A card and something altered from Maja

Hi all Blue Fern Lovers. I´m here today to share some small projects I made using  papers from the "Blue Fern Garden" line  and of course some of BFS lovely chipboard. First up is a card.

Blue Fern Products used:
Papers: Love Letters, Timeless and Calling Cards.
Chipboard: Grande Cages

My next projects turned out to be some kind of a frame. I have used a small wooden "box" or what you should call it. I ordered some resin embellisment and got them in this box. I started with painting the box with white paint and then used some of BFS papers, BFS chipboards and flowers to decorate it.

The beaded sting that I have used around my photo here is painted with crackle texture paste.

I have chalked the chipboard pieces. On the word "Love" I also used some Glossy Accent.

Blue Fern Products used:
Papers: Parlour
Chipboard: Petite Boutique Frames, Little Bird Set, 2Hearts Set, Beaded Srtings and Veranda Cage Set.

Layouts by Camilla

Hi there! Camilla here with two new layouts. I have been playing with some more papers and chipboards from Blue Fern Studios.

First a layout in blue. I have been adding some more blue by using some misting and masking. The chipboards (Small Circle Flourish and Spring Frame) are painted in white gesso and then I stamped with a texture stamp.

Then a layout about a vacation we had in a beautiful town in Sweden. I have used the Blue Fern Garden collection together with these chipboard pieces: Garden Gate, Veranda Cage Set, Eastern Lanterns. The chipboards are painted in white. I stamped with a text stamp. Then I added some Inka Gold here and there.

I hope you enjoyed my layouts!

So Much Gratitude and Thanks- by Keren Tamir

Hello Blue Fern Studio Friends
This post is very meaningful to me as its all about Gratitude and Thanks.
There are so many things I'm thankful for that If I list them here I won't have enough space to display my creations this month.

All three of my projects this month were created as a gift for three different people whom I love very much and are very special to me.
I'm Thankful and Grateful that I have them in my life!!!

The first project is a layout created for the parents of this precious baby who has been such a miracle of life.

"Sweet Dreams"

When I asked the parents to give me the color scheme of this baby's nursery they described these colours above which are exactly the colours of some of the papers from the Blue Fern Garden collection. I was then so happy to fussy cut, frames, bows and other images from those papers.

I framed the photo in one of the Ever After frames. I simply primed it with Gesso and then painted it using Shimmerz sky blue paint.

I  treated the Frilly Heart behind the photo with the same gesso and paint to match the Blue Fern Garden Papers.

Finally the title was inked in blue fluid chalk ink.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The next two projects are very near and dear to my heart. I created them for two very special people in my life. Both these people asked me to create Gratitude Journals for them and I thought it would be great to include some Blue Fern Studio Chipboard on the front cover.

"The Book of Gratitude"

I bought 2 hard cover journals at the dollar store. Then, using some of the Blue Fern Garden papers I covered both front and back. To blend the paper seam to the cover's background I used light moulding paste and a brick stencil.

I used the tree from the Descanso Garden Set, a little bird and one of the Veranda cages. I have a tutorial below describing how I created the tree. The bird was painted in silks glaze paint and the bird cage in brown fluid chalk ink.

Here is the tutorial on how I created the texture on this tree:

"The Book of Gratitude"

This is the second book of gratitude I created. Its a little different than the other one but still unique on its own.

I used a different set of Blue Fern Garden papers to cover this journal. Then, I also covered the seams with some stencilled moulding paste. This time I used a different stencil to mimic the pattern on the Blue Fern Garden paper.

I used two different shades of Silks glaze paint to cover all the different flowers on the cover as well as the mini butterfly.
The Lattice fence was roughly covered with gesso leaving parts unpainted.

I try to find things to be thankful and grateful each and every day.
I hope you sit back today and find something to be thankful for.

Thanks so much for visiting the Blue Fern Studios Blog

Have a wonderful day!!!

Spring inspiration from Maja

Hi, Maja here today. I´m here to show you two layouts and a card I  have made using both papers and chipboards from Blue Fern Studios.

For this first one I began with my stencils, Distress Inks and stamps on the background paper. I used the same colors on my Distress Inks that can be found in the background paper. I added some more small pieces of paper and some chipboard, Chikenwire panel, and  of course losts of flowers and a few more chipboard pieces from Natural Springs Set.

Blue Fern Studio products used:
Papers: Love Letters, Calling Cards and Signature
Chipboard: Chickenwire Panel and Natural Springs Set

For my next layout I used some more of the gorgeous BFS papers and pieces of Shabby Brick Bits. The background paper has some brick patterns in it so I made some more bricks with my stencils and Distress Ink.

Blue Fern Studios products used are:
Papers: Picnic, Timeless and Boudoir
Chipboard: Shabby Brick Bits

My daughter just turned 20 so this is the card we gave her. I´m not really a cardmaker but if I know that I have a reciever it´s easier.

Blue Fern Studios products used are:

Chipboards: All Natural Sets, Petite Boutique Frames and Veranda Cage Set

Different Ideas by Keren Tamir

Hi Blue Fern Studio Fans.

I have a fun and diverse post for you today.
This month, I've created three different kinds of projects all very different from each other yet original on their own.
The first one is a layout. I know its just a layout, not so original lol, but continue scrolling down I made two more projects that you might think are more unique.

"Timeless Me"

The picture above is a picture of me when I was a kid. I think I'm probably 4 years old here. I created this layout using the green toned papers from the Blue Fern Garden collection.

I used the inside part of the Helen's Doily. It was a leftover piece from a previous layout. I also used one of the Jeweled Page baubles. Both these pieces were covered in green chalk edger ink and then stamped and edged in brown ink.

The title Me from the Valentine word set was simply coloured in brown ink,

<<<<<<>>>>>>>

"Love & Thanks Journal"

My second project today is a journal that I created for a friend. I only altered the cover and left the inside blank for her to fill in.

The background was altered using crackle paint, ink and stamping. Once dry, I added a few of the Blue Fern Studio chipboard pieces on top.
I used the Shabby Brick bits, Two of the Veranda Cages, one little bird and the "&" sign from the Valentine Word set.

"Bookmarks"

For my third and final project for March I thought of a great idea on how to use some of the new Blue Fern Studio dangles to create bookmarks. I just thought they were the perfect size to fit inside a book and still have the bottom dangle through the pages.

I believe this would be a perfect gift for a friend's birthday or a teacher's end of the year gift.

I created a step by step  tutorial on how I made these bookmarks:

Step 1: Prime both dangles with Gesso on both sides. Let each side dry before applying it on the other side.

Step 2: Cover the chipboard with crackle paint. I only covered the top side. Let it dry overnight.

Step 3: Cover one of the dangles in brown and yellow chalk ink and the other with green and yellow ink. Do this on both sides. (of course you may choose any colours you like)

Step 4: Seal both sides of the chipboard using Glossy Accents, Diamond glaze or equivalent transparent gel. Let one side dry first before applying it on the other side.

Step 5: Punch a hole through the chipboard at the top of a dangle if it doesn't have one. Then insert a tassel and a fancy brad for decoration.

well I hope you enjoyed my fun and diverse post today!!
Enjoy the rest of March!!!!
Have a wonderful day!!
