Vintage Girl

If I were to use one word to describe myself it would be VINTAGE! I am drawn to everything old, unique, and charming so I am particularly drawn to the Attic Charm Collection. The soft colors, images, and floral touches all speak my language.

For the background I used the Generation paper, I love the wallpaper effect and the beautiful vintage clock.

To frame my photo I used a "fussy cut" chair from the Mercantile page of Attic Charm Collection.
I painted the lamp post (from the Lamp Post Chipboard pack) with teal, white, and copper acrylic paint then glued a paper circle to the back and filled it with Mod Podge Resin and yellow ink.

I cut small scraps of lace (Blue Fern Lace) and attached some Remnants Blooms. I added some Blue Fern Pearl Buttons with a stitch of yellow thread for a pop of color.

I used the green Ribbon from Easter Parade Collection and turned the title strip of an Attic Charm sheet into two little flags and inked the edges. The peach bloom came from the Floral Basic Package and I added some extra vintage glam by stamping the page with the London Chronicle Stamp in red ink.

The title for my page is "I Love Vintage" and I used the sheet "Crafty" from the Homespun Collection as the alphabet.

Thanks for the peek!
Blessings, Bonnie

Double gatefold card with Attic Charm

Hello, welcome at the Blue Fern Studios blog.
Today I'm sharing a double gate fold card with you. I used the beautiful
Attic Charm paper collection, a large chipboard, laces and flowers.

First I made the base of the gatefold card using white cardstock.
(You can find a video tutorial by Kathy Clement on how to make one here)
I decorated the card with the Attic Charms papers.
Some of the paper panels have sewing on it.

On the front of the card I used a large chipboard frame  which I colored in
similar colors as the papers.
The chipboard is called Glam Frame.
I glued lace and flowers on the frame.

Here's a picture of the inside of the card.
I made a pocket in the middle section.
Inside the pocket are two panels. You can write a birthday message on
the larger one for example

Aren't these papers just gorgeous? I love the Attic Charm collection.

Products used:

Paper: Attic Charm
Chipboard: Glam Frame
Laces: no. 1 and 4
BFS flowers

Thanks for visiting!
Hugs, Henriëtte.

Homespun Family Recipe Box

Hello Blue Fern Studios Crafters, it's Aida from  @aidaville . Do you have favorite family recipes that everyone loves ? Keeping recipes and the stories about them is a wonderful way to remember and continue your family history. I've made a Recipe Box with decorated separators to help you organise the different recipes. The Homespun Collection is just perfect in soft shades of pinks, yellows and greens.

These are the Blue Fern Studios products I used :
Homespun Paper Collection and Printed Chipboard.
Others : Heavy weight white cardstock  |  Pale Green Glitter Cardstock | Buttons

The front of the box measures 6 inches (top and bottom) and 71/2 inches at the sides. This gave enough room to use the lovely chipboard shapes from the Printed Chipboard sheet. The word "Recipe" is die-cut from glitter cardstock.

Below are the closer photos of the Box.

The recipe separators are easily made from heavy cardstock and decorated with patterned papers and die-cut words. Each piece measures 4 1/2 inches at the top and 8 inches tall.

The tabs are circle punch outs with leftover papers.

Keeping family history alive is so important and using food to tell our stories is a great way to connect. I hope this post will start your own creative ideas on how to stow your favourite recipes.

Thank you for coming by today, have a good week ahead !

Mothers Day Altered Centerpiece

Hi, my name is Bonnie and I am so excited to be a guest designer for Blue Fern! I'm happy to share my first project on Mother's Day! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.
i love making altered items. I was inspired by the Attic Charm paper collection when I decided to create a gift for my mom using a vintage watering can I found in a
house we were renovating.

I used the Attic Finds paper to cover the main part of the watering can leaving enough of the metal showing to keep that vintage quality to my project. I used the Lace #5 as an accent
to trim the top of the can.

i made the flower petals out of the script Mayfair paper from the Remnants collection, I painted one side of the petals white for contrast. I used a chipboard piece from the Wanderlust collection, pasting the petals around the edge of the oval and attaching a favorite photo of my mom with my sister and me for a personal touch. I wanted to make sure both sides of the flower were decorated since it will be displayed as a centerpiece.

I used the doily shape from the ephemera pack to create a flower accent. The stems are the Rose Leaves chipboard and the mini flower is cut from Lace #4. I attached the calling card with yarn and tiny cloths pin. The pearl button is from my stash to finished off my lace flower.

i finished off my project with a sweet sentiment that lets my mom know
how much she means to me.
Thank you for visiting the blog today and taking a peek at my first post!
