Beauty in the Garden

I am ever so grateful to Blue Fern for letting me play with such amazing chippies and for helping them launch their products all around the world.  With that, I picked a few of my favorite pieces to share with you.

This is a wall hanging I made pulling a few elements of nature together.

I created some tags with some stamps and inks, but then I decided I did not want to leave them as tags.  That's when I opted to turn them into something more decorative.  I found the  Blue Fern chippies to be the perfect accent.

I used the Blue Fern Lattice Gate and coated it with gold embossing enamel. This is the perfect piece to tie my two tags together and create a garden feel.

You can see I also added some green eyelash trim for some vines in my garden.

 Spring Iris Small - 074912
Every garden needs flowers so I grabbed the Blue Fern small Spring Iris set. I painted them with acrylic paints.

Vintage Ballerina
The ballerina image is soft, feminine, and elegant.  My choice for chippie was really easy.... I grabbed the Blue Fern Frame.  In my opinion, this is such an elegant and delicate piece of chipboard, just exquisite.

I kept it simple by painting it with a sandy cream acrylic, dabbed with white and inked the edges dark brown.

I embellished with my own jewelry chain and vintage metal piece.

Here is a close up where you can get a better view of the inking and painting on the chipboard.  Chipboard doesn't  always need to have fussy complicated treatments and toppings.  Sometimes unpainted or neked - as I like to call it - is perfect.  A simple coat of paint.  Easy.  Inked edges?  Done.

Thanks so much for stopping here today.

Two projects with Irina Gerschuk

Hi there my dear scrappy friends))))

It's Irina with you today. And I'd like to share with you my two new projects.

First one is a LO. On the photo is my little sister. Well, maybe not so little any more... She is almost 12 years old now and has her own opinion about everything)))) For example not long ago she decided not to photo ever again. Thanks the Universe, Alexandra loves scrapbooking! So after all she agreed to stand in front of my camera for a few minutes)))
And here are some close-ups:
I mixed six different kinds of BFS chippies in this LO. Different designs perfectly match and complement each other! And it was so much fun to play with them)))
I used Blue Fern Frame as a mask here. It looks amazing!
The designs of some of the chippies are so delicate that it was not hard to gave them more dimension by bending them and passing between other embellishments:
It took quite a time to realize how to finish the composition on the top. But after all I saw a swirly heart from the Heart Set and took a little piece from it that matched all the flourishes.
All the BFS chippies I covered with white embossing powder and than added a little bit of bronze emboss powder as a second layer. I was trying to achieve some shabby effect (as an old paint or rust).

And here are the Blue Fern Studios products I used for the LO:

The second project is a soft notebook made from scratch:

I covered the Symphony Border with gold embossing powder to match the color of the fabric:

Well ladies, I really hope that you've had some fun)))) And thanks for stopping!

Wish you all the best!

Some Pages from Irene Tan

Hello everyone! It's Irene here! Today I would like to share with you all some of my February projects using Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces. First up, is a layout titled "Live In Fairytale".

On this layout, I've used a Blue Fern Frame.
I've first cut the frame into two parts and painted the frame with some paints. Later, I've tied the frame together again using some twine and string of pearls to create the swing look.

Here's a picture of the chipboard I've used:

My second project is an Art Journal page titled "Love"

On this page, I've used a piece from the Heart Set chipboard.

I've painted the chipboard with some thick dimensional paint and while it is still wet, I've sprinkled it with some micro beads. Lightly pat the micro beads into the dimensional paint to make sure it sticks.

Here is a picture of the chipboard used:

Hope you all like the projects today!

A Couple of Layouts with Mona Pendleton

Hi there Blue Fern Studios fans! It's Mona Pendleton here today to share a few layouts I created using the following beautiful Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces: Nested Circles, Brigitte Butterflies and a Blue Fern Frame.

First up is a layout featuring a photo of sweet daughter and step son that was taken nearly 10 years ago along with a beautiful Brigitte Butterfly and a trio of Nested Circles.
I applied some embossing enamel to each of the pieces of chipboard. What's not to love about the beautiful design of all the butterflies included in the Brigitte Butterfly Set?!

My second layout features a photo of my dear husband and step children along with another beautiful Brigette Butterfly and a gorgeous ornate Blue Fern Frame.
The Blue Fern Frame is FULL of so much detail, I simply applied a coat of enamel, adhered a few embellishments then topped it off the layout with a pretty golden embossed Brigette Butterfly.

Shown below are the Blue Fern Products used on my layouts today:
Blue Fern Frame: 074325
 Nested Circles: 074455
Brigitte Butterfly Set: 074387

"Sweet girl"

Hi:)
This is my very first blog post here at the Blue Fern Studios blog.
I am so proud to work with so many talented girls.
I  hope you like my work,
and that you get some inspiration to use this wonderful chipboard.

My name is Vibeke Harila. I am 38 years old, and I live here in Norway.
I live together with my handsome man, my 2 lovely girls – and we also have 2 cats.

I started scrapbooking in 2007, when I got my youngest girl.

My style is very different. I LOVE painting on my layouts. But next time I maybe make some vintage layouts
– or shabby;) I also do some art journals and cards. But mostly layouts.
I am working a lot with details, and try to do something new every time.

I have been on different designteam,
but today I am a proud designteam member over at Lilo in Mollys Scrapbooking.

When I  first look at the designteam call over at Blue Fern Studios I got so happy.
This was so ME.
I am so proud to be a part of this team.
So talented girls – and the products are beautiful.

You can visit me blog here: http://vibekescrapperogskryter.blogspot.no/

Today I want to show you a layout I have maked of my sweet girl.
Enjoy:)

For this layout I have used the beautiful Blue Fern Frame.
This is so special and lovely. And big :)

I have also used one piece of  the Ornate Medallions.

I love the way this chipboard looks.
First I took some white paint. Then I painted over it with the brown Dylusions spray.
So great looking!!:) Some stamping - and covered it all with Dimensional Magic Lakk.

You can see that a little bit of the frame is pink. This is pink embossing.
