Karine's August share, with two video tutorials

Hi Blue Fern Fans,

I hope this post finds you well. I'm up today on the blog to share my creations for August. I had fun with the Seaside Cottage collection.

Live

My first layout is called Live. I used the Splendor paper. I primed it with clear gesso and applied modeling paste and inks.

After that, I used the Forever and Making Plans stamps with black ink to add interest on my background paper. I used the Seaside Lanterns, which I embossed with dark brown embossing powder.

To embellish my layout, I used the Cottage Blooms, the Attic Charm Glitter Roses and the Attic Charm Daisies.

On the bottom right corner of my picture, I used one of the Mini Frames, which I also embossed with a dark brown powder.

Dream Big

My second layout is called Dream Big. I used the B side of the Embark Paper.

I used the Making Plans stamp on this layout also. I just love this stamp.

My chipboards are the Garden Lattice Bits, which are embossed with a dark brown embossing powder.

On the picture above, I used some of the Seaside Lilies and Attic Charm Daisies.

My chipboard title, part of The Optimist Words Set, is embossed with a mix of auburn, mushroom and buttercup Imagine Ink embossing powders.

My last layout is called Dazzling. I used the Calling Cards paper.

To add interest to the background, I used the Shabby Edges and the Postal Textures stamps with black ink.

Behind my picture, I used one of the Looped Frames. All my chipboards pieces were embossed with ebony Imagine Ink embossing powder.

I also used half of the Dangle Border in two key places on my layout.

I used Seaside Lilies and Tranquil Roses and Lilies amongst my flower arrangement. I love Blue Fern Studios lilies!

My title piece is part of the Brilliant, Amazing, Dazzling set.

Seaside Cottage inspiration with Pascale

Hello Sweeties

Today, I'm up on Blue Fern Studios blog with three new projects featuring the new collection Seaside Cottage. The first one I want to share showcase a photo taken during my Irish trip of the Doonagore Castle (Doolin, Co.Clare, Ireland).

I started to prime the Mermaid paper with clear gesso. Then I added a design with a stencil and white crackle paste.

While the paste was still wet I added some color. Then I let dry.

First I embossed the Seashell Frame with the Mushroom Imagine Ink, then I sprinkled a little bit of the Icicle too.

I started to built up the layers: first the papers, then some shells, then some flowers and some cheese cloth.

When happy with the cluster, I dry brushed the embellishments with white gesso. Then I added some splatters of the same watercolors I used previously on the background. Then I finished with a blue-gold acrylic paint and with some random stamping with the Journey stamp.

Blue Fern Studios products used:
Papers - Seaside Cottage (Mermaid, Whitewash, Calling Cards)
Chipboard - Seashell Frame
Flowers - Seaside Lilies, Seaside Roses, Courtship Blooms, Tranquil Lilies and Roses
Imagine Ink - Embossing Powders (Mushroom, Icicle)
Stamps - Journey

---------------------------------------

Here is my second July's project using the Seaside Cottage collection.

I started as usual to prime the background with clear gesso. Then I added a design with a stencil and modeling paste. While the paste was still wet I sprinkled some Honey embossing powder and heat set it.

I primed the Quilted Page Panel with clear gesso before covering it with clear crackle paste. I let dry naturally for a better result before adding some mica powders.

I primed the Beach Babe title with white gesso. When dry, I added some gold wax to the edges of the chipboard.

I added some gold wax to the edges of the papers I put under the photo too. Then I glued all the embellishments around the photo.

To finish the layout I splattered a mix of gloss gel, water and the Caribbean glitter to add some sparkle to the page.

Here is my third July's project featuring the Seaside Cottage collection from Blue Fern Studios. This photo was taken during my trip in the Aran Island.

I primed the Regalia paper with clear gesso. Then I added a design with a stencil, first I added paint directly on the stencil, then I put the stencil on the background and added platinum crackle paste through it.

I primed the Ring Panel with clear gesso, then I added a layer of graphite paste.

I glued the different embellishments together with 3D matte gel.

I added some micro beads around the flowers clusters to add some texture.

I used the Postal Texture stamp to finish the layout.

August inspiration by Karolina

Hello everyone! Karolina here.
Today I'm so glad to be sharing with you two creations - a layout using the fabulous new collection Seaside Cottages mixed with another collections and a canvas in a very sweet style using Attic Charm collection. My projects are always very reach and I'm using so many embellishments, layers, flowers, textures and color touches I really like this effect, because then you can read projects using your hands. If you know what I mean Hope you like it!

Fascination

Firstly my layout. I have used one of my favourite combination of colors - turquoise, blue, yellow and brown. It looks amazing, isn't it? On a base paper I chose a beautiful paper from Seaside Cottage collection and then I have built a composition with using differents turquoise-blue shades papers from few collections of Blue Fern Studios. I added also black accents to make my project more contrasty. Then I added some embellishments and flowers of course (a turquoise flower is my handmade flower! I'm proud of myself :D)

Papers: Seaside Cottage - Voyage, Regalia; Sanstuary - Bidsong melody; Serendipity - Calling Cards; Love story - Concerto; Paisley&Vine - Bohemian, Nature; Attic Charm - Curio, Sping Posy
Chipboards: Serendipity words 2, Quilted Page Panel
Glitter: Caribbean, Peacock, Burnt Cooper
Sweet

My second projects is a canvas with my sweet goddaughter Sophie. She is soo cute! But I have to admit that she is very naughty girl ;)
Now Sophie is 2 years old, but I really like this photo. I prepared very reach and high composition using papers from Attic Charm collection. There you can find so many pink and another soft colors papers. I added so many flowers, some embellishents and chipboards of course! To color my title and background chipboard pieces I have used embossing powders - fuhsia and petal and some pieces I left in natural color of chipboard.

Papers:  Attic Charm - Mercantile, Foyer, Calling Cards
Chipboards: Arrow words, Directions, Quatrefoil Panel, Leafy Page accents
Embossing powders: Fuhsia, Petal

Three Beach themed Layouts with the Seaside Cottage Collection by Keren Tamir

Hi Everyone!!
I was thrilled to receive the new Seaside Cottage collection.
I love the beach and being near the ocean. It's my ideal vacation and I go there any chance I get.
I don't live near the ocean, but whenever I go, I love taking photos on the beach and near the water.
I also love collecting shells and then using them on my projects.
I've created three beach themed layouts below.

Here is the first one:

"Calm"

I used the Embark paper  from the Seaside Cottage collection for the background. I stencilled it with a fish scale looking pattern and sprayed it with blue ink.

The Seaside Frame and Flourish were embossed with Blue Fern Studios Oatmeal embossing powder. Then I gave it some blue touch-ups. The calm title was painted in blue and then covered in clear glittery stickles.

Finally, I added Blue Fern Studios flowers and some seashells I collected during one of my trips.

"By The Sea"

Here is my second layout for this month using the Voyage paper from the Seaside Cottage collection.

I actually cut the background paper in half and  connected the two edges in the middle so the sail boat would be in the center. Then I used some paste and stencils to create some wave like pattern to cover the seam.

I used the large Blue Fern Flourish chipboard to give the photo some wave-like movement. I embossed the flourish with Sea Mist embossing powder.
As a title I used part of the calling cards paper and then added some Seaside Lilies, roses and other Blue Fern Studios blooms. I also added shells of course.

"The end of a perfect day"

This is my third layout this month using the Regalia paper from the Seaside Cottage Collection.

I loved creating texture behind my photo by using cheese cloth  like the second layout above. I also used Blue Fern Studios blooms and shells like in my other layouts

To mat the photo I used a couple of pieces from the calling cards paper. I also used the "Seaside Charms" and "The end of a perfect day" title to embellish the layout. I embossed them with the Sea Mist embossing powder.

Thank you so much for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog!!

Have a wonderful day!!

Keren
