July inspiration by Wendy Scholten

Hi All,
July is almost at the end, wow how time flies when you are having fun ;-)
And fun i did have with this new gorgeous collection Wanderlust.
In real life it's even better then on the pictures!
Just love this collection, it's so perfect for your (holiday) pictures,
if they are made in the mountains, at the beach or on the water.

I have 2 layouts and a mini album for you this month all featuring the Wanderlust Collection

So let's start with my first layout called:

'Mountain View'

This picture was made in Yangshuo-China where i went with my sister last year on a road trip. Just love those mountains, this was our view from the hotel terras.

I used the Wanderlust- Ocean Voyage paper and the word explore from the calling cards paper.
I used a stencil with moddeling paste and the Departure stamp to create my background.
For my chipboard i used the Natural Frame which i embossed with the oatmeal embossing powder and the Mountain view title with Hot Cocoa embossing powder. I also used a brown frame from the printed chipboard pieces.
Have you seen Blue Fern studios newest product? Their lace is gorgeous, i love to work with lace so i'm very happy they have it now. I used the Lace 3 and the Ivory Braided Trim on this layout. And i cut out a flower from the Lace 1.
The new collection comes with beautiful flowers which match the papers very well, the Wanderlust Lilies, i used one in my flower cluster. And i used a few embellishments from my own stast like a small bottle filled with glitter, a button, small flowers and some chrystals.

And my second layout:

'Explore'

I think this photo is so cute of our daughter with her 2 nieces, they are so fond of eachother, it's so adorable!
I used the Wanderlust Calling Cards paper and the Petites paper.
The only thing i did for my background was using the Departure Stamp. And a few calling cards.

For my chipboard i used the Seaside Frame and the word Explore from the Wanderlust Words.
I embossed them all with the Hot Cocoa embossing powder.
I cut out pieces of the Lace 4 to tuck behind my flower clusters, where i also used a Wanderlust Lilie.
And a piece of the Printed chipboard which i cut in half.
I also used some shells, small flowers, acrylic pebbles and metal embellishments from my own stash.

And this is my mini album in a box:

'Journey'

It's a chipboard box and album where i used the Wanderlust papers on and a sheet of acrylic paper.
We went sailing on a small boat last summer with our daughter and my family in-law.
She and her nephew had the best time ever!
For the top off the box i used a piece of the Road Trip paper, a piece of the Ivory Braided Trim, the Curling Corner which i cut in half and embossed with the Hot cocoa Embossing powder as well as the word Journey from the Wanderlust Words set, a wanderlust Lilie and some embellishments from my own stash.
I used some ink on the edges of the box and also the edges from the entire album.
And binded the album with some string.
For the front of the album i used an acrylic sheet behind my cover, so i could use the other piece of the Curling Corner and glue it on there, i embossed it on both sides so the inner side also has color.
I usd the Departure Stamp to give my paper some texture.
A few flowers, a piece of the Lace 3 and a piece of the calling cards paper to finish it.
For the inside pages i used some pieces from the Calling cards, Printed Chipboard, stamps, lace and some other small embellishments, below the last picture you can find a list from what i used in this album.

(My daughter put the shell and flower embellishments before my album, i think she did a good job, it looks good, lol!)

Hi everyone,

I am verry excited to share my layouts with you this month.
For my first 2 layouts, I have used the new collection Wonderlust and the last one is made from Garden Life.

EXPLORE

To create my layout, I used the back side or the Petites paper.
I wanted to create a vintage layout about traveling made with an old family picture.
I used one stamp of the Travel time stamp kit and emboss-it with Pearl embossing powder direcly on the paper.
I used a part of Lace 5 under my picture to add dimention.
I used Avocado embossing powder on my Swallo boarder chipboard.
And I used some Vintage Jade glitter on my Explore title.
Than I had here and there chippies from the coordinated chipboard of Wanderlust collection.
To finish my layout, I haded some flowers from this collection.

Here some close-up to see details and dimention of my layout.

I have also used the Circle flourish small chipboard embossing with 14 Karat embossing powder and some pieces of the Floral lattice bites painted in yellow with acrylic paint.

Party Dress by Tracy Funk

Welcome to Wednesday, everyone!  We are back with another project from our July Blue Fern Fan of the month, Tracy Funk, using the Garden Life Collection.  This photo from the 60's brings back memories for some of us!

I'm happy to be back with my third layout for Blue Fern Studios as their "Fan of the Month" for July. It's called "Party Dress" and features a photo of my sister, Linda, in 1965.

For this layout, I used the In Bloom paper from the Garden Life collection for the background and some cream-coloured cardstock for the doily die-cuts.

I used the Flutter Medley and Bohemian Flowers chipboard pieces. I heat-embossed the Flutter Medley with embossing powder and rubbed some white paint overtop.  I didn't like the contrast that created so I did a wash of watery white paint overtop to tone it down.  I applied golden yellow glitter glue to the butterflies.  When that was dry I squeezed some white glue on the interior portions of the wings and sprinkled it with Sunlight Rose Imagine Ink Embossing Powder before heat setting it.

The Bohemian Flowers were painted white and embossed with Baby Pink Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.

I also used a couple of pieces of printed chipboard from the Garden Life collection.

I used some of Blue Fern Studios' Garden Florals, Garden Blooms and Happy Roses as well.
