sumertime scrapping

Hello all Blue Fern studios Fans!

Olga here . I'm coming today with 3 layouts I made with using BFS products. All 3 on Ombre Dreams collection . I love it and I can't have enough of it. Perfetly fit me everywhere to feminal and masculine style it is just perfect.

Anyway back to the subject. First work is feminal LO with cat lady .Charlotte's Dream was background of my project.  In composition I use piecies of Dot Grid Panel and  one of Frilly Hearts covered with gesso . As a title I put dreams come true piece

This layout is about summer fun. Those feets belongs to my personal son :) photo was taken on amazing playground after a long day filed with running around, playing pirates and chasing bubbles. I use here last piece of Dot Gird Panel ( one panel I had for 4 works and I still have small piece :) ) I used here also Filmstrip and directions arrows. paper I use here is ginger's dream

On this layout is one of last photos I took in Poland on one of our daily park walks. Yes I know something is wrong with me and making feet photos ;) But I can't stop myself I like them so much . Here Iuse Charlotte's dream as background and made lots of media shadows to better expose my composition. I use piece of awesome small number gird . All black elements are from picture perfect set its awesome set to layouts but also will perfectly fit to any project life projects.

Bright and Bold by Jackie Clark

Hello Blue Fern fans! Jackie with you here today, taking a break from our family's seaside summer vacation to share my July, summer-inspired projects. I have two very different projects for you today; the first light, airy and summery, and the second darker and more sultry, like those warm summer nights.

Sometimes you see a piece of chipboard, and a project starts to take shape in your mind. That's what happened for me with the Butterfly Grid. I saw it, and a project started to evolve. I knew that I wanted to pair it with the Butterfly Kisses title and the Tattered Butterflies, and my layout grew out of that.

One of the glorious things about the Blue Fern Studios panels is the ability to cut them apart and use them in whatever way best suits your project. I cut mine into the big piece on the left and the smaller piece on the right, and have some leftover for another project. I primed the whole thing with gesso, and then set about colouring the butterflies with shimmery watercolour paints.

For the grid piece on the right I added one of the Tattered Butterflies to coordinate with the butterflies in the Butterfly Grid.

For the Butterfly Kisses title piece I sprinkled on embossing powders in pink, blue and yellow randomly and heat set them.

The colours of the Ombre Dreams papers inspired my colour choices, and I loaded on media in the background to create a fun, sunny layout.

- Chipboard: Butterfly Grid, Butterfly Kisses, Tattered Butterflies

My second layout has a darker colour scheme, but it still evokes summery memories for me, as the picture was taken on my honeymoon, during a very hot summer in Bordeaux - that's my (then) new husband's hand holding the wineglass; hard to believe it's been 11 years!

Although the picture is anything but industrial in nature, the Industrial Corner and Working Parts chippies just seemed like a natural fit. For some reason I pictured them a deep, dark red, but I didn't have a red embossing powder. Not to worry, I used a red acrylic glaze, and added clear embossing powder overtop while it was still wet and heat set it. I then added embossing ink randomly throughout and added both gold and a silver/black embossing powder.

Here's a look at one of the finished pieces.

Thank you so much for stopping in to view my projects today! We love to see what you create with Blue Fern Studios products, so be sure to keep posting your creations to our Facebook page and our Gallery.

The Many Shades of Ombre Dreams w/Erin Blegen

Good morning!

I'm here today to share with you three different projects I created this month using the gorgeous Ombre Dreams collection! I just can't get over how beautiful these papers are, and what a delight to put them to work! There's such a beautiful array of colors available in this range that I decided to spotlight a different palette in each of my projects...

"My Boy"
I LOVE the watercolor-y washed out seashore shades in the "Ginger's Dream" paper, which I chose to use as my background for this photo of my middle child at the beach. And layered in pieces behind my photo are some more blues from the "Susan's Dream" paper.

I chose to feature the Roman Clock Set- Small on my layout as well. This set can be split up into three different clocks (along with hands); I chose the largest of the clocks, cut it in half, dabbed it with white chalk ink, and used them to really set the design of my page.

"Thoughts" Card
Next up, I went with two more fabulous papers that are predominantly purple, while offering hints of many other colors including green, blue, pink, turquoise, and more: Joyce's Dream and Dream Cards. It was very difficult not to use some mixed media on the background of this card, but I really wanted to show off the lovely delicate patterns :)

The butterfly piece you see here is from the "Tattered Butterfly" set, which features 4 butterflies in various sizes. I just love the intricate detail in this butterfly design. I decided to go with a random smattering of embossing enamel which was set with a heat gun. Embossing enamel offers a great mix of color and texture which catch the light beautifully! For even more sparkle, I added a pretty crystal to the center.

Since I had my Roman Clock pieces out, I went with one of the smaller pieces in the set here. First I painted it with a lilac shade of acrylic paint and, while still wet, dusted it with a sparkly white embossing powder to give it a pretty frosted look.

"Discover" Card
Finally, we have some orange/peach/pinks to feature! The Shannon's Dream paper is full of tropical citrus colors and dreamy floral patterns.

The Wild Flourish Bundle chipboard piece was just what I needed to set the foundation for my cluster on this card. It was covered with a pale yellow chalk ink, embossed with clear embossing powder, and accented with some bling.

Ombre Dreams 3 Times

Hello  all Blue fern studios fans !

Today i have for You 3 Layouts on Ombre Dreams. The Latest paper collection from BFS.  I love them since first look . They are soft , pastel universal, thick and beautiful.

My first work is with Ginger's Dream and Susan's Dream . At first i prepared background with
City Map Panel and my mist sprays. I simply sprayed through the chipboard on regular white cardstock. I received interesting background - negative of my chipboard panel. Chiboard is still perfect to use.   I could use in the same work and get pattern and color match but i left it for another work ;)   Techno Rings fitted me perfectly in industrial background composition    At the end I used Captured Words as title of my work.

Second work is based on Susan's Dream. I made it with photo of my friend. Again I used chipboard to make some effects in background. They are lights and soft because the paper is so beautifull , soft and fitted amazingly to my work so i decided to not cover it too much.

I started with adding little bit of gesso through Circle Groups around my composition. I
used also Broken Rings, Seasonal Wildflowers,  and Picture Perfect,  as elements around the photo

This one is in violets and blues. little bit of messy with lot of stamping. Instead of photo I used here beautiful postcard . I use Charlotte's Dream as base of my project and as paper elements in composition I used Broken Rings and Dot Grid Panel as elements under my photo. And Dream Big as title to my work and ligtest element in the same time

'Best of times' by Lisa Griffith

Hello BFS fans! It's my turn to share my projects with you today.

I know you've seen by now the new 'Ombre Dreams'. I really love the rainbow of
colors in this collection, and I also totally love how the BFS chipboard patterns are
echoed very softly in these beautiful papers. I have enjoyed working with them so much.

In honour of Father's Day this month I wanted to create a lo with a photo of my Dad.
I found this photo of when my parents visited us when we were living on Miami Beach.
The photo was many years ago but I still remember everything we did that day ;)

Here are a few close ups....

I used the paper called 'Ginger's Dream' for my background, and pieces of 'Dream Cards'
as layers under my photo. I also used 'Turkish Panel' , 'Memory Frames' and a piece of
'Sail Away' which I painted white and then sprayed lightly with colored mists.

My next project is a card I made for my mum using a photo of her when she was young.

I wanted to make her something really pink and shabby and the paper 'Shannon's
Dream' was so perfect for this! I started with masking with gesso and then used
pink and gold mists. I used some pieces of 'Quatrefoil Panel' which I painted white.

I hope I have inspired you a little today!
Until next time, Lisa xo
