Hi,
It's my turn, today, to share with you my October layouts created with the brand new Mémoires collection. The papers are just gorgeous!
The end of a Perfect Day
For this layout, I used the Tale of Treasures paper as my background. After I primed it with clear gesso, I used a stencil with modeling paste. I added a bit of blue mist with a brush.
To add more interest to the background, I used the Grungy Grid stamp with black ink. I also added another stamp with text.
Behind my photo cluster, I used the Circle Groupe chipboards, which I embossed with Sand & Sea Imagine Ink embossing powder. It matches the background beautifully.
Under my picture, I used the Calling Cards paper to mat.
I used the Photographic Record paper to die cut a doily to add to both my clusters. I also added some flowers and wire thread to embellish.
My title piece, The End of a Perfect Day, is also embossed with Sand & Sea Imagine Ink embossing powder.
Life is Full of Surprises
When I saw this beautiful paper, called Chronicles, in the collection, I immediately thought of this picture of my daughter. I primed it with clear gesso and, as usual, used some modeling paste through a stencil to add texture.
I also added two mists colors to the background: one in a red-burgundy shade that matches the background and another in a golden yellow tone. I used both the Grungy Grid and the Forever stamps to add interest to my background.
To mat my picture, I used a piece of the Grand Sequel paper and a card from the Calling Cards paper. I placed that over the largest Frilly Hearts chipboard which I embossed with Oatmeal Imagine Ink embossing powder. I just love how it mat my picture with such feminine details.
To embellish, I used some Attic Charm Daisies (you can see it better in the next picture), some Seaside Lilies and some Harvest Lilies. Did I mentioned how I love Blue Fern Studios flowers?
In my flower cluster, I used two keys from the Vintage Keys set. I used again the Oatmeal Imagine Ink embossing powder.
My title piece, the Life is Full of Surprises chipboard, is embossed with Ginger Imagine Ink embossing powder.
Complices
For my last layout, I started with the Nature's Novel paper. I love the earth tones of this one.
I used my new favorite stamp: the Crackle Texture stamp, here and there, on the background. A few shades of ink (aqua, brown and yellow) here and there, and background was done.
I had this idea of a torn band of paper going diagonally on my layout. I used the Photographic Record paper to do so. I tucked some pieces of the Turkish Bits chipboards set behind the paper, to add interest. I embossed the chipboards with Mushroom Imagine Ink embossing powder and while it was still hot, I sprinkled some Sand & Sea Imagine Ink embossing powder over it. I believe this powder will quickly become my favorite!
For my main embellishment cluster, I chose the Seaside Flourish chipboard, which I cut apart to keep just the flourish and the flowers. You can see, in the picture above, How I cut the anchor and the two stars and keeps everything else.
I used brown Ink to color this chipboard and then, I dry brushed some white gesso to make it stand out a bit more.
In this cluster, I used a lot of Blue Fern Studios flowers: little Courtship Blooms, some Spring Lilies and, of course, the beautiful Mémoires Blooms.
I used those flowers again in the two other clusters I made.
I mated my picture with the Calling Cards paper. My title piece comes from the Amis, Ensemble, Complices set. I treated it with the same steps as I did with the other chipboards on this layout.
I hope my layouts inspires you to dig in this BEAUTIFUL new collection.
Have a great day,
Karine
