April Inspirations with Jelissa

Hello friends!

How quickly time passes and we're into the month of April! Today I'm up on the Blue Fern blog with two creations made from the Serendipity and Courtship Lane collection.

My first share is this layout using Courtship Lane papers. I chose pink (yes!) because it matches the boys' T-shirt in the photo and also, every time I see them, my heart is just filled with love for them. Keeping my background work simple so that the papers can shine.

Some close-ups:

My title chipboard - I made a paste from iridescent medium and mixed it with some pink metallic paint. I was able to get some body and texture out of the mix and make my title more interesting.

The Sweetheart frame which I painted with metallic pink frame and some shimmery pink watercolors.

New flowers from Blue Fern Studios! {Heart} these!

My all time favourite Layering Stems - which I had layered 3 Imagine Ink embossing powders - Clover, Verdant and Grassy Knoll.

Blue Fern Studios products used:

paper: Courtship Lane collection - Town Gossip, Concert Hall, Bourbon Ave, Calling Cards
chipboard: Layering Stems, Sweetheart Frame, Hugs & Kisses
Embossing Powder: Clover, Verdant, Grassy Knoll
Flowers: Courtship Blooms and Courtship Roses

My next layout is created with the Serendipity collection and I love just how much creative space these papers give me. What got my attention was how the colors blended into each other and I wanted to create that in the chipboards as well. With so many lovely quotes in Calling Cards, I ended up using one of them as a title for my eldest boy who has a vivid imagination.

Details in the close-ups:

Cutting up the quote and scattering them all over the page, using them to create a sense of motion.

Snipping up Chelsea Vine chipboard and tucking it in everywhere. I've also used Blue Fern Studios flowers in my cluster. You can also see how I have layered the embossing powders in my background.

My Bird in Flight treated the most fun way - with tissue paper.

More Blue Fern blooms.

Lots of goodies in the background.

The gorgeous duo-tone blue-gold on Swirly Circle chipboard.

And here is the start-to-finish video:

Blue Fern Studios products used:

paper: Serendipity collection - Chronicle, Calling Cards, Fascination, Imagination, Contemplation
chipboard: Chelsea Vine, Swirly Circle, Birds in Flight
embossing powder: Breeze, Sky Blue, Seven Seas, Oatmeal, Snow, Clover, Verdant, Grassy Knoll, Sage
flowers: Courtship Roses

That's all I have for today. Thank you for dropping by!

Our amazing Creative Team went crazy with the sketch this month, so we have LOTS of awesome inspiration for you, as each designer put their own spin on the sketch.

Now it is your turn!   We would love for you to use the April Sketch as inspiration for your project.   We will have a prize for one lucky winner (from a random draw), and will feature a few projects from YOU at the end of the month!

We ask that you follow these guidelines:

1.) Feel free to interpret the sketch as you please by means of taking it as-is or
flipping/turning/mirroring it to suit your needs, but please make sure your layout resembles the sketch.

2). Please note that you can do whatever type of project you please - a layout, card,
canvas, altered item- whatever suits your mood and style!
We would love to see the different ways our sketch can be used.

3.) You must use at least one piece of Blue Fern Studios chipboard OR use Blue Fern Studios paper on your project. Please note that you do not need to use the pieces featured in the sketch
- use whatever suits your fancy! You can find the store nearest you HERE.
 {Do not use any other brand of chipboard on your project, please!}

March Inspiration by Elena Volchkova

Hi everyone! Today my three works will remind you of spring and romance. I wish you the most beautiful spring!

Tropical paradise layout

The first page about my vacation. About the place wh is so beautiful! About happy and joy :)

I used the Ombre Dreams paper as my background. Such light and airy! Chipboard Floral Lattice Bits continued the theme. Colored to turquoise wiht Sea Mist embossing powder and glitters - Blue Ice and Dijon colors.

In this layout, I used a lot of flower. They continued flower in the photo and create the same tropical paradise. Lovely Courtship Blooms and Courtship Roses embellish corne with chipboard Sunshine (The Optimist Word Set). It was covered with mixture of Imagine Ink embossing powders in Honey and Copper.

Stamp Forever with Copper Imagine Ink embossing powder helps to make an interesting background.

On the layout a lot of glitter. I used these three shades - Dusty Rose, Blue Ice, Dijon.
Now all sparkles and shimmers :)

Do you have pictures of travel? Exactly! You can easily repeat the mood of my layout
using products Blue Fern Studio:

Walking in the gardens layout

My second project of March you can already see. This layout I have made for the Blue Fern March sketch. It's about romance of a country house, a walk in the garden with Courtship Lane collections.

I used the Vintage Edges and Arcadia Textures stamps with Imagine Ink Iris embossing powder to create some details on my background.

Little Rabbit (All Natural Set chipboard) a wonderfully complements the mood of a summer day.

Here I used the Imagine Ink Celestial embossing powder to color the chipboard word "Fascination" (Serendipity Words 2). And to add some Imagine Ink Iris embossing powder to accent.

I cut a few pieces of paper to layer under my photo, I distressed all the edges. I also added Whimsy Flourishes Chipboard,  lace, cotton rope, paillettes, flowers and berries.

Blue Fern Studio Supply List:
