Inspirations with Kasia Krzymińska

Hello my friends! My name is Kasia Krzymińska, I'm from Poland and I'm honoured to be a part of this amazing Design Team. It is really hard to explain how I'm still excited and happy to work with these beautiful chipboards. I hope my works will provide you some inspiration. So let's start, here is what I prepared for you this month.

"Believe" - layout

This page was inspired by these beautiful branches. I used them in two ways - I build with them my composition but also used them like a stencils with Glimmer Mists. I got delicate and romantic effect and I really really like it. What do you think about it, did you ever tried to work with your chipboards this way? I think it is really cool to be creative with what you got :)

I used:

Twiggy Branch

Spiritually speaking

Ironwork Accents
XOXO - mail art

Mail art is beautiful way to show our warm feelings to somebody. What I want to show you now is an envelope I embellished with help of Blue Fern Studios chipboard.

I used:

Royal border
"Love" canvas

This tiny canvas is made for my friend. I had fun with her favorite colors and some mixed-media techniques. I love the font of the word I used and I think it's very chic - just perfect to say "I love you".

I used:

Good Vibes
Hope you like my works and feel inspired to work with some Blue Fern Studios chipboards. They are very versatile and you can use them in many ways, you can combine them with mixed-media techniques and create works in your own style.

Borders, flourishes and corners

Hi there, Eila here!
This post is my last one as a design team member for this wonderful company.
I am forever grateful to Leslie for having had me on the Blue Fern Studios inaugural team. What an honour it has been to work together with a group of such enormously talented ladies!
I am wishing the new team lots of creative fun and for taking over the baton, continuing to spread the word about the gorgeous BFS chipboards to the world!
First the sweet memory of Summer's Last Blooms;
I just love how versatile the borders, flourishes and corners are. They can be cut in smaller pieces or used as they are, they always make for pretty layers and accents.

Another one of my favourites is the Lattice Gate.

On my next page, I have used The Royal Border and layered it with one of the Brigitte Butterflies.

Another favourite is the Garden Daisies. It can be dressed in numerous ways and look entirely different depending on what medium is used. Here I have covered it in micro beads in gold.

BFS has a marvellous selection of titles, all of them beautifully cut.

A Layout, A Tag and a Trio of ATC's...oh my...

April Showers Bring May Flowers.... But here in Sunny Florida where I live, the flowering is all year around. So I thought I would spread some Springtime with you today.    Lisa here with your Blue Fern Studios Blog Post. My first project is a tag I created using Lots of Prima product, and The Blue Fern Studios Royal Border is a perfect match to the elegance of the tag. It was the perfect size to sideline the edge.

I had a bottle of Martha Stewart Flocking powder in the perfect color to match the flowers. I applied some Multi Medium to the Regal Border and covered it with the flocking powder, tapping off the excess. It gave the chip board a soft fuzzy look. Softening the hard edge of the tag.

I created the journaling in Photoshop, printed it, cut the words out, inked them, then adhered to the tag. The tag was created using Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplate die.

My next prject is a trio of ATC cards. The smaller pieces of chip board are just perfect for Cards, Tags and ATC cards. I was thinking of turning this trio of ATC cards into a small banner.

Here is a view of the ATC cards individually. Together they form the journaling. "May Your Bobbin Always Be Full". I love to sew and there is always thread in my machine. That makes me happy!! I wound some String (part of my Tim Holtz Tattered Floral contest prize package) around the Miss Tailor bobbins and topped them with a tiny Tim Holtz safety pin.

My last project revolves around my entry for The Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Challenge entry. The paper flowers I created. I wanted to create some flowers for my Blue Fern Studios project that would compliment the Spring Iris chip board. I love the tall stalky delicate flowers.

To technique I used on the chip board was using Silks Acrylic Glaze in various colors of blues and greens. Once the paint was dry, I applied a thick layer of Crackle Accents. To get the  most out of the glaze color, I first painted the chip board with a coat of white acrylic paint.

I used the same technique on the Happiness chip board.

Keep checking back as every  other day, one of the fabulous designers will be displaying new projects with the Blue Fern Studios beautiful chip board. And there is always new stock and new designs being added to the store frequently. Blue Fern Studios is growing in leaps and bounds and I am very proud to be designing for them!!

Watching YOU Put Our Designs To Work!

Hello to all of the Blue Fern Studios fans! This post is dedicated to YOU!

As a new company, it is very exciting to see our pieces put to work. And beyond what our amazing design team creates for your inspiration, it's especially fun to see the consumer use our products to help make their projects even more special. So upload those works to the various online galleries- we're looking at them! And once a month we are going to feature some of the projects we find.

Here is just a sampling of what we've discovered in the galleries this month:

Our "Organic Vine Corner" was the perfect choice to beautifully frame such a lovely photo.

Could there be a more fitting title than this "Sweet" piece from the "Valentine's Word Set"? Adorable!

We adore how Karen has dressed up the "Brigitte Butterfly" piece- so romantic and perfect for this wedding album!

We were blown away by Brit's inventive idea of piecing apart our "Symphony Border" to create the frame around these two sweet little girls!

What a sweet, SWEET layout- and the "Butterfly Kisses" title was a perfect fit!

Bonnie's page has so much to love about it- and we really love how she's used our "Royal Border" to top the whole thing off!

Thank-you to these talents for putting our name out there and for sharing your wonderful works!! We look forward to watching Blue Fern Studios continue to grow, and to seeing your creativity bring our chipboard to life! Thanks for the inspiration- and we hope you come back very soon. Our design team is hard at work crafting up a storm for your creative pleasure- and we have a special surprise coming up for you at the start of next month :).

All the best to you!

Live Fully

Hi there!! I am Kelly Foster, and I am so happy to introduce myself to you and be able to call myself a design team member here at Blue Fern Studios!! A big HUGE thank you to Leslie, for having me here on the team!!
A little bit about me...
Well, I am 26 years old, and I am from the lovely/cold state of Minnesota (USA). I have been scrapbooking for just over two years, I was inspired to begin shortly after the birth of my oldest daughter, Lilah (2.5 years old). I have two daughters, my youngest being Paisley (9 months old).
These two do keep me on my toes, and quite busy, but I do make some "me time" most days for my crafting. I also enjoy sewing, and I love to cook and bake, but scrapbooking comes first for my hobbies, for sure!
As for my "style" I am not sure...I love to use interesting colors, add lots of layers and different mediums, I love experimenting with mixed media and a little bit of messiness. I don't care too much for precision so you will see lots of torn edges and distressing, my style can be quite free spirited. I basically just start with a pile of paper and see where it takes me, based on my mood for the day! Sometimes it comes out all grunged out and sometimes you will see more of the super feminine floral look! You can see more of my work on my blog: http://scrappin-sisters.blogspot.com.

Enough talk, let me share my first layout with you featuring a few favorite pieces of Blue Fern chipboard:

I kept the chipboard pieces pretty simple, to make them stand out against the busy and bright back drop..The Hearts and Royal Border were simply painted with gesso, and I liked the look of the stark white against all of the bright colors of my page.

The Heart below had also been painted with gesso, then was colored with Faber Castell Gelatos in various colors. I then added a few swipes of gesso with my fingertip, and a little chalk ink around the edges to finish it off.
