May inspiration by Bec

Hi there, today I have my May projects for you.

Beach Wedding Canvas

First up I have a canvas I made as a belated wedding gift for a friend

I began by covering the canvas with the new Tranquillity Collection papers: Serenity and Jubilation. I then used what was left over from these papers to make a photo mat.

I distressed the edges of all the papers and I added modeling paste with a stencil to the background of the canvas.

I used the Persian Ornament Chipboard piece to go under the photo, I coloured this with the Mushroom Embossing Powder.
For the title Love Always I used two different embossing powders in Snow and Seven Seas.

To finish off I embellished this canvas with some of the gorgeous new Blue Fern flowers. I used Courtship Blooms, Courtship Roses and Tranquil Roses and Lilies.

Mini Beach Shadow Box

My next Project is a mini shadow box made with the Tranquillity Collection

I used the Tranquillity paper Jubilation to line the squares inside the box as well as the outside edges and bottom of the box.

Then I used the Seven Seas Embossing powder to colour the top surfaces of the box.
I filled the mini bottles with the Gulf Coast and Blue Ice Glitters

I coated all the Seaside Seashells chipboard pieces with white sand texture paste, and when this was dry I rubbed a little distress ink over the surfaces.

I finished with off with a few real sea shells and Courtship Blooms, Courtship Roses and Tranquil Roses and Lilies.

The Future Belongs to Those who Believe on the Beauty of Their Dreams

And finally today I have a layout to share which I made with the Serendipity collection

I used the Serendipity Fascination paper as my background for this layout, I added some mists and texture pastes for colour and interest. Then I used the Serendipity papers Glee and Calling cards to make a photo mat.

I used the whole Natural Sprigs Set pack and covered all the pieces with white crackle paste. When the paste was dry I coloured them with a green mist and brown distress ink.

To colour the Folkart Frame I used Liquid Pearls in Bisque
For my title I cut one to the calling cards up and spread the words over my page

'Love Always' by Lisa Griffith

Hello everyone!

By now you've all seen the beautiful new collection 'Montage' by Blue Fern Studios,
such lovely papers to work with. Here I chose the paper 'Society'.

I did a lot of masking and stamping in the background and then added the following chipboard pieces that I kept simple with a coat of white acrylic paint, 'Love Always', 'Circle Flourish', 'Veranda Cage Set', and 'Wild Flourish Frame'.

My second project is a card I made with the paper 'Julianna's Dream' as my base,
and then added lots of masking, misting and stamping.

I added two pieces of the small 'Roman Clock Set' which I painted white,
then added some flowers and some paint splashes.

And finally, the layout I created for the September sketch challenge,
which you still have plenty of time to enter before the end of the month!

Here is the gorgeous sketch designed by Michele Singh:

Remember, you don't have to use the exact chipboard that is in the sketch,
but you must use Blue Fern Studios products.

Here is my layout using the September sketch:

I had so much fun creating this, experimenting with my new gelatos, and I love the bright sweet colors, a perfect addition to the beautiful 'Shannon's Dream' paper from the 'Ombre Dreams' collection. I used several pieces from the 'Roman Clock Set' again and also a piece called 'Circle Flourish' that I painted white and then painted with my gelatos to match my background.

I hope I inspired you a little today!
Until next time....Lisa xo

{New Papers} with Patter

It's Patter here again with you. I am excited to share a card and the new Blue Fern Studios papers with you. I used the papers for two layouts. Both of the layouts are 8 1/2 x 11 and feature photos of our friend's baby that was born on Christmas Day. Let's start by looking at the gorgeous papers and fun chipboard pieces.

Adorable
Here is our friend's precious baby when he was 3 days old. I layered the In Bloom, Parlour, and Calling Cards papers for this 8 1/2 x 11 layout. I was able to use two of the words from the Calling Cards paper as tags on the layout.

The chipboard I used was a heart from the Eclectic Hearts set. I colored the heart with Prima Chalk Ink shabby tote and Distress crackle paint. The title is from the Good Vibes set. I painted it with a mix of modeling paste, Glimmer Mist artic blue, and Lindy's Stamp Gang bachelor button blue.

Love Always
And here is little baby at 6 days old. Here I used the Blue Fern Garden Parlour and Calling Cards papers. Again I used more tags from the Calling Cards paper and did lots of layering.

For the title, I used the Love Always chipboard piece. I painted it with layers of Tim Holtz Distress Paint tarnished brass, Viva crackle paint, and Inka Gold old silver. The layering of those three products gave the title a great look.

And Finally a Card
On this card I used the Circle Motif. I did not use a sentiment because I wanted the circle to be the focus.

I pulled up the layers of chipboard to create dimensional leaves on the Circle Motif. I then painted with Shimmerz Texturez gold mine.
