We are offcially open for business!!

Yes - today is the day that we are officially open for business!  I am excited and scared all at the same time, but feel confident this business will grow and succeed while offering some beautiful products for the crafting industry!

So a little bit about me - my name is Leslie Kammerdiener and I am the owner of Blue Fern Studios.  I am a single mother of two grown children and have a most adorable grandson, lol.  I have been part of this industry for about 10 years; first starting up a kit club many years ago called ScrapMuse (sold multiple times until it closed down) and I am currently also the owner of C'est Magnifique Kit Club.

Since the scrappy bug bit me all those years ago, I have wanted to own a manufacturing company, but the timing was never right.  It took me meeting Michele to realize that the time is finally here and after months of hard work - we are open for business!

Since we are a manufacturer, we do only sell to stores at this time.  Please tell your favorite scrapbook store about us as 'word of mouth' is the best form of advertisement.  In the meantime, you can start purchasing from my retail store - C'est Magnifique.  Please keep checking the 'Retailers List' on the site though for your favorite store.  It will be created as we add companies to the list that carry our products.

Here are two layouts that I designed this week using some Blue Fern chippies!  Each of these layout features one of my children - the first is of my son, Kevin, and the second is my daughter, Brianna.

 In this layout I used the Blue Fern Frame that I distressed intermittently with a copper dabber and some black dylusions spray.

 

On this layout, I used the Royal Bird Frame.  I simply just sprayed it with the Black Marble Dylusions.  I wanted that 'pop' of color.

So over the next month, you will be seeing blog posts from each of our design team members.  In their posts, you will meet them, learn more about them and see some of the beautiful projects they have designed using our chippies.  Be prepared for an inspiring journey each month at Blue Fern Studios!

I am so excited to introduce you to the creative talent behind Blue Fern Studios!  My partner in crime is Michele Singh and you can find her blog (and giveaway!!!!) here:

Here is a little more about Michele:

 

Michele Singh is a Graphic Designer with a background in print, product, magazine and brand design for various companies. She has over 25 years of design experience. As both a digital and traditional scrapper, Michele has an in-depth understanding of the tools of the trade. By applying her design sense to the memory keeping industry, she marries two loves; scrapbooking and graphic design. She creates from the heart and has a keen eye for all things beautiful and whimsical.

Coming from a long line of crafty ladies, Michele has always loved art and design. At twelve years old she was given the opportunity to design literary publications and other printed pieces. Once bitten by the design bug, she never stopped designing, creating, and crafting.

Today Michele comes to Blue Fern Studios with a skill set that enables her to create just about anything she can imagine. So far, she has designed packaging, web graphics, chipboard and paper for Blue Fern. Michele has various styles, but her favorite is exemplified in her designs for Blue Fern. She has created a look for Blue Fern Studios that is gorgeously shabby and artsy, with a pinch of whimsy. She is a color lover and creates color combinations that give new meaning to the words “eye candy.” 

Michele also serves on the Design Team for C.S.I. (csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com) where she creates a weekly printable product called "C.S.I. Coordinates." Michele resides in Glendale, California with her nine-year-old daughter

Announcing...

Today's the day!!  We are so pleased to announce our very first design team!!

This was probably the hardest scrap-related thing we have ever had to do.  The submissions were unbelievable and we had such a hard time deciding.  What an incredible journey we had from blog to blog and I beg each of you that didn't make it this time to try out again next time as we can only have a small number of designers and we could have easily added another 50 of you to the team!

It's time for a small little giveaway!

Right now we are working on some page/card titles!  We need your input though and what would be better than gifting some chippies to some randomly drawn winners?!!

Our First Giveaway!!

The packaging is in, chipboard is being cut, we have lots of DT call submissions to wade through and we are still creating even more designs!  Things are rolling on this end, but we need to get the word out there about Blue Fern Studios!  It's time to give some gorgeous new chipboard to a creative home!  Take a look at the fabulous prize package!!!
