets 1 & 2 to fill up the background with the stamp collage.
Chipboards: Circle Vine, Mixed Chains. The framed is primed with gesso and painted with crackle paste.

Thank you for spending a moment with me today, have a fantastic creative day!

First DT projects by Zanka

Hello!
It's my turn to welcome you on BFS blog for the first time! My name is Zaneta Glowa aka Zanka. I'm truly happy to cooperate with BFS and I'm looking forward to this new scrappy adventure!
I'm coming from Poland but nowadays I live in Sweden, I moved here more than 10 years ago.
I discovered scrapbooking in 2010, an amazing world has opened its door to me and took me by the storm.
At work I’m all fact and figures but I'm happy to take an escape to creativity when I have some spare time. I can slow down after a busy day, think through the things that happened -or sometimes just forget everything and make some mess ;)
I’m trying to explore different expressions and styles, although I’m most often staying within a romantic, feminine stream. I love to add a mixed media touch to my works. My key discoveries during my journey so far have been: stamps, gesso and Twinkling H2Os, all of these still remaining the first choice in my toolbox.
You are warmly welcome to visit my blog at
www.mysweedplace.blogspot.com

So this is me:

For my first layout I used Sanctuary collection, I've fallen in love with the rose images!

Chipboards : Quatrefoil panel, Tattered diamond bits.
When you get your chipboard panels, most of them are still including the cut bits which you normally pop out. I discovered that those loose bits are perfect as embellishments themselves! I decorated mine with gesso, ink, stamps and  covered them with glossy accents.

For the second layout I picked Ombre papers.
Chipboards: Hello Summer, Ginger Poppies

The chipboards are gently treated with gesso and watercolours, the same which I also used in the background.

My third layout was already presented with the sketch reveal. Once again, I used the Sanctuary collection.
Chipboards: Captured Words, Graduated Squares, Spring Branch

Here's probably where I've spend most time on altering the chipboards.

For the title, I only added some white accents, otherwise I let the elegant,  original colour of the chipboard to be seen.
On the frame, I have used texture paste and goldfinger paint. The branch is coloured with wax crayons and acrylic paint.

That's all from me today, thank you for spending some time with me here !
