Bird Wlatz Junk Journal

Today we are featuring a junk journal using the Bird Waltz paper collection designed by Jen Bishop. This project was created for a class we had at this year's Creativation by her mom just for us! the Journal shown here was made as a class sample.

This amazing journal has so many romantic details. The cover has a fabric binding, using the ephemera and cut a-parts from the paper as the focal point and snippets of lace for accents.

The pages are filled with the beautiful papers, bits of an old sheet music, lace trims

and fabric accents

She used clips with ribbons and stamped journal cards with little frames to place

throughout the Journal.

She has all sorts of tuck spots and pockets to add tags, photos, and journal spots.

Adding found objects is part of a Junk Journal and this paper doily fits right in

with the look of the papers.

She created this "Hidden Paperclip" to attach to the pages of the journal as an

extra design element.

The Journal is just filled with lace, ribbon, fabrics and of course the beautiful

Bird Waltz paper collection.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. If you have ever wanted to make a Junk Journal this is the perfect one to start with. Easy to make and has all the elements and

details you would want!

Thanks to Jen's mom for creating such a beautiful Journal.

Making Memories

Hello! I am back today with a new layout using the Glory of the Garden Collection from Blue Fern Studios.
For this layout I decided to go with the teal, blue and gold colors.
I prepared my background with clear Gesso then added some stencil work with a Tim Holtz stencil, Harlequin, and some Tiffany Lou mist. I then added some Seedlings in Aquamarine.
I used two blooms from the Blooming Beauties chipboard pack. I used honey, Sage and Chili Powder embossing powders to color these.
  The second bloom.
I used two butterflies from the Butterfly Garden chipboard pack. This one I embossed with Teal, Ebony and Buttercup embossing powders. I went over the yellow with Melted Butter Glitter.
I used a diecut doily to add an extra layer to my page and the packaging from the Emphemera pack to help back my photo. I used the  frame from the Butterfly Garden chipboard pack and embossed it in blue. I also added a few Art Stones for added texture.
For my title I used the Growing Memories from the Butterfly Garden pack as well and embossed it with teal.
  A close-up of the frame.
For this layout I added just a few flowers from the Radiant Bloom pack and the Happy Bloom pack. The butterfly also ca,e from the Butterfly Garden chipboard pack. I love that you can get so many pieces in one package!

And that's a wrap! All the best! :)

Radiance Shine Your Light Cards

Hi all, I'm back on the blog today to share a couple of cards using the 'Radiance" collection. I was looking for a soft light color pallet for some cards I wanted to make to send out uplifting happy mail to my family and friends.

I enjoy mixing and matching the colors and prints and delicate prints on the  Radiance papers worked well with the white paint I added to the edges. I painted several pieces of chipboard white as well to compliment the die cuts.

I added dimension and texture by fussy cutting flower images and slipping flower petals
between the layers.

I picked out a sentiment from the ephemera pack and painted a little chipboard butterfly with pearlescent paint, finishing off the card with a group of flowers

I was on a roll so I decided to make a second card! This time I wanted something a little different and made an Easel Card.

I added die cuts and snippets of lace in my layers

I used the frame and bird from the ephemera pack for the focal point. Plus lots of flowers to give the card a garden like quality

I really like the easel card style because sit it up!

Layers and layers of flowers and greenery give this card lots of texture!

Thanks for joining me on the blog today. I hope you enjoyed the projects.

All My Heart Album

I'm happy to be sharing my new album using the Heartland collection. I wanted to create a project using this love inspired paper that had an everyday feel, and I am so pleased with how it turned out.

I love piecing, layering, and adding small details to be able to use all the papers. I dyed a little piece of cloth to add texture and found the perfect pink feather to tuck in with the flowers!

I have a passion for die cutting and filled the pages with lots of frames, trellises, fences and gates to give the album a garden theme, adding flowers here and there for texture and color.

I slipped in a couple of half pages to have some added tuck spots and to give the album a little variety

I love small books and projects filled with details. It gives me a chance to rummage through my stash for just the right embellishment, ribbons and flowers!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today to take a look!

See you next time!

Radiance - Summer Treats Layout

The light bright beauty of Radiance was the perfect

collection with it's subtle patterns to capture this

sweet summertime photo.

The Luminescence paper was just the right choice for the background. I added some light stenciling to give depth.

I love to add layers to my layouts using snippets of the papers to accent the photo. I used embossing powders to alter the chipboard to coordinate with the paper and highlight the photo.

Using the ephemera and bits of lace gives me the opportunity to add more layers! The lace adds a delicate embellishment with texture and design.

To balance the large focal image I've added a cluster of flowers and some ephemera and placed a little bling here and there for some sparkle!

Spring Parade Thinking Of You Card

Today I am sharing a card I made using the  "Spring Parade" collection. I am hooked on this collection because it is filled with beautiful flowers as well as seasonal images with so many choices to design with!

I love layers and for me that means lots of fussy cutting! I cut the flower from the "Susie's Garden" and "Joyful" papers, adding a layer of flower images and die cuts to the outer layer
along with some dimensional flowers from the
Remnants Blooms flower pack.

I then popped up the layering piece adding more fussy cut flowers, die cut leaves and dimensional flowers from the Spring Florals flower pack.

And of course I wanted to finish the inside by adding a little layering and a place to write a sweet sentiment to a special friend!

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. I hope your enjoyed the project! Check back soon and see what's new.
