January projects by Tartine Peluche

Hi everyone!
I'm so excited to share with you my first projects for Blue Fern Studios;
such an honor and a pleasure to be a part of this fabulous team.
So let me introduce myself.
My name is Melanie, Tartine Peluche on social media. I'm 34 years old and I live Quebec in Canada.
I do principally layouts, sometime cards and canvas. I've been scrapbooking for several years, starting with cards. Since a year I've changed for layouts and I really love that. My style is mostly shabby but I like touch everything and discover new techniques.
What is sure, my style is very detailed and full of flowers.

This is me

My works are always evolving and that's one of things why I love this art.
You can find me on:

I hope to inspire you all year long.

My First layout: I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
I used the back of " Wonderland " paper from the Vintage Christmas collection for the background.
I simply put some texture paste and added a little brown ink and I finished with crackles textures stamps that I emboss with snow embossing powder
and grungy grid stamp emboss with ginger embossing powder.

The main chipboard of this layout is Snowflake Frame-Square. I started by embossing it in snow embossing powder. Then I used crackles textures stamp with brown ink pad and finish with grungy grid stamp emboss with ginger embossing powder.
To add contrast to the main chipboard I used Shabby Flakes. I made a mix of snow embossing powder and vintage gold glitter that I used to emboss the flakes.
Under the flakes I used two pieces of kit Mini Flourishes. I simply embossed with Ginger Embossing powder to bring out the flakes.

I used two deer from the kit Winter Deer also embossed in Ginger Embossing Powder.
I added dimensional paint for simulate snow.

You can better see the effect of mixing glitter and embossing powder on snowflakes here and dimension of white paint on deer.
You can see also the shinning of background create with stamps and embossing powder.

I kept the most beautiful for the end. These flowers are so beautiful. They are perfect!
I add a few micro beads on the pistils.

And a small snowflake to decorate the metallic golden deer.
Love this.

My second project is " Follow your heart "
I use the " Love Song Serenade " paper from the Heartland collection as my background paper.
I added white gesso, a doily stencil and just a little bit of teal ink.

I covered the chipboard "Follow Your Heart " with black gesso and give some shinning with pigment ink silver. I added some small details with teal wire thread.
I cut the chipboard Rose Frame and after putting white gesso I added a small layer of metallic teal paint. Some flowers and beads added the final touch of the top part.

Here I used the same procedure on another piece of chipboard Rose Frame
and completed with flair. Still some beads and small
piece of cheesecloth and this part is finished.

This is my favorite part of my layout.
I covered with white gesso and emboss with Snow embossing powder
I decided to customize my chipboard Treasured Floral Frame with flowers and wire thread, exactly like the chipboard. I really love the result.
Under This chipboard I added other pieces of Rose Frame chipboard,
still altered with white gesso and metallic paint.

Then I used the white flowers Christmas Blossom and coated the center of Caribbean glitter.

Some beads ans stars sequins to add a littles details .

My last layout " These moment "
I used the back of  " Love Blooms " paper from the HEARTLAND collection. I love this blue!
I slightly bleached the paper with white gesso, I used crackle textures stamp with black ink pad then I applied with texture paste. To finish the background I added a little bit of spray ink with a brush.

I used the chipboards Heartland XOXO, the bird of chipboard Spirit of Heartland
and one heart of  Heart Set. I first applied white gesso and I painted all the chipboards
in the same way, with metallic
watercolor paint teal, white and blue.

You can see more the shinning of the paint on this picture on the chipboard with this picture.

I really love the lilies flowers of Blue Fern Studios. For this projet I chose to use the light blue of kit Spring Lilies. They are so beautiful and really perfect for my layout.

To finish I simply added several small details
everywhere on my creation: pearls, sequins and brads.

A Trio of November Inspiration
by Nicole Doiron

Hello all my dear friends at Blue Fern Studios!

Nicole here today to share with you my November projects.

Let's start with this teal shabby chic layout of my niece Ella with her violin.

I used papers from the Serendipity collection to create a grid pattern collage on my page.  The brick design was made using the Essential Textures stamp and Snow Imagine Ink embossing powder.

I combined 2 chipboard pieces to create my title, one from the Sweet & Lucky set on which I created an ombre effect with the Sea Mist, Snow and Caribbean powders, and the other from the French Words set covered with Ebony.

Obviously, most of the pretty flowers found on my page are from Blue Fern Studios!  The bigger teal flower with the fuzzy center is from the brand new Memoires Blooms set - it's gorgeous!

Below you see the very elegant Gatsby Collage that I divided into 2 pieces to slide at either end of my photo.

The chipboard piece that inspired this whole concept is the Courtship Violin that you see peaking out from the bottom corner of the photo of my pretty and gifted niece, Ella!

Patterned Paper: Serendipity (Imagination, Fascination, Chronicle)
Chipboard: Courtship Violin, Gatsby Collage, Sweet & Lucky set, French Words
Flowers: Memoires Blooms, Spring Lilies, Tranquil Blooms, Courtship Blooms
Stamps: Essential Textures
Imagine Ink: Embossing Powders (Caribbean, Sea Mist, Ebony, Snow)

My 2nd page is as boyish as the first one was feminine.

I started off with some vintage Paisley & Vine papers to go along with this more masculine theme.

The title was taken from the Wish Wonder Dream set which I covered with Blue Sky embossing powder.  I added some fabulous Lightbulbs covered with Sand & Sea.

Again, I divided a longer piece of chipboard into 2 pieces, this time a piece of the Printer's Bits to fit vertically above and below my photo. On this piece is the Ruby embossing powder which I dabbed with a little bit of brighter red acrylic paint.

Some more of the Printer's Bits layered over the Triangle Eclipse covered in Stellar Night and dabbed with brown paint. On the background paper, I stamped the netting design from the Essential Textures stamp set.

You've seen this little cutie before... he is  my friend's son.

Last but certainly not least, I share with you a closer look at my layout
that was part of the November challenge reveal, featuring the latest collection, Memoires.

The November challenge is simply to use a Blue Fern Studios chipboard title on your project, ANY title so hopefully you will play along!

I had the perfect title in my BFS chipboard stash for this Autumn layout... An Autumn Story.
I simply covered it with a new favorite shade of Imagine Ink embossing powder called Golden Brick.

On my background, I sprayed different Autumn shades of mists plus used the new Crackled Textures stamps with brown ink and added some stenciling with modeling paste.

After treating it with a mix of Golden Bricks and Chili Powder powders, I cut the Treasured Floral Frame into several pieces to adorn my page with it here and there, combining it with the Fall Foliage set.  On the leaves, I mixed some Chili Powder, Tangerine and Nutmeg.

Another chipboard set that I am totally in love with is the Pretty Pumpkins set and here you see the smaller version. Totally gorgeous!

Finally, here is a closer look at the 'Autumn story' that I chose to document on this layout, a very beautiful shot of a splendid Fall day spent with my man, and framed with beautiful earthy tone flowers, including BFS Tranquil blooms.

June Inspiration With Debbie, Featuring Attic Charm

Hi everyone!  Debbie here with you today sharing three layouts created with the new Attic Charm paper collection, chipboard, and flowers.  I really enjoyed working with Attic Charm papers, beautiful colors and details.  My first inclination was to use vintage photos on my layouts, but I decided to show how versatile the collection is by using photos of the past and present.

My first layout features the Generation paper and a vintage photo that belonged to  my grandmother.  Not sure who the people are in the picture, but I love it, as they look so happy.  I couldn't help but wonder what the occasion was.   I added some texture to the background paper with some masking, misting with the Imagine Ink Sky Mist and some random stamping with the Romantic Accents stamp.  I added additional texture with torn pieces of paper doilies, some of which I misted with the Sky Mist, gold microbeads and some 14 Karat embossing power.  The layers under the photo are from Calling Cards.

I used two pieces of chipboard here, Treasured Floral Frame and Dangle Bird Ornament which I cut  apart. Both were embossed with a mixture of the Imagine Ink Snow, Mushroom and Breeze Embossing Powers, and  some Blue Ice Glitter. I also used the 14 Karat embossing power on the green leaves.  Love the shimmery look!

Lots of Blue Fern Flowers . . . Attic Charm Daisies, Attic Charm Glitter Roses, Courtship Blooms and Tranquil Lilies!  The small green Courtship Bloom I embossed with 14 Karat embossing powder.

My title is a new chipboard piece from the Attic Charm collection.  I embossed with a mixture of  Snow, Mushroom, 14 Karat and Breeze Embossing Powers along with a sprinkling of Blue Ice Glitter.  Love the aged look of it.

My next layout features the Sachet (side B)paper.    I added some random stamping with the Serendipity Medley and Romantic Textures stamps, along with some masking and paint splatters and inking on the background.   Layers  underneath the photo are from the Mercantile, Spring Posy and Calling Cards papers.

The Floral Spray chipboard was embossed with Petal embossing power and the Bohemian Flowers with a mixture of Petal and Melon embossing powders.

I used the Attic Charm Daisies along with a green Tranquil Bloom and added in a few small Bohemian Flower chipboard pieces.  Tucked beneath the flowers I used the Chelsea Vine Chipboard embossed with Sage and Petal.

The title was embossed with a mixture of Nutmeg, Petal and  Mystic Plum embossing powders.

My final layout was created for the June Sketch Challenge.
I used the Curio paper for the background and added some random masking, inking, paint splatters and stamping with the Bourbon Street and Romantic Accent stamps.   I used the  Calling Cards, Attic Key and Haberdashery papers for layers under my photo.  The photo is my dear friend's sweet daughter.  I edited it to give it a Vintage look.  Clusters of flowers include the new Attic Charm Daisies and Glitter Roses, along with some leaves embossed with 14 Karat Embossing powder.  I added two metal butterflies to each side of my photo embossed with Oatmeal, Breeze and Cotton Candy embossing powders.

I placed a portion of the Iron Signage chipboard underneath my photo which I embossed with a mixture of Mushroom, Oatmeal and Breeze Embossing powders.  To the left you can see a heart and key which I embossed with Oatmeal and Cotton Candy embossing powers.  Tucked beneath the Attic Charm Daisy is the Crackle Bits chipboard, embossed with Mushroom, Oatmeal, Breeze and Cotton Candy embossing power and beneath the Glitter Rose is a Blooming Foliage chipboard piece embossed with Verdant embossing powder. Torn pieces of lace were tucked in various places to give some added texture.

Here I've used the Leafy Rings chipboard embossed with the same mixture of embossing powers as the Crackle Bits.  I added some pink and blue micobeads on the chipboard as well as on the background paper.
