February inspiration by Vera Shelemekh

Hello Blue Fern Studios fans. Vera Shelemekh is here to inspire you with the new amazing In the Mood collection. I have prepared two layouts and one traditional off the page project.

So help yourself with a cup of tea and some cookies and enjoy the beauty of In the Mood papers and printed chipboards.
I'll start the journey with a wedding layout. There was no chance not to make a romantic and tender page with many fussy cut roses and lace and sparkling sentiment.
In the Mood Mellow paper became the backgroung for this project.

The chipboard frame and branches are embossed with Icicle powder. Under the frame you may notice the brand new Lace 11
The sentiments on the printed chipboard are so sweet, just perfect for the story.

The title is covered with Fool's gold glitter.
And I added gold nugget seedlings here and there.

The other layout is also about relationship but this time I made my little son and hig girl friend play the main role) The picture was taken about 5 years ago in the street. The car is the present from my son's God father.
I picked In the Mood Dreamy back side as background and added pieces of Paisley and Vine papers.
The frame is decorated with washi tape.
I used a lot of Iridescent grey and Icicle  powder to emboss the chipboard embelishments. And some hearts are covered with Fire Engine glitter.

I can't imagine my layouts without seedlings. Here you may notice Flaming.

IN THE mood layout by Yuko

Hello!friesnds!I like February!
Because there is a Valentine's Day
Because the world will be full of hearts!

Using the very sweet In the mood collection
I made three sheets of layouts with hearts!

【ALL You Need is Love】

A special dress shot taken on her daughter 's anniversary.
I was looking forward to using this picture very much!

In this monnd collection
I brought the paper with the softest image to the backing.
Just like a slightly deep pink accentuates
I cut the paper narrowly and run it in a line shape in both length and width.

Chipboard of the same collection is also very cute!

I used the heart inside and applied the paper from the back.

The title paints the chip board white with Gesso
I put a glitter (Rose Gold) on the bottom.
This Rose Gold glitter,
As the name suggests, there is a pink lame in the gold
It is very cute color ❤

I cut out the stamped paper and used it.
I also love this stamp (Deja Vu) and I use it many times.
Because BFS's elegant atmosphere fits any paper
I am doing great success!

The race is BFS's too!
Even using only a little makes it very gorgeous!

【FAMLY】

To be able to match adult photos here
I aimed a little cool feeling!
I thought red × black as the main.

Background is to texture with modeling paste
I colored with acrylic paint.

Title is stamp of this frame (Label Frames)

I pushed the letters of (Distressed Titles) FAMLY of this stamp.

Press the dot stamp on the background
Embossed with antique gold.

Wings of this heart stamp (Winged Hearts)I cut and pasted what I did.

This texture stamp (Tattered Harlequin) is also
I use it many times as a favorite.

【grateful for YOU】
It is a unique culture in Japan.
School bags to buy when going to elementary school.
Do you know?
I am deeply impressed with having grown with this.

Because my daughter's clothes are navy
The selected paper is pink × red and black
Paper that has become a good feeling accent .
If the surroundings are black it will tighten!

Embossed powder (wheat) was used for the title.
It is a very elegant gold and is my favorite color

The butterfly chip board is embossed using pastel pink embossed powder
I sprinkled two kinds of Seedling
It is transparent pink (sweet pea) and metallic pink (mauve).

I often use an alphabetic stamp
Always do not feel like pushing
I dare dare to put it on an acrylic block
and hold it with my hand and press the stamp
This is useful because it seems to be hidden from the beginning! ! !

In The Mood Inspiration & Tutorial with Megan

Hi Everyone :)

Are you In the Mood for a little inspiration ;) ?

I have a photo tutorial for you today using this fabulous new collection.  I decided instead of doing the obvious to use the collection for something different.  Something more masculine, which was this little guy running down the beach :).

What I love about the whole creative process, is theres no right or wrong way of doing it.  Messy, grungy, simple, complicated its all up to you.  Heres how I achieved the look I wanted.

Once I chose my paper - Dreamy - I picked all the embellishments I wanted to use and fiddled around til I was happy with my composition.

Next I applied gesso over the paper - this prepares the paper or primes it, making the surface slightly textured and ready to accept paint mediums - without it paints or sprays would just soak into the paper.

While the gesso is drying I started altering my chipboard.  I used a few different techniques - the chain link I just inked with black ink.  The cogs I just painted red - that large red cog? is the negative from chain link - so don't throw those away, they come in handy! And lastly the diamond bits and dots and embossed with the new Black Gold embossing powder - the photo doesn't do this product justice, it embosses beautifully!!

While the paint is drying on the chipboard I could then start splattering away at my background.  I used a mixture of black and white gesso and red paint, all spritzed with water to thin it down and then splattered around the page with a paint brush, starting with the lightest colour first.

The next step was deciding what stamps I wanted to use.  Ive used a mixture from three different sets.  To figure out where I wanted to stamp, I  reassembled my embellishments and pencilled lightly around them, then removed them and started randomly using my newsprint stamp.  The star bursts and circle stamps were used with more precision - I wanted these overlapping the chipboard pieces creating a collage effect.

The last thing I added was seedlings, and stickers, you can see these in the closeups :)

The final picture, the completed layout.  I love it!  He looks like he's having such a great time :) <3

February is the month of love and my second project for you today embraces that using the same collection, but this time I went OTP.

To create my centre cluster, I used a combination of stunning flowers, chipboard and diecut pieces.

I wanted the entire project to match so I used the same papers and embellishments in both.

Here you can see the detail added to the sides of the box and the dimensionality of decorated lid.

Inside I used some of the lovely lace that comes with the collection - and perfect for covering up where you just have'nt quite got the cut of your paper accurate! ;)

Hopefully I inspired you to get creating with this lovely new collection :). See you next month!
