May projects by Tartine Peluche

Hi everyone!
I'm so happy to show you my projects for this month.
I created 3 layouts with 2 differents collections including 2 with the new Happy Accident papers.
They are really stunning!

So let's start with the first one.

Make time for moment

For my first layout I used Quirk paper from Happy Accident collection.

I used Starry Night embossing powder for my title Moment.
A little yellow flower from Attic Charm Daisy. I also added some pieces of new Happy Accident Chipboard.

For this layout I have used two main chipboard:
Floral Medley Frame that I have cut in four pieces,
two for the photo frame and two others to create dimension under picture.
I embossed it with a mixt of powder, Seven Seas and Stormy Skies.
At the end I have putted some gesso on it.
Bits of Honey that I have embossed with 14karats embossing powder. I also used the negative that I have to do the same process with embossing powder and after I colorized the outlines with black solvant ink.
You can see on this pictur that I've used Scratched stamps with yellow ink, and Postal Texture with black ink.

For finish this layout I added some flowers and others negative chipboard of Bits Of Honey.
This tiny blue flowers are from Chesterville Blooms, my favorite flowers so far, very beautiful, and working with her is a pleasure. And this wonderful yellow flower, is from Happy Blooms, matching with new collection Happy Accident.
We can see on this one , that I've used Crackle Texture stamp with blue solvant ink.

Fairytale

For my second layout of mont, I chose Blessing paper from Happy Accident collection.

The main chipboard on this layout is Barb's Medallion, I've cut it in two pieces, because it's tiny and I wanted to see it on either side of the photo. I embossed it with a mix of new
colors from Spring Parade collection, Morning Sun and Speckled Mint.
Below all element , I placed two frames that I've create
with cardstock and two pieces of Fortuity paper.

I chose to work with peach flowers on this layout, for this I've taked
Happy Roses from Happy Accident and Chesterville Blooms from Chesterville Collection.
I know it's not from Blue fern Studio products but I really love my tiny message bottle... from my hand :) Just a few beads and a small roll paper ...

My chipboard title Fairytale is emboss with the same mixt than
my chipboard Barb's Medallion, Morning Sun and Speckled Mint coordinated with Spring Parade collection.

Have you see my tiny turtle? I'm in love with her... ;)

Magic

I finish my post with my most detailed in paper, layout...
All this page was created with the paper of the Collection Autumn Anthologie.
I took the Cottage paper and Robin paper for create my background.

I used Crackles Textures stamp with brown solvant ink and stencil of crackle.

 .

With my Oatmeal embossing powder, I altered my chipboard title Dream and my Ruth's Doily.
Because we can see only half of the doily, I cut it in two pieces. I will use the other part on another layout.
In white, are some parts of Rose Frame chipboard, that I've embossed with Snow embossing powder.
A few having some mini beads before embossing, for texture.

 .

I used blue flowers from Chesterville Blooms and loght cream flower of Harvest Lilies.
With some paper ripped from Robin paper, I create a femce.
I cut a bird ans several flowers on the paper Mercantile and Robin.
With my Postal Texture stamp, I made a label.

And the next close up is for show all the flowers cutted.

Meet our May Blue Fern Fan of the Month!

Welcome to May everyone!  We hope you are enjoying all the beauty and wonder of spring.  The beginning of a new month means we have a brand new Blue Fern Fan to introduce to you.  This month we are excited to have Cheryl Kearns join us.  Cheryl creates the most amazing (really amazing!) albums using Blue Fern products.  We can't wait to show you what she has created with our Spring Parade collection.  So, let's turn things over to Cheryl.

Hello everyone! My name is Cheryl Kearns, of Cheryl’s Paper Creations. I live in sunny Southwest Florida with my husband of thirty three years. We moved here from Cape Cod, Massachusetts in 1999, and love it.

I am a retired floral designer.  I have been paper crafting for fifteen years. I worked as a teacher/designer at my local scrapbook store until it closed several years ago. I specialize in making mini albums that showcase imported laces and flowers.  I was introduced to Blue Fern Studios papers while working on a design team.  I love the quality and beautiful designs, as they are perfect for highlighting my shabby chic style.

For the cover I used Spring Parade’s “Sunday Best”  paper.  I placed some purple trim on top of the white lace that wraps around the album from the spine, as well as pearl trim around the border of the album. The focal point on the cover is Blue Fern’s chipboard piece “Memories”, which I embossed with their Iris embossing powder. I used both their Winter and Spring Lilies, Attic Charm Daisies, and the Organic Vine Chipboard for my floral clusters on the cover and throughout the album.

The spine is five inches wide, and is covered with several pieces of white Venice lace and an appliqué.

Pages 1 and 2 : Here I used Spring Parade’s “June” paper on both pages.  I also used the Mini Flourishes chipboard pieces around the floral clusters. I tend to make simple pockets on most of my pages in order to highlight the various laces and other embellishments.  Each pocket holds three 4x6 photo mats.

So, there is a look at the cover, spine, and the first 2 pages of Cheryl's stunning album.
Be sure to stop by next Wednesday when we will feature more pages this album.

Happy Accident - Free - By Lydia Guijt

Hello Paper and Blue Fern Studios friends.

We're so happy with the new Happy Accident Collection and brand new introduction of the  Happy Accident Printed Chipboard Pieces that I'm sharing an extra post with you this month.

For this layout I'm using a photo of my niece's little boy visiting a WWII memorial with his Granddad, which is very fitting for this time of the year when many countries have their own remembrance days. It's so important to teach our children their history.

- Free -

I'm using the Happy Accident - Incident sheet as the base. For my background I chose the Texture Circles Stamp and embossed some of the prints with Snow Embossing powder and others I did in black ink. Some extra stamping with the  London Chronicle Stamp. After that I got out a stencil and created some texture over the page with some paste.

The Abstract Wire Frame got embossed with Stormy Skies. A beautiful new metallic blue color embossing powder. The Rose Wreath chipboard  was cut in a couple of pieces and embossed with Rusty Rose. I sprinkled some of the Pea Soup Glitter over the leafy parts of the Rose Wreath and heat set it.

Having done all the preparation work I was now ready to start putting my layout together. All these chipboard pieces make for some wonderful layers.

Adding Chesterville Blooms and other flowers to decorate. Some final ink splatters and we're all done. I hope you will have fun with this collection!

April projects by Vera Shelemekh

Hello Blue Fern Studios fans!
Vera is here and I'm happy to share some inspiring projects with you. This month I keep on playing with Spring Parade collection scrapping my Easter photos... But first let me show you the Chesterville layout which I like a lot.

The layout keeps memories of our house renovation. Our kid was feeling really excited to help with this and that. I used  Chesterville - Whitford as the background adding Textured Wildflowers chipboard covered with Antique gold embossing powder.

The photo is framed into a bigger Clip frame painted with white acrylic paint.  I used one of the Chunky words for the title.

Essential textures stamp helped me to add some more details to the background. And the bricks are covered with Mermaid glitter.

And now Spring inspiration.
The layout is the present for my good crafty friends. For the background I used Whimsy from Paisley&Vine collection. The composition consists of a lot of Spring parade fussy cut elemens, Circle vine frame covered with lime embossing powder and paper flowers including  the Spring lily

I also made some stamping with Deja Vu and then cut the elements

And at last some Easter memories. The kids were searching for chocolate eggs in the garden and I took some pictures and made this mini tunel album.

The characters from Spring parade should be already famaliar to you. The fussy cut bunnies are so nice and the flowers so springy.

Spring Garden layouts by Patty Rogers

Hello everyone!  Today concludes our projects from the Blue Fern Fan of the Month, Patty Rogers.  It has been such a joy to have her with us this month, as we know what a big fan she is of everything Blue Fern.
Today, Patty has created 2 layouts to share with you.  I will let her tell you all about them!

* * * * *

Hello Blue Fern Studios fans! It's Patty with my last post as Fan of the Month. What an honor this has been! I thoroughly enjoyed working with the Spring Parade collection.

Hi Blue Fern fans! It's Patty with another layout from the Spring Parade collection.
I did quite a bit of fussy cutting for this piece, as well as 3-D work and applying texture.

One technique found in my work is layering. I think it shows off all of the beautiful papers,
so dimension is a must for me.

You can see where I used the Forever stamp with Pink Dust embossing powder
on each of the layers in random places for texture and dimension.

I applied a few brushstrokes of gesso on the flowers to lighten them a little and distressed the layered papers.

Here, you can see the layering, distressing, textured background, splatters of color and embossed chipboard pieces.

For this layout, I used May Vignettes as my background paper. The little eggs, bunny, and
flowers are sweet without dominating the background. Again, I used the Spring Bunny Frame,
Good Vibes and Garden Lattice Bits for the chipboard.

I embossed the frame with Snow and Sea Mist embossing powders with just a sprinkle of Spring Posy glitter.

Fussy cutting the little bird in a basket adds dimension to the layout when popped up.

The banners were distressed and I embossed the title using Lavender Eggs.

The flowers used on this layout were Spring Peony and Berries, Spring Florals,
Dark Tropic Lilies and Courtship Roses.

Wishing everyone a lot of creative enjoyment with Blue Fern Studios products! --- Patty
