Blues & Greens with Frolic Collection- By Keren Tamir

Hi Everyone!
Its Keren here on the Blue Fern Studios blog with a couple of layouts using the Frolic Collection.

One of my favourite colours to use on my layouts are blues and greens. These include teal, turquoise, emerald or olive. Well basically all shades of blue and green.

"Perfect Day"
Here is my first layout using the Frolic- Veranda paper for the background.

I used this blueish green paper because I wanted to create a beach themed layout.
I used the Birds on a wire chipboard and joined it with a set of fussy cut birds from the Frolic Calling cards paper.

Finally I used some anchors and chains from the Anchors Away  chipboard set.

"You are my Fairytale"
My second layout uses the Frolic- Dans le Jardin paper for the background.
I cut the paper in half and joined it again with the imagery in the middle so when I added my embellishments and photo, they were part of the design.

I used the Timeless floral corner to frame around my photo and then I embellished with two La Plume feather chipboard pieces which I cut in half.

Finally I used the "Fairytale" chipboard title.

Thank you so much for visiting the Blue Fern Studios blog
have a wonderful day!!

Three Layouts Featuring Autumn Anthology and Frolic

Hi everyone!  Debbie here with you today sharing 3 layouts I created.  My first two layouts feature the
new paper collection Autumn Anthology!  Absolutely love this new collection!  The colors and details
in the paper are beautiful!

I thought the new Autumn Anthology collection worked well with some old treasured family photos.
I love this old photo of my grandparents, my mom and her siblings.  I used Newsworthy, Mercantile, Gazebo and Calling Cards papers.  Lots of layering behind my photo and some fussy cutting.

I used one of the new Blue Fern Studios Imagine Ink Mica Color Mists, Sky on my chipboard title and then stamped it with the new Essential Textures stamps.

Tucked beneath layers of papers I used the Roman Clock chipboard.

Here I've used the new French Ironwork chipboard piece which I left untreated and use the new Persimmon mist.  Leaving the chipboard raw brought out a darker color in the mist.

I also used the new Leaf mist on a mini flourish chipboard piece.

On my next layout I used Calling Cards and Cottage papers from the Autumn Anthology paper collection. Here I've used another treasured family photo of my mom and her brother.
I did some masking on the background and misted with the Persimmon mist.
Here you can see when sprayed on a light background the color is much brighter.

The new chipboard piece, An Autumn Story was covered with acrylic glaze and given a light misting with the Persimmon mist.  I used a Garden Daisy chipboard which I misted with the Sky mist and cut apart to use in two different places on my layout.

The Garden Lattice Bits Chipboard was covered with an acrylic glaze.  Tucked into my flower cluster is the other piece of the Garden Daisy chipboard.

I used a piece of the Symphony border chipboard here in my flower cluster.

My final layout was created using the Frolic collection and was based off of the September sketch.
I used several papers on this layout, Amoroso, Friendship, Mercantile, Dan Le Jardin, Allegro, Secretary Calling Cards ,and Petits Moments, mostly for layering behind my photo

I took the Tea Medley chipboard piece and cut it in half, using it on both sides of my picture.  I primed it with gesso and embossed it with pink embossing powder.

Tucked within my flower clusters of piece of the Floral Medley Frame with I randomly sprinkled with pink embossing powder.

At the top of my layout I used the Jasmine Floral Pendant which I embossed with light pink embossing powder.

I hope you have enjoyed my layouts.  Don't forget that you still have time to enter our September Sketch Challenge.  You can find all of the details here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Three projects with Autumn Anthology by Marie-Josée

Hello, Blue Fern Studios fans!

Fall is just around the corner, and Blue Fern Studios has just released its newest collection, Autumn Anthology, which is full of lovely, rich colors. Here are the three projects I created with this stunning collection, which I LOVE!

"Amour" layout

For this layout, I used the Balcony paper as my background. Since it's a busy paper, I decided to go with a black and white photo.

I added pieces of paper under my photo. Both come from the Mercantile paper; I used both sides of it.

The title is from the French Words set. I altered it with black Archival ink.

On both sides of my photo, I used the two pieces of the Ironwork Edges chipboard set. I altered them with a touch of white gesso.

I also used a stamp from the Essential textures set, with black Archival ink.

Altered tin box

Here's an altered tin box I created with the rest of the Mercantile paper sheet.

I also add a piece of chipboard to the front of the tin box, from the Classic ornaments set.

And here are two closeup views so that you can see the beautiful pattern of the Mercantile paper.

Cards

Here are the two cards I created on kraft cardstock.

For the first one, I used the Penmanship paper and a piece of chipboard from the
Classic Ornaments set. I also used a small piece of the Mercantile paper.

For the second one, I used the Penmanship paper and two pieces of chipboard from the
Classic Corners set.

Thank you, and have a great week!

Frolic inspiration from Elena Morgun

Hello friends!

The weekend is around the corner. And I would like to inspire you with some new projects. Today I have prepared a layout with a video tutorial and ATC set.

This layout I created for a friend as a present. Her son's photo was my main inspiration. I decided to create layers with the help of chipboards. I painted them with Silks this time. I love the color transitions I got here. The layout turned out very shiny.

I enjoy creating ATCs and swapping them. They are quite fast to make, but that doesn't make them less beautiful. Here is my recipe for today: stamp the background, add some elements such as papers, chipboards, butterflies and finish with adding some watercolors. Enjoy your creations!
