Two Layouts and a Card with Rae

Hello! It's Rae with you today and I'm sharing some projects I made with the Montage and Ombre Dreams paper lines.

"Twinkle" Layout

For this layout I used the Montage paper collection.  It's based on our November sketch. Check out the sketch challenge HERE. There's still time to play along!

Here's a closeup of the Quatrefoil Panel piece that I cut to size. I used pink, white, and gold embossing powders to get this effect.

Here's a closeup of the title that I used from the Winter Titles set. I kept this treatment simple by using gold embossing powder.

In this close up, you can see the piece of the Heart Border that I cut and painted with a whitewash.

I also cut up the Organic Vine Corner. I painted it with a dimensional green paint, and sprinkled it with green embossing powders and heated it up until the paint was bubbly.

"Follow Your Dreams..." Card

I really wanted to fit this card in a standard envelope, so I made it as flat as I could! I used some of my scraps from the Montage line.

Here's a closeup that shows the treatment of the Mixed Chains and part of a Ginger's Poppies piece. I used grey and black ink pads directly on the chipboard without priming it.

Mommy's Boy

I used papers from the Ombre Dreams and the Montage lines.

In this closeup, you can see the Corner Flourish. I also used a Mini Flourish on the other side of my flower cluster. I scraped these pieces with a black archival ink pad that desperately needs to be reinked, but it worked for this layout. :)

For the Mommy's Boy title piece, I used a turquoise embossing powder, then used that same archival ink pad to give it a worn look.

For the Romantic Page Dangle, I used grey chalk ink, then some black distressed embossing powder in random places. I also touched it with some blue chalk ink to soften the look of it.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my projects today! Check back often- our team is always posting amazing creations!

3 Beach Layouts with 3 different collections- by Keren Tamir

Keren here, and today I have 3 beach layouts created with three different Blue Fern Studios Collections.
I recently came back from a family beach vacation. I wanted to show how versatile all the Blue Fern studios collections are and how easily they can be used for the same theme.

"Beautiful Girl"

With the Ombré Dreams Collection

For the background paper I used Ombré Dreams Charlotte's Dream and I also used the Ombré Dreams- Dream Cards as layers.

I used the corner flourishes chipboard which I cut into pieces. I painted it in pastel blue acrylic paint and stamped and inked it.

"Hello Summer"

With the Blue Fern Garden Collection

I used the "Signature" paper from the Blue Fern Garden collection for the background.

For chipboard, I used the Jewelled page dangles,  Jewelled frame and the Hello Summer title. They were all painted in with two different colours of acrylic paint.

"A Joyful heart"

with the Montage Collection

I used the Fairyland paper from the Montage Collection.

I framed the photo with the chipboard Collage Frame which I covered with embossing powder. I also used the wave shaped chipboard from the "By the sea" set.

I hope my layouts inspired you to scrap your holiday beach pictures or any old summer pics!!

Have a wonderful day!

Watching YOU Put our Designs to Work

We love seeing how all of you use our products and choose one day each month to feature some of your layouts.  Get ready to be amazed and inspired.

This entry is the first one Joyce created for her altered book project.  She has used several pieces of Blue Fern chipboard in a very elegant way.  Did you notice how she has dressed it up pearls?  Joyce is one of our prior Creative Team members.

Keeping with the vintage look, Angelica has added our Seasonal Wildflowers (one of my all-time favorite pieces of chipboard), to this stunning layout.

We spotted this beauty on Irina's blog.  She has used a Blue Fern title on this layout featuring a photo of her sister.

Look at how Ulrika used paper from the Montage Collection with these photos of her sweet little guy riding his bicycle ---really fast!

Tracey created this very romantic layout using paper from our Montage Collection.

We found this layout created by Ayumi of Japan, titled "This is Paradise".  The beautiful background paper is from our Ombre Dreams Collection.   She also added a couple of pieces of Blue Fern chipboard.

Maggi used our beautiful Jeweled Frame, which she altered using blue embossing enamel, to focus all the attention on her photograph.

It doesn't always take a lot of chipboard to make an impression as Anna demonstrates in this layout where she has painted the Blue Fern chipboard white and used it as an accent behind her photo.

Riikka chose to use this beautiful pink paper from our Montage Collection, along with this photo of her with her parents when she was very small.

Also using paper from our Montage Collection, Yvonne, a former member of our Creative Team, designed this beautiful "Fly Away" canvas.  So very pretty and elegant.

We hope you enjoyed seeing how YOU use our products.
You keep posting your projects online, and we'll keep looking for them!

Three layouts by Marie-Josée

Hello folks,

I hope you are doing fine today! November is here now, and it will be Christmas soon! Before we get to the holidays and all the Christmas crafts, here are a few non-seasonal layouts!

"Happiness" layout

I used the Joyce's Dream paper from the Ombre Dreams collection to create my background. I glued the chipboard to my paper and added gesso with a sponge, as well as color with Gelatos and spray inks.

Here's a close-up view of the Circle Code chipboard, altered with gesso and Gelatos...

... and the Happiness sentiment for the Good Vibes word set, altered with black spray ink.

"Cute Stuff" layout

To create this layout, I used a picture I found on Pinterest. I just loooooooooooooove owls and birds of prey! :)

I used the Shannon's Dream paper from the Ombre Dreams collection to create my background.

I cut a piece of the Damask Panel and glued it to my background. Then, I applied gesso with a sponge on top of my chipboard. I added color with Gelatos

And here's the Cute Stuff sentiment for the Good Vibes word set. I did not alter it in any way.

Sketch layout

Finally, I just want to show you my sketch layout, once again.

I did the same thing I did for the two layouts shown above, that is, using Gelatos and spray inks to add colors.

I used the Ginger's Dream paper from the Ombre Dreams collection to create my background.

I also cut two pieces of the Turkish Panel and glued them to my background.

Here's my title, created with the Loving You chipboard...

... and a few close-up views...
