2 layouts and a BEFORE and AFTER from Lisa

Hi there!! Lisa here with 3 projects to share with you.
This first layout I fussy cut a piece of the lattice in the Blue Fern Garden paper and used pop dots under it to give it depth. I also inked the edges slightly. The title word Heaven Sent is from the Spiritually Speaking set. I scanned a portion of the paper with the butterfly image so that I could make a file of the butterflies to match. I fussy cut them, finger painted them with Rock Candy Stickles and placed them randomly around the page.

I chose to use the  Bordeaux Layered Frame without the base as I wanted an airy and lacy look. I will save the base for another time. I used white acrylic paint for the base. i  then painted a piece of plastic bag using 2 colors and layed it on the chipboard paint side down while the paint was still wet, then peeled it off of the chipboard for a variegated look.

I used the same paint technique for the Veranda Bird Cages and "hung" them from the lattice.

I wanted to create a fun layout for the photo of my daughter in law who dressed like Barbie last year. I fussy cut the photo. Lots of Barbie Pink.

Chunky Heart Panel

I decided to do something a little different for this post. I did a layout that I was completely satisfied with. I started to pull out Blue Fern Studios Chip board and thought I could just add to my already completed layout. And that is what I did. Just by adding a few pieces  using an additional color, it changed the whole layout. Now I love it even better. So if you think you love your layouts and projects now, try adding a few pieces of Blue Fern Studios chip board. You will be amazed at the difference!!

                                         BEFORE                                         AFTER
to frame my photo. I used a metallic rub for the base and an acrylic glaze for the top detailed layer.

I used the same acrylic glaze for the   Lace Heart Border  which I cut down and only used 2 hearts from the strip.

And once again I used the same acrylic glaze for my  Love Always chipboard. I did not base coat the chip board this time, just 2 coats of the glaze left a beautiful richness to the color over the chipboard.

Thanks for the visit today. I hope you check out Blue Fern Studios Blog to see all of the beautiful inspiring creations by our design team. They constantly amaze me with the use of each and every piece.

February Projects w/Erin Blegen

Good morning, my Blue Fern Studios friends!

Erin Blegen here with you today to share my February projects. I have a bit of a variety for you, so I hope you have a moment to scroll on through :)

"Snapshots" Canvas
What I tried to focus on this month was specializing each piece with some special chipboard, and showing how you can create something great without a ton of effort. As you can see here, I've left this chipboard film strip raw. I loved the contrast against my brightly colored canvas and it was just what I needed to tone this project down and ground it appropriately.

I really tried to take advantage of this film strip and use its openings to showcase embellishments and even my title quote.

On my next two projects I've showcased the "Blue Fern Garden" paper collection.
First, I have a card to share:

"You Are So Loved" Card
I'm still so blown away by the incredibly realistic details on these papers. Look at that butterfly- doesn't it appear to be dimensional, ready to fly away? It's hard to believe that this is a flat patterned paper!

I've chosen to showcase one of the Royal Page Baubles pieces on this card. I first painted it with gesso before using a chalk ink to stamp a design over top. Before the ink had an opportunity to dry, I dusted it with clear embossing powder and set with a heat gun. Finally, I backed the middle of the chipboard piece with a transparency.

Finally, I have a handmade notebook/mini album/journal to share :)

"Blue Fern Garden Journal"
The base of this journal is cardboard from an empty cereal box. I covered it with Blue Fern Garden papers before hand stitching several pages into the inside.

A really great feature of these papers is it offers the best of both worlds: fantastic imagery which allows you to minimalize your own embellishing, and amazing background papers which work great with mixed media and journaling while providing a pleasant contrast to the more bold papers.

Blue Fern Garden papre layout and card Yuko

Hello! Yuko here!
New paper "Blue Fern Garden" is very beautiful!!!
I love these  papers and chipboards!

I made the layout using this beautiful paper and chipboard!

【CAPTURE the moment】
Vintage Keys

The texture was attached to the paper of pasteboard with modeling paste,
 and pan pastel colored.

The paper was cut off in the shape of a lattice.

The chipboard of this title is easy-to-use in a very good size.
It was processed with texture paste and acrylics paints.

And one more layout.

【dream】
Heart Borders
The Optimist Word Set
 Tattered Diamond Bits

Even if a paper is very thick and it processes it in mist etc.,
a favorite does not curve!

I painted the crackle paint to this title.

And I made a card with the remaining paper.

Thank you for seeing!
Making a layout from this wonderful product from now on enjoys itself, and it is !.
