Making Memories

Hello! Back to you with a new layout!
For this layout I used the Eclectic Charm Collection. This is a photo of my grandson with his Great grandfather. Jax's grandpa has Alzheimers Disease and yet without fail he recognizes his great grandson each and every visit. I love this picture!
I framed this photo with an older piece of Blue Fern chipboard. It was a clock but I cut the outer rim off. I used layers of different papers to back my photo.
My background entails the use of two different stencils and some Prima paste and Viva Decor Modelling paste.
I used Wheat embossing powder to color my title.
I used some Prima blooms to finish embellishing my page.

Thanks for visiting! All the best! :)

Accordion tag album with box

Hello, DT Henriëtte here today sharing an accordion tag album and matching box.
I've made this project using the Eclectic charm papers.

I first made the accordion tag album.
I cut five tags out of heavy cardstock. They are 6 x 4 inches.
The tags are connected with tape to create the accordion effect.

Then I covered the tags with papers from the Eclectic charm collection.
I also made two pockets to put in ephemera or tags.

To close the album I used a crochet doily and ribbon. The doily is not attached.

Once I finished the mini album I knew the measurements to create the box.
Using the site "templatemaker.nl" I made a large matchbox.

I decorate the lid with laces, papers, flowers and
 leave die cuts.

Thanks for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog.

Hugs, Henriëtte.

Holly Jolly Layout - by Vicky Alberto

Before packing up the holiday crafting, I am sharing a layout created with the beautiful Christmas Cheer collection. I love the timeless look of these papers!

I used the Holly Days Flourish and Fa La La Border chipboard pieces, along pretty white blooms, to frame a vintage stock photo.

I kept the design and inking of the chipboard simple to let the pretty paper design shine. Everything except for a paper doily is gorgeous Blue Fern product.

I hope you enjoyed my project today!

Christmas Cheer

One more Christmas layout before I pack away the Christmas supplies!
I collect Christmas ornaments. Sometimes I get a new ornament from my grandchildren other years I buy one or am gifted one with the date. My goal is to one day have a tree where no two ornaments are the same. I am definitely not someone who likes a uniform tree!
I used Blue Fern's Christmas Cheer collection for this layout. I did the usual background work on this with some stenciling in red. I traced some of the ornaments that came in the Christmas Baubles Chipboard set and cut them out. I used the Christmas Collage and Joyous Borders stamps and stamped each ornament with embossing ink then heat embossed them with either Ginger or Sage embossing powder.
I painted the chipboard ornaments with Art Alchemy paints from Finnabair. I picked three of my favourite ornaments from my tree and cut them into circles, backing them with paper ornaments made from the collection.
Prima blooms, my go to flowers were perfect for this layout.
For my title I used the phrase that came in the Christmas Baubles set and embossed it with Ginger.
I used some Seedlings in Flaming red to add more texture to my page. A pretty basic layout. Thanks for dropping by!  All the best! :)

I used the following Blue Fern supplies:

Papers
Happy
Cheerful
Merry

Chipboard
Christmas Baubles

Seedlings
Flaming

Embossing Powder
Ginger

Christmas Envelope Wallet

Hello, Henriëtte here. On this day before Christmas I'm sharing a project I've made
with the Christmas Cheer Papers.

I've made a envelope wallet. The idea for this fun project I found here.
You can use it in a junk journal or as snailmail.

I used three large envelopes which I tea dyed.
Before glueing  the panels to the envelopes I stitched around the papers.

The inside has a pocket on the left to put in ephemera pieces and a pocket
on the right with a large tag.

I used an eyelet and red ribbon to close the wallet.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Blue Fern Studios blog.

We wish you all a very
Merry Christmas.

Hugs, Henriëtte.

Christmas Cheer Ornaments - by Vicky Alberto

Just over a week until Christmas! Sharing a few fun ornaments created with the new Blue Fern Christmas Cheer paper collection and chipboard today...

On the "Christmas Cuties" chipboard, I painted them off-white and polished with glass beads mixed media gel. I wanted the focus to be the "delighted" paper, surrounded by soft elegance.

I used some pretty Blue Fern "summer blooms" and ribbon that matched perfectly for this project!

Thanks for taking a peek today & happy holidays!

Christmas Morning

Hello and welcome. I have a wintery layout for you today called Christmas Morning using the Christmas Cheer Collection from Blue Fern Studios.
This photo was taken in 1967! And yes that is me on the left in red. This was taken Christmas Morning before Christmas Mass. I remember how proud I was of my red coat that my mother had painstakingly made for me. (She made my sister's as well). For my background I used the Delighted paper.
I did some background work with stencils and glitter paste. (It sparkles so much in person)
I used a variety of chipboard pieces on this layout starting with this tag from the Good Tidings Tags set. I heat embossed it with Ginger embossing powder and added some Flaming Seedlings for contrast.
I used this adorable holly from the Holly Days Flourish set and embossed it with Ginger, Garnet and Sage. I cut the chipboard into two pieces so I could stretch it more.
Some at the top of the page as well.

I used the numbers and tree from the tag as additional embellishments within my flower cluster. I also used some Berry Stems (love these!) and Lush Leaves.
I used a variety of blooms from Prima, Petaloo and 49 & Market. Once the page was done I went over everything with a light dusting of gesso to give it a more snowy look.
I also used some lace from Blue Fern Studios.
Two little Christmas bells were the finishing touch.

I love this time of year. It is for sure the most hectic for me as I do a ton of baking for my family and some elderly people in my community. Plus the shopping, decorating and general having fun! It is also when I celebrate my Birthday. My mother was born Christmas Eve, I was born on the 18th.
I wish you all the very best this holiday season and may you have a very Merry Christmas!
