Fall & Winter- By Keren Tamir

Hello Everyone,
Its Keren here with two projects for the Blue Fern Studios blog.
The first one is a layout depicting the beautiful colours of fall.
The second project is a winter wonderland double shadowbox canvases.

"An Autumn Story"

I used the Deja Vu- Un Voyage a Paris paper for the background. Then I started drawing brown leaves with some water-colour oil pastels to mimic the leaves on the ground.

I stamped the brick pattern out of the Essential Texture stamp on the background and I also used the Shabby brick bits behind the photo to double the brick effect.

I also used a chipboard Photo arch on the side of the photo along with "An autumn story" title.

"Noel Blessings"

My second project this month is a set of two 6x6 shadowbox canvases with a wintery theme.

I used the winter flakes and covered them with diamond dust to make them look realistic.
I also used the Winter Forest chipboard set which was covered in gold glitter.

Then I used two separate titles from the Winter title set which I painted in copper acrylic paint.
I used cheese cloth and many other mixed media elements to create this winter wonderland!!

Thank you so much for visiting the Blue Fern studios blog

Have a wonderful day!!

Christmas altered art by Marie-Josee

Hello folks!

This is my last post for Blue Fern Studios and I have three projects to show you, all created with the Vintage Christmas collection.

Box card

I did a bit of fussy cutting for the card. I cut the child and the Christmas tree out of the Calling Cards paper. I used a piece of the Country Picket Fence chipboard between the child and the Christmas tree and a piece of the Winter Flakes chipboard set. Both were altered with white gesso.

Gift bag

I created this gift bag from scratch, using a Vintage Christmas paper. I cut small pieces of the Mini Rings Panel and glued them to each side of the bag. Then, I applied gesso randomly with a sponge. I also added Imagine Ink Embossing Powder in Poinsettia.

Christmas scene

Finally, here's a Christmas scene in a box. I created the box from scratch using kraft paper. I cut the bottom and used parchment paper as a background (you can also use vellum paper). I used various Vintage Christmas papers and a die to create the houses. I added gesso to the edges, as if it is snow. I also altered the two snowflakes from the Winter Flakes set with gesso.

I used parchment paper as a background to be able to light the scene with battery-powered tea lights, which I put behind my Christmas scene, so that it creates a soft glow.

Six cards with the Vintage Christmas collection...

... and the Imagine Ink embossing powders!

Hello, Blue Fern fans!

Today, I will show you six cards that I created with the beautiful Vintage Christmas collection and the new embossing powders.

I used the embossing powders with Versamark ink on the raw chipboards, without painting them or altering them in any way before.

Here are the colors I used :
Petal (rosy white)
Fern (teal)
Poinsettia (red gold)
Lucky (green)

I also used chipboards from four different sets: Framed Winter Words (Peace and Joy and Merry and Bright), Holly Sprigs,Winter Flakes, and Quatrefoil Garden Panels.

Here are my cards!

Delight & Wonder with "Love Story" Collection- By Keren Tamir

"Delight"

I created this layout using the new Blue Fern Studios "Love Story" collection.
I really love how all the Blue Fern Studios collections, including this one, have papers that are versatile for any kind of layout. For example, I used the paper "The Grand Ball" from the collection for a beach themed layout, while the other paper below "Calling Cards" was used for a winter themed layout.

I framed my photo in the new postage frame chipboard. I inked them in metallic chalk ink and then created a stamped pattern on them using the new Forever Textured Stamp.

I used the Delight chipboard title from the "Delight Set" for this layout. I also inked it in the same metallic ink and then glued some glass beads on it.

"Wonder"

This is a winter themed layout using the "Love Story" collection. I used the back of the "Calling Cards" paper as a background as it matched perfectly with the soft colours of the photo.

I framed the photo in the new snowflake chipboard frame which was covered in snow accents paste. I also used some of the chipboard winter flakes and covered them with the snow accents paste, too.

Finally I used the "Wonder" title from the delight chipboard set. It was also covered in snow accents but it was inked in light pink pastel chalk ink to match the flowers.
