May Inspiration by Debbie Burns

Hi everyone!  Debbie here with today to share my May projects.  I have three layouts using various Blue Fern Studios papers and products.

"Delightful"
I used three paper collections when creating this layout, Happy Accident, Garden Life and Heartland.  The background paper Fortuity is from Happy Accident.  I did some light masking and misting on the background.  I built up layers under the photo using additional papers from Happy Accident, Fluke, Lucky, Quirk and Windfall.  I did a lot of fussy cutting from In Bloom and Wallflower from Garden Life, and Bicycle for two and Love Song Serenade from Heartland.

Lots of beautiful flowers including Chesterville Florals, Apricot Blooms, Attic Charm Daisies and Moody Blooms.  I embossed the chipboard piece under the photo with my favorite Blue Fern Embossing Powder, Ivory and used a mixture of Sage, Green Ivory and Ivory on the leaves.

More layering under the photo with flowers cut from Garden Life and Heartland papers.

The chipboard title was covered with some pink spray and ink.  To the left of the title you can see more flowers that I fussy cut.

My next two layouts feature papers from the Wanderlust collection.

"Capture The Moment"
I used the Ocean Voyage paper for my background.   I used Calling Cards and Souvenir to build up layers under the photo of my mom and her family out on the lake.  I stamped with Tattered Newsprint, Grungy Grid and Forever stamps.  I applied some light brown misting.

In this picture as well as the one below you can see the Wanderlust Lilies.  I applied some Twig and Gold Nugget Seedlings to the lilies as well as the background.

The chipboard pieces on each side of the photo were embossed with Taupe powder.

The title was also embossed with Taupe Embossing Powder.

"Destination Unknown"
I used side B from the Memento paper for the background.  I applied some misting and stamping with the Tattered Newsprint stamp.   Next I used stencils and applied some soft mat gel and embossed with Taupe and Azure embossing powders.  I built up layers under the photo using Wanderlust Petites, Souvenir and Calling Cards.  This lovely lady was my grandmother.

I altered the Wanderlust Lilies with some white gold paste and a light misting.   I misted  the Heartland Blossom with a touch of gold.

I applied some Gold Nugget and Twig Seedlings to the flowers and background.

Under the photo I used a piece from the Wanderlust Printed Chipboard.

The title came from the Calling Cards paper.

Three new layouts by Jessica

"Special"

My first layout I created for the Blue Fern Studios design team for April is titled "Special".  For this layout, I chose to use papers from the Heartland Collection.  The background paper is Love Blooms and I used the Love Notes paper to build the matting under the picture.

I applied clear gesso to the background paper then did some stenciling with modeling paste.  To add more white with the modeling paste, I used diluted gesso on a plastic bag and "smooshed" it up and down my page.  My next step for the background work was to use a different stencil with modeling paste in areas around the page.  While it was still wet, I applied Dark Chocolate embossing powder over the modeling paste then dried it with a heat gun.  I love embossing with texture paste - for the next step, I added blue mist with a paint brush to the areas around the embossed stenciling.

At this point, I put my picture and embellishments in place then splattered diluted gesso up and down my page to create a soft and relaxing feel to it.

The Blue Fern Flourish chipboard was first embossed with Dark Chocolate embossing powder, then I added some Solar Flare glitter randomly in spots with matte gel medium.  Both lilies are from the Wanderlust Lillies set.  The lily to the left of the picture has Blue Ice Glitter applied with matte gel.  The lily to the right has Black Ice glitter applied to the tips with matte gel also.

Here's my list of Blue Fern Studios products for this layout:

"The Good Life"

My next creation features the Amber & Apricot collection.  My background paper is Sunny Disposition, and I love that I was able to  play with a lot of colors on this layout.

The Blue Fern Studios Seedlings with matte gel helped to accomplish the colorful and fun background.  I used Gold Nugget, Harvest, Pink Topaz, and Vivid Pink Seedlings.  The photo is mounted on the Amber & Apricot Birdsong paper pieces and some of the collection's Printed Chipboard.

I used flowers from two different sets: Dark Tropic Lilies and Wanderlust Lilies.  The white lace that is dangling to the left of the titled is Lace #10 from Blue Fern Studios - I love how it can twist and add dimension!  Here are a couple of closeups:

"XOXO"

My final layout features the In the Mood collection background paper with Memoires Calling Cards paper as matting for the photo.

I used the Tattered Newsprint stamp with Pure Red embossing powder randomly on the background.  To add interest and softness, I used Lace #10 to the top of the picture and Lace #12 on the side.

The flowers coral roses on the page are from the Happy Roses set and the other flowers are from the Harvest Lilies set.

The chipboard on the page is the XOXO chipboard title and hearts on the side of the picture and I also used one of the keys from the Vintage Keys set.  All of the chipboard was embossed with Baby Pink and a sprinkle of Coral embossing powder.

March Inspiration - Megan

Hi there Blue Fern Fans :)

Today I have two layouts for you using Amber & Apricot, and two cards, one using wanderlust and one using Remnants, so lets get to it :)

For this layout, I fussy cut along both edges and popped a large chipboard sheet behind it, before adhering it on top of my second piece of patterned paper.  I could then add my chipboard popping out from along the sides.  Theres also some fussy cutting, utilising the fabulous floral graphics to add more depth to my cluster.

The details: sprinklings of seedlings and splatters of rust colours.

Chipboard has been embossed with Mushroom Embossing Powder - I find myself reaching for this one a lot, its a fab colour!

This photo shows you all the dimension of this layout, lots and lots of layers, makes everything pop!

My second layout today again uses the lovely Amber & Apricot collection.

My background this time is a mixture of stamping, paint splattering and fussy cutting -  this collection was perfect for it! ;)

Again there is a lot of dimension to this layout.  The heart has been painted,  while its till wet covered in red glitter, and then inked the edges with black archival ink.

I love how the seedlings give that extra bit of interest and pop to a project!

My final project for you today is two cards with two different collections.

The first card uses the Remnants Collection.  The Callaway piece of patterned paper is perfect for cards - out of the four different 6x6 patterns, I selected the two I wanted and attached them to my cardstock base.

I used two different colours of seedlings to coordinate with the green/purple colour scheme I had chosen.

The chipboard this time I left bare because I felt there was enough colour without introducing a new one.  The printed chipboard pieces created further interest popping out from my cluster and curled paper edges.

The last project for you today is a card using the Wanderlust collection.  The card was for a colleague who was leaving; young and full of energy I thought this quote was here to a T! :)

Simple but effective there was really nothing to this but I love how it turned out.  Layers of paper with layers of chipboard, some twine and a bit of paint splattering.

You can see here the amount of layering involved.
Thanks for popping by!  I'll see you next month :)

Romantic and colorful by Tartine Peluche

Hello everybody!
I'm back to share with you some new inspirations.
This month, two layouts of  '' In The Mood '' and one of  ''Chesterville'' ...

========================
My first one is :

*Lifetime Dream*
( In The Mood, Pensive )

For those who know me, know that I like to create or modified flowers.
I have almost the same tools as the florist...
For this layout I had fun with the Moody Florals.
The first on the top is simply heated with heat gun, as is, then I added a bling as a center.
The others are only one layer of petal folded on itself.

The butterflies are embossed with Pixie Dust. The cercle ring embossed with Ivory, then I added a bit of pink pearl ink to contrast. The first layer of  chipboard flowers is embossed with a mixt of Baby Pik and Pixie Dust, and the other one embossed in snow and over heated with heat gun and ink too.

On my heart Gold Nugget seedlings.
n the center of Attic Charm Daisies flower, mix of two shades of pink: Tickled, Pink Glass and Gold Nugget too. Under the flower a piece of  Lace 12, ripped.

'' Dreamy '' is the title of one paper of the In the Mood Collection, I cut the word
on the paper and I scratched it.
'' Simply because ... '' comes from the printed chipboard sheet. I used another piece at the top of my page,  ''In The Mood ''

Butterflies in Pink Dust embossing powder and my Title ...
I did a test, not very conclusive, still pretty but not perfect ... I mixed two embossing powders, added to my chipboard with versamark and I heat it ...

My next one:

*Beautiful*
( In The Mood, Peaceful )

This paper it's really my favorite of the collection In The Mood,
I wanted to work it very romantic and especially in soft color.
So I choose to bring out the peach of the paper.
For that, I used some die cut embossed with the embossing powder Copper. This color perfectly match with peach shades of the paper.
I could have used the flowers from the Chesterville Blooms collection, they were perfect but did not match the sweet ambiance I wanted to give. So I used the Late Winter Lilies in white.
I put Glass seedlings in my flowers, much like a flowing river
they follow a path to the bottom of my layout.

The Life round chipboard come from Garden Life Printed Chipboard, under this one another round chipboard Remnants Chipboard Printed.

With this last one picture, we can see all the shine of the embossing powder Copper and some pieces of Lace 12, that I ripped and placed under my flowers.

I used lot of seedlings on this layout. I mixed two shades of green. Fir Tree and Green Leaf.
