July Inspiration With Debbie, Featuring Serendipity and Sanctuary

Hi everyone!  Hope everyone here in the USA is enjoying their summer.  The weather has been up and down, sunny, hot, mild and breezy with a twist of rain. Can't complain though.  Lots of time to spend outdoors on the weekends!  Today I have three layouts to share created with the Serendipity and Sanctuary paper collections, along with lots of chipboard, embossing powders, glitter and  flowers.
My first layout features the Serendipity paper collection and a sweet photo of a friend's daughter.   I used the Merriment paper for the background and added some texture  with some masking, paint splatters, misting with the Imagine Ink Sky and Cotton Candy Mists, along with some random stamping with the Garden Frolic stamp.   The layers under the photo are from Calling Cards, Anticipation, Chronicle and Fascination.

I used the Deja Vu Dangle Chippies here, embossed with many colors, Mushroom, Snow, Auburn, Fuchsia and Breeze.

To the side of my photo is a cluster of Blue Fern flowers, including the Attic Charm Daisies and Glitter Roses along with some Tranquil Lilies.  I cut apart a Berry Stem chipboard piece which was embossed with a mixture of Auburn and 14 Karat embossing powders.  I added a few metal flowers which were embossed with Snow, 14 Karat, Breeze and Fuchsia embossing powders.

Here I've placed pieces of the Quatrefoil Panel and Tangier Page Panel, both embossed with Snow, 14 Karat, Breeze and Fuchsia embossing powders along with a sprinkling of Blue Ice and The Pink Ladies Imagine Ink Glitter.

My next layout features the Glee paper from the Serendipity collection.   I added some  masking and paint splatters.  Layers  underneath the photo are from the Imagination paper and Keepsakes paper from the Timeless collection.  I had a lot of fun working on this layout mixing embossing powders to compliment my picture, which I took it a few years ago.  I have a big planter on my deck full of daisies.

The Blooming Flourish chipboard was embossed with a mixture of Verdant, Sage and Auburn embossing powers.  I cut the flourish in half and used it on both sides of my photo.  The Royal Monarch Butterfly and Mini Ring Things chipboard were covered in brown ink and then embossed with a mixture of Verdant, Auburn, Chili Power and Tangerine Embossing Powders.

The title is from the Brilliant, Amazing, Dazzling word set, embossed with the same mixture of embossing powers I used on the butterfly and mini rings.  I used a stencil on the background with some brown texture paste and sprinkled on some Autumn Glitter and Auburn embossing powder.

The Floral Lattice Bits Chipboard was embossed with Mushroom and lightly ink with cranberry and purple inks.

The Light & Dark of it

Hi Blue Fern fans!  Today we thought we would share with you some layouts from various members of our Creative Team.  Some of the layouts will be light and some will be dark.  Like most of you, we like to mix it up, and Blue Fern paper will allow you to do that with our diverse paper collections.

First up, let's take a look at some layouts that are soft and mellow.

Marie Eve Bernard used this paper from the Serendipity collection with muted colors that seem to have been made just for this adorable baby photo.  She created just the amount of color she wanted with texture and embellishments.

Sandi Clarkson has chosen to use the somewhat brighter Blush collection for this soft, romantic wedding layout, with stunning pops of color.

This light pink paper from the Serendipity collection is what Cathi O'Neill chose for her layout with this unique photo.  The color palette of the background allows this bold photo to be the star of the show!

But sometimes we are all in the mood for something a little darker - a little more dramatic.  See how the next three members of our Creative Team used darker paper for their layouts.

Speaking of drama, Marie Josee Hamel's layout using paper from the Timeless collection is quite dramatic with the stark white against the beautiful background.

The photo on Pascale Bernard's layout stands out beautifully, thanks to the various shades of gold she has added to this stunning layout.  This paper is from the Sanctuary collection

Nicole Doiron began with this dark background paper from the Serendipity collection and brought it to life by adding soft colors with  the flowers, chipboard, and other embellishments.  It really adds to the sweetness of this darling photo.

We thought we would finish it up with this art journal page created by Wilma Voermans who chose to use both dark and light, resulting in gorgeous contrast.  The chipboard piece from the "2 Hearts Set", which she has painted black, is the focal point of her page.

That's it for today.  We hope you enjoyed seeing the many ways Blue Fern products can be used, whether you're in a light and airy mood, or a more dark and dramatic mood.

Enjoy your weekend!

Tranquility Inspiration & More - by Nicole Doiron

You have seen lots of beautiful creations featuring Blue Fern Studios' latest collection Tranquility, and I am sure that you are in love with it!  I have to say that I absolutely adore all BFS collections, but this one is my new favorite!  It has everything to please my crafty heart from beautiful wood grain to soft earthy tones!!

Let's start my post today with more details on 2 layouts using Tranquility that you may have already seen on the blog, the first one being my take on the May sketch challenge

This is the gorgeous Blue Fern Studios sketch for May.

To coincide with the Tranquility collection, Blue Fern Studios has released a few sets of chipboard words that match the name of each paper in the collection.  I chose the word Jubilation for my layout in order to represent the blooming of nature that makes most everyone happy during this time of year...
Springtime in the northern hemisphere!

I used a brand new Imagine Ink Embossing Powder color on my title and the Scalloped Border which is simply called Ruby, and I can tell that it will be used a lot on in future creating because the colour is so rich and beautiful!

On the Spring Trinkets, I used Tangerine.  And on my background, I embossed a stamp pattern using the Wallflower stamp and Chili Powder embossing powder.

As you may well know, Blue Fern Studios are making flowers now, and when I saw these orange pretties from the Tranquil Blooms set, I knew I had to use them right away.  They were the main inspiration,
along with the sketch, for my entire page.

Paper: Tranquility (Hushed, Peaceful, Serenity, Calling Cards)
Chipboard: Jubilation, Spring Trinkets, Scalloped Border
Flowers: Tranquil Blooms
Stamp: Wallflower
Imagine Ink Embossing Powders: Ruby, Tangerine, Chili Powder

Next is this very serene layout created on some of that gorgeous woodgrain pattern I mentioned earlier.

The name of this collection is perfect... all papers give a soothing sense of calm...

And the title Serenity seemed to fit perfectly!  I embossed the bottom part of it first with Seamist, and then did the part with Snow, and I blended it together with a little pearly paint and some light touches of gold.

One of my favorite chipboard pieces is this delectable feather called La Plume.
I covered it with Snow embossing powder and dipped one side of it in metallic gold paint.

I absolutely adore this quote and found that it went perfectly with the my page.

Chipboard: Serenity, Checker Bits, La Plume
Stamp: Texture Set One
Flowers: Tranquility Blooms, Courtship Blooms

And my last share for you today is this brand new layout created with older BFS papers, a combination of Sanctuary and Autumn Anthology collections as well as the pretty blue packaging cardstock
that comes with all your Blue Fern Studios products.

Below you can see the Capture the Moment title covered with Breeze Imagine Ink embossing powder.
I find it looks so nice against the rich burgundy background paper.

Another favorite chipboard piece of mine is this one called Deja Vu Atelier.  I love the combination of floral
and steampunk with fancy paneling.  I covered it with Garnet embossing powder.

On the upper right corner of my layout is a little cluster of embellishments,
including an Ironwork Accent and Leafy Page Accent.

You can see a glimpse here of my stamping work on the bottom layer of paper
using the Serendipity stamp and Blue Sky embossing powder.

I am so grateful to Blue Fern Studios for all these amazing products!
