The Mémoires Collection by Karine

Hi,

It's my turn, today, to share with you my October layouts created with the brand new Mémoires collection. The papers are just gorgeous!

The end of a Perfect Day

For this layout, I used the Tale of Treasures paper as my background. After I primed it with clear gesso, I used a stencil with modeling paste. I added a bit of blue mist with a brush.

To add more interest to the background, I used the Grungy Grid stamp with black ink. I also added another stamp with text.

Behind my photo cluster, I used the Circle Groupe chipboards, which I embossed with Sand & Sea Imagine Ink embossing powder. It matches the background beautifully.

Under my picture, I used the Calling Cards paper to mat.

I used the Photographic Record paper to die cut a doily to add to both my clusters. I also added some flowers and wire thread to embellish.

My title piece, The End of a Perfect Day, is also embossed with Sand & Sea Imagine Ink embossing powder.

Life is Full of Surprises

When I saw this beautiful paper, called Chronicles, in the collection, I immediately thought of this picture of my daughter. I primed it with clear gesso and, as usual, used some modeling paste through a stencil to add texture.

I also added two mists colors to the background: one in a red-burgundy shade that matches the background and another in a golden yellow tone. I used both the Grungy Grid and the Forever stamps to add interest to my background.

To mat my picture, I used a piece of the Grand Sequel paper and a card from the Calling Cards paper. I placed that over the largest Frilly Hearts chipboard which I embossed with Oatmeal Imagine Ink embossing powder. I just love how it mat my picture with such feminine details.

To embellish, I used some Attic Charm Daisies (you can see it better in the next picture), some Seaside Lilies and some Harvest Lilies. Did I mentioned how I love Blue Fern Studios flowers?

In my flower cluster, I used two keys from the Vintage Keys set. I used again the Oatmeal Imagine Ink embossing powder.

My title piece, the Life is Full of Surprises chipboard, is embossed with Ginger Imagine Ink embossing powder.

Complices

For my last layout, I started with the Nature's Novel paper. I love the earth tones of this one.

I used my new favorite stamp: the Crackle Texture stamp, here and there, on the background. A few shades of ink (aqua, brown and yellow) here and there, and background was done.

I had this idea of a torn band of paper going diagonally on my layout. I used the Photographic Record paper to do so. I tucked some pieces of the Turkish Bits chipboards set behind the paper, to add interest. I embossed the chipboards with Mushroom Imagine Ink embossing powder and while it was still hot, I sprinkled some Sand & Sea Imagine Ink embossing powder over it. I believe this powder will quickly become my favorite!

For my main embellishment cluster, I chose the Seaside Flourish chipboard, which I cut apart to keep just the flourish and the flowers. You can see, in the picture above, How I cut the anchor and the two stars and keeps everything else.

I used brown Ink to color this chipboard and then, I dry brushed some white gesso to make it stand out a bit more.

In this cluster, I used a lot of Blue Fern Studios flowers: little Courtship Blooms, some Spring Lilies and, of course, the beautiful Mémoires Blooms.

I used those flowers again in the two other clusters I made.

I mated my picture with the Calling Cards paper. My title piece comes from the Amis, Ensemble, Complices set. I treated it with the same steps as I did with the other chipboards on this layout.

I hope my layouts inspires you to dig in this BEAUTIFUL new collection.

Have a great day,
Karine

Memoires inspiration by Pascale

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Blue Fern Studios with three new projects featuring the new collection designed By Michelle " Memoires ".  For the first one, I chose a photo I've taken during a trip in Montrésor (Loire Valley, France), one of the most beautiful villages in France. The bridge came from the Eiffel workshop.

I started to cut the "Remember When" paper in two which I glued it on a cardboard. Then I primed the new background.

I  embossed the Organic Vine with the Black Sand embossing powder. I painted the Classic Ornament with black gesso, then I covered it with Graphite Paste.

I embossed the title Peaceful with the Sand and Sea embossing powder. I embossed it a second time with the Pearl embossing powder and I started again with the Sand and Sea.

I cut a few Post Cards from the Photographic Record paper to add under the photo. I glued all the embellishments.

To finish the layout, I added some texture to the background with the Scratched stamp and the Sand and Sea embossing powder.

Blue Fern Studios products:

Papers - Memoires (Remember When, Photographic Record)
Chipboards - Organic Vine; Classic Ornaments; Peaceful, Stillness & Contentment
Stamp - Scratched
Imagine Ink - Embossing Powders (Black Sand, Sand and Sea, Pearl)

------------------------------------

Here is my second project : an art journal page. After my New York Journal and my Family Journal, I decided to start a new Journal with all the castles I visited in the Loire Valley. Here is the first page with the castle of Chaumont-sur-Loire (Loire Valley, France)

I glued the left-overs from the different chipboards (Turkish Panel, Dot Grid Panel, Quilted Panel, Flutter Medley, Floral Lattice Bits...) to add texture to the page. I primed them with white gesso.

I added more texture with different stamps and embossing powders : the Journey stamp with the Black Sand powder, ...

... the Arcadia Texture with the Pearl and the Grungy Grid with the Sand and Sea. Then I sprayed different inks. The embossing powders have a resist effect.

I splattered some ink and sprinkled some Black Sand embossing powder while it was still wet and heat set it.

I cut some Post Cards from the Calling Cards and the Photographic Record to add under the photo.

Blue Fern Studios products:

Papers - Memoires (Calling Cards, Photographic Record)
Stamps - Grungy Grid, Journey, Arcadia Texture
Imagine Ink - Embossing Powders (Black Sand, Sand and Sea, Pearl)

------------------------------------

Here is my third October's project for Blue Fern Studios. I work again with the Memoires collection. I chose a photo of Rock of Cashel I've taken during my trip in Irlande.

I primed the Tales of Treasures paper with clear gesso. Then I stamped with different stamps. First Ione was the stamp collage from the Journey set with black ink. I stamped again with one of the Ornamental Edges set and the Grungy Grid and embossed the prints with the Antique Gold powder. I stamped one last time with the second stamp from the Ornamental Edges set and used the Sand and Sea  powder to emboss the prints.

I added a design with a stencil and two differents medium: 3D gloss gel and clear crackle paste. I let dry naturally before adding some colors.

I painted the chipboard with a gold paint. I cut a few Post Cards from the Photographic Record paper to add under the photo.

I die-cut some leaves in a watercolor paper.  I colored them with the same inks I used to color the background and  I sprinkled the rose leaves with the Antique Gold embossing powder while they were still wet to add some texture.

I colored the flowers with the same inks I used to color the background and the leaves. When They were dry I added a little touch of gold paint.

I gave textures with molding paste and a stencil to the background but stayed simple.

I mixed the Late Winter Lilies and Dark Tropic Lilies flowers. I cut out the image and the flag from the Calling Card paper.
The title is the Smile chipboard and I stamped the background  with the Crackle Textures stamp and distress ink.

Memoires inspiration by Karolina

Hi guys!
Karolina here with my part of inspirations for you for October ;)
I was waiting for my papers from the new Blue Fern Studios collection Memoires and I can't make anything until it came.

Today I would like to show you how amazing these papers are! But Im pretty sure that you know it ;)

Captured

My first project is a cover of the notebook. I used papers from Memoires collection and one paper from the Birdsong collection. I used some colors like orange, magenta, yellow, pink. I think it looks very autumn.

I desided to use 3 different sets of chipboards. One of them (circles) I covered with embossing powders. First I put magenta powder on it and next I added sime lime powder. I love this effect!

papers: Memoires - twilight fable, calling cards, tale of treasures; Sanctuary - birdsong melody
Chipboards:  layering stems, broken rings, picture perfect,
embossing powders: raspberry, lime
glitter: burnt copper, cranberry, sunshine, candy shoppe
Books

My second creation is a layout in very shabby and romantic style. I found this beautiful photo of old books (I love old books, do you?) and some stripes of laces, I also used a chipboard lace and I tried to put everything together. Of course I also added some flowers and medias, but I didn't want to cover this beautiful lace too much. To break the quiet colors I decided to add some elements in purple.

What do you think about this style in my projects?

papers: Memoires collection
chipboards: dream catcher
embossing powders: oatmeal, it's a girl

Have a nice day! And see you in November!

Karolina

Inspiration Overload ~ October Social Media Day

Hello, Blue Fern Studios followers!

Today is Social Media catch up day where we focus on YOU and your creations!
We hope that you are following us everywhere … Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and of course, right here on our blog.
Remember to tag us so that we can see what you're creating!

Our first feature of the day is this lovely layout by @majo_rando. She is a self-described scrapbooking designer and instructor based in Yebisu/Tokyo. Here she has used the Frolic collection (designed by Michele Singh) and created beautiful frames for her frames, then encrusted the design with lots of gorgeous flowers and a tiny birdcage and ribbon, She blogs right Here. The pink and blue color combo are simply heavenly.

Our products can be used in so many ways, including off the page projects. Here Saba Musharrif has created a gorgeous custom two drawer box and covered the top with paper, flowers and a sentiment. Done with newlyweds in mind. Saba's Instagram username is @favorsmore. And she blogs at Saba's Craft Land.

Don't forget about cards!
Liana Kuzovaya of Russia shared this gorgeous purple card on Instagram. She's used Deja Vu and a Deja Vu Calling Card as her sentiment, altered some chipboard, then added lace and a resin butterfly. A few pearls create just a bit more romance. Look for Liana on Instagram @liana_kuzovaya. And remember to use those scraps for handmade cards!

We can always count on our paper collections designed by Manuela Zimmerman for that extra dose of drama!
We found this drop dead gorgeous creation by Joanne aka @scrap_joe on Instagram the other day. We love the distressed edges and use of the Circle Flourish chipboard piece! After some detective work, we found her blog Here! (Yes, we sometimes have to use superhuman investigative skills to find you!)

We finish with this amazing assemblage art piece by Jaihan Z. There are lots of products utilized in her piece but Blue Fern Studios chipboard is a part of that! We have loads of gears and assemblage pieces that would work great for you!  Jaihan puts lots of heart, soul and energy into her creation. We challenge you to think outside the box when using our products! To learn more about Jaihan, visit her Here and @hercreativeworld.

Well, we think you should be more than inspired by these amazing designers!
Maybe next month your name will be here!
