Apple of my Eye

Good day! Back to you with a colorful layout featuring the Radiance Collection from Blue Fern Studios.

This is one of my favorite photos of my eldest granddaughter Lilly when she was just a baby (soon to be 13 this month). The Radiance collection papers were perfect for this photo.
For my background I used clear Gesso to prime my papers. I added some colors (Raspberry Lemonade, Orange Creamsicle, and Salt Water Taffy from Lindy's Stamp Gang) to my page with a stencil. I did a bit of random stamping using the Scripted Medley and Tattered Newsprint stamps. I went around my photo area with a flower stencil and some molding paste. I added Pink Topaz Seedlings in the center for some fun texture. I also used pieces of lace around the chipboard frame.
I backed my photo with some strips of other papers from the line. You can also see I used a leaf charm from the Charms collection.
This is an older frame which is no longer available unfortunately but I had to use it! The hearts just played on my feelings for this sweetheart. I also heat embossed some drywall tape and added it around my photo for added texture and fun.
My title came with an adorable little apple. I heat embossed it first with Fuchsia then again with Pink Dust.
The butterfly came from the Fantasy Butterfly collection. I heat embossed it first with Pink Dust then again with wheat.
You can see here the Layering Stems chipboard which I heat embossed with Avocado and Garden Daisies which were heat embossed with Raspberry, It's a Girl and Avocado.

A close-up of my photo. Isn't she absolutely scrumptious? Love this kid. Now she is taller than me :(

I used a wide variety of Blue Fern blooms for this layout including Fresh Floral, Remnants Blooms, Spring Floral in Pink, White and Yellow. Finished! Thanks for dropping by!

All the best! :)

Accordion mini book

Hello everyone, Henriƫtte here and I have another fun project to share with you today.
It's this coin envelope accordion mini book.

I found a tutorial on you tube on how to make it here.

For the book I used thick chipboard. After I cut all the pieces I decorated the chipboards
with papers from the Eclectic charm collection.
Before glueing on the papers on the front panels I added two circle die cuts
with a brad. This is the closure.
All the edges of the booklet are painted gold with Maya paint.

Picture of the backside.

Next I made the coin envelopes. You can buy these or made them yourself as I did.
I made a template and cut out 8 pieces from the Eclectic charm papers,
assembled the envelopes and cut out half a circle at the top of each envelope.
Then I added a touch of gold on the edges using Maya gold paint.

Using strong adhesive tape I connected all envelopes together and into the booklet.
Only tape in the middle of the envelopes.
This give a fun accordion effect.

I also made eight tags to put in the pockets.
All tags are embellished with Eclectic charm ephemera pieces.

To finish I added a piece of natural twine to close the mini book.

Thanks for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog.

Hugs, Henriƫtte.

Making Memories

Hello! Back to you with a new layout!
For this layout I used the Eclectic Charm Collection. This is a photo of my grandson with his Great grandfather. Jax's grandpa has Alzheimers Disease and yet without fail he recognizes his great grandson each and every visit. I love this picture!
I framed this photo with an older piece of Blue Fern chipboard. It was a clock but I cut the outer rim off. I used layers of different papers to back my photo.
My background entails the use of two different stencils and some Prima paste and Viva Decor Modelling paste.
I used Wheat embossing powder to color my title.
I used some Prima blooms to finish embellishing my page.

Thanks for visiting! All the best! :)

Accordion tag album with box

Hello, DT Henriƫtte here today sharing an accordion tag album and matching box.
I've made this project using the Eclectic charm papers.

I first made the accordion tag album.
I cut five tags out of heavy cardstock. They are 6 x 4 inches.
The tags are connected with tape to create the accordion effect.

Then I covered the tags with papers from the Eclectic charm collection.
I also made two pockets to put in ephemera or tags.

To close the album I used a crochet doily and ribbon. The doily is not attached.

Once I finished the mini album I knew the measurements to create the box.
Using the site "templatemaker.nl" I made a large matchbox.

I decorate the lid with laces, papers, flowers and
 leave die cuts.

Thanks for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog.

Hugs, Henriƫtte.

Holly Jolly Layout - by Vicky Alberto

Before packing up the holiday crafting, I am sharing a layout created with the beautiful Christmas Cheer collection. I love the timeless look of these papers!

I used the Holly Days Flourish and Fa La La Border chipboard pieces, along pretty white blooms, to frame a vintage stock photo.

I kept the design and inking of the chipboard simple to let the pretty paper design shine. Everything except for a paper doily is gorgeous Blue Fern product.

I hope you enjoyed my project today!

Christmas Cheer

One more Christmas layout before I pack away the Christmas supplies!
I collect Christmas ornaments. Sometimes I get a new ornament from my grandchildren other years I buy one or am gifted one with the date. My goal is to one day have a tree where no two ornaments are the same. I am definitely not someone who likes a uniform tree!
I used Blue Fern's Christmas Cheer collection for this layout. I did the usual background work on this with some stenciling in red. I traced some of the ornaments that came in the Christmas Baubles Chipboard set and cut them out. I used the Christmas Collage and Joyous Borders stamps and stamped each ornament with embossing ink then heat embossed them with either Ginger or Sage embossing powder.
I painted the chipboard ornaments with Art Alchemy paints from Finnabair. I picked three of my favourite ornaments from my tree and cut them into circles, backing them with paper ornaments made from the collection.
Prima blooms, my go to flowers were perfect for this layout.
For my title I used the phrase that came in the Christmas Baubles set and embossed it with Ginger.
I used some Seedlings in Flaming red to add more texture to my page. A pretty basic layout. Thanks for dropping by!  All the best! :)

I used the following Blue Fern supplies:

Papers
Happy
Cheerful
Merry

Chipboard
Christmas Baubles

Seedlings
Flaming

Embossing Powder
Ginger
Sage
