Stillness

Welcome! It's been a challenging time for all of us as of late. I hope all is well with you and your loved ones during this very difficult time. I have another layout for you today.
This layout was done using the new A Romantic Life collection from Blue Fern Studios.
I used my new stencil from Finnabair and tried a different approach to my masking. I first used molding paste as the base and while the stencil was still down I went over it with dabs of blue and yellow paint then scrapped the paint colors with a credit card down the design. It gives a really nice effect. Of course I did some stamping with the Tattered Newsprint stamp. I then added a bit of lace ( Lace 07A) on top of the design.
I used a variety of chipboard on this. I cut the Bouquet Florets chipboard, colored it with  Honey and Sage embossing powders and layered it behind my photo and papers. I then added another layer of a different lace (I think it's discontinued now) and then added the rest of the Florets on top of that.
I framed my photo with the new Frilly Frame chipboard. The layout is actually quite thick but I like the outcome.
Another close-up of the florets chippie.
I used some of the gorgeous new flowers from Blue Fern in Nightshade to embellish my page and an adorable charm from the Filigree Medal collection.
I used the word Stillness from the Stillness, Contentment and Peaceful collection and embossed it with blue embossing powder and some wheat for a little sparkle. I also colored some lace and ran it along the two sides of my page.
Off to the side I used more of the Bouquet Florets pieces and some blooms as well as a little heart from the Ephemera pack. This is a different kind of layout for me I hope you like it.
Take care, remember social distancing and stay safe!!
All the best! :)

Shine On!

  Good day and welcome!
This layout was done with the Radiance Collection from Blue Fern Studios.
I used doilies as my design element for this page. I used a Prima doily stencil and some Coral Me Crazy Dazzlerz from Shimmerz to add some texture to my background. I then cut out a doily with a Prima die and my chipboard piece is also like a doily.
I cut some of the papers in various formats. I used the Journaling Cards Stamp and stamped out a few cards as well. I layered these various elements behind my photo. I also used a few pieces from the ephemera pack.
A close-up of some of the blooms.
I used a variety of blooms. Some from Prima, others from 49 & Market and Apricot Blooms and Fresh Florals from Blue Fern Studios.
For my title I used an ephemera piece and trimmed it into a circle.

That is all for now. I have just received a parcel with the new A Romantic Life papers and chippies! I can't wait to start a new project and play with these pretty papers!

I will see you soon! All the best! :)

Remember

Welcome back! Today I have a layout done with the Eclectic Charm Collection from Blue Fern Studios.
These are my Godparents. Sadly they have both passed (way too soon). They owned a small Bakery called Ingmars Bakery on Yonge Street in Toronto. Some of my best childhood memories come from visiting that Bakery.
I mixed some Pressed Petals mist from Prima in with some molding paste to use on my background with a stencil also from Prima. I did a little stamping for more interest.
I used some lace from Blue Fern to frame part of my photo.
I used the chipboard Deja Vu Luminaires for this page. I liked the elegance of them. I used black and garnet embossing powder to add color. I used Prima blooms from the Darcel Collection.
The second Luminaire.
I used some Melanges from Prima and painted them with some Prima Art Alchemy paint in metallic Black Berry. My title comes from the Ephemera pack.
That it's for now.
I hope to see you soon!
All the best!

Pockets with the Bird Waltz

Hello, DT Henriëtte here and I'm back with a simple and quick project.
I've made these 3 pockets using the beautiful Bird Waltz papers.

I found a tutorial on how to make these pockets here.
It is very easy to follow.
To decorate the pockets I used papers from the Bird Walz collection.
These papers are so beautiful!

I'm using these pockets to fill with ephemera and send it to penfriends.
But you can also use it in your junk journal.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Henriette.

Explore

Hello. I am back with another layout. Given the incredibly horrible winter weather we are having I felt like cheering myself up with something warmer!
I've used the Wanderer Collection for this layout with a photo I took while on holidays in Prince Edward Island.
I've used the retired  Seaside Frame. I heat embossed it with a variety of embossing powders Taupe, Sage, Ginger, Mushroom, and Sand & Sea.
 A close-up of the frame.
I added some  cheesecloth to my background. I misted it with two colors Tainted Love Teal and South Shore to match the colors on my page. I added some mini Art Stones throughout the cheesecloth using a stencil then colored them as well for added texture. This also shows one of my flower clusters using Blue Fern blooms misted to match the color of my page.
This is the flower cluster on the bottom half of my page. I've used some seashells I collected on the beach in P.E.I. and stamped a seahorse using the Seashore stamp. I've also added some teal prills for more texture.
Top part of the chipboard piece. I also used some 3D embellishments from 49 & Market.
For my title I used a piece of the printed chipboard.
Close-up of the left hand side of the chipboard.
I used a piece of the printed chipboard and added a second frame underneath the large chipboard frame. For fun I added a flair.
 Last close-up.

Paper bag mini journal

Hello everyone! Henriëtte here with a mini journal made from a paper bag and decorated
with the Eclectic Charm collection.

This mini journal measures 5,5 x 3 1/4 inches.
I found the idea for this kind of journal on the Creativecafegirl You Tube channel.
She has various tutorials available.

The cover is made using a small paper bag.
I've glued a cute bird from the ephemera pack on the front and for closure I've added a ribbon.
The pages inside the journal are kraft packaging papers.
This journal has 12 pages and all pages are decorated with the Eclectic charm papers.

On the first page I've made a side pocket with ephemera and added a chipboard piece from the
flourish and flowers set. I've used a black inkpad to color the chipboard.
On the right page I've added a tiny coin envelope and in it are two small tags.

On these two pages I've made two side pockets with ephemera from the
Eclectic charm calling cards and a inked flower chipboard.

Here I've made a flip out with washi tape and on the right a bellyband to hold ephemera.

These two pages both have a little tuck spot made from two ephemera pieces.

The page on the left has a pocket. The other page is not embellished.
The paper was just so beautiful.

Next, two pages with stamped images. I've used two stamp sets:
Spread your wings and fancy clocks.
I've stamped the images with black chalk ink.

The last two pages have a side pocket and also the pocket from the paper bag.
It can hold ephemera pieces and journaling paper.

I hope you like my little Eclectic Charm journal.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Blue Fern Studios blog!!

Hugs, Henriëtte.
