Similar Yet Different {With Patter}

Hi, Patter here. Today I wanted to share a card and a layout I created for you. They are similar yet different. I started out with the same exact background for each piecewhite cardstock with blue modeling paste and drips. I thought it would be fun to see what happens when I start with the same base but then turn them each into something unique. Let's look at my creations.

The Card
For my card today I created a feminine card using the chipboard shoe from the Blue Fern Studios Icon Set 2. Send this to a friend and invite her to go shopping! I covered the chipboard shoe in gesso and then added brown micro beads and Glossy Accents. Underneath the shoe is a heart from the Blue Fern Studios Heart Panel Chunky. I painted it with gesso and then inked it with chalk ink.

The Layout
Next I created this 8 1/2 x 11 layout using Blue Fern Studios Ironworks Accents and the Optimist Word Set. I used the word "happy" from the set and used it for the title. Both chipboard pieces are painted in black gesso. I then added Glossy Accents to the title only. I wanted to give it a little shine.

Projects with Kerryn Lawson

Hello!  Kerryn here with you today for my first post as part of the Blue Fern Studios design team.  It is very exciting indeed!

I live in South Australia with my husband and two children.  I have been scrapbooking for about 6 years now and it is a daily obsession.  My husband is the one responsible for introducing me to the world of scrapbooking, a decision he now probably regrets, but I for one am eternally grateful.  I scrapbook in both 8.5x11 and 12x12 and occasionally I dabble in both cards and off the page projects.

Today I would like to share a layout and a card with you.

First up is the layout.  This layout focusses on my son and incorporates some of my favourite Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces.

The widgetworks set has become a go to set for me.  The arrow piece has been simply inked with charcoal ink.

The quatrefoil garden panel is a fabulously versatile piece.  I have cut the panel in two and embossed both pieces with distress embossing powder.  The two pieces were then incorporated into the design in place of patterned paper.

For my card I combined two different Blue Fern Studios pieces to create a lovely floral cluster on the card.

The seasonal wildflowers have been inked with sage ink with white paint and vintage photo distress ink randomly applied to add detail.  The garden daisies have been given a more subtle treatment of sandstone ink, gold perfect pearls and vintage photo distress ink.

Chipboards and Beads by Camilla

Hi there! Camilla here with two new Blue Fern Studio projects. First one is a layout of my son with his skateboard. Blue Fern Studios has some great title chipboards! I have used Boys Will Be Boys and I also have used the Quatrefoil Garden Panel  and a heart from the Heart Set.

To match the papers I first covered the chipboards with white gesso. Then I added some blue microbeads and some brownish beads before I covered the chippies with glossy accent.

Then I made a card using the Organic Vine Corner and Nested Circles. I really like to use naked chipboards sometimes. It makes a great contrast to colours, here purple.

Make sure to check in every other day to get some new chipboard inspiration! See ya!
