August Inspirations with Jelissa

Hello friends, how have you been?

July has been very exciting and now that August is here, I'm looking to better times ahead! Today I'm so glad to be sharing with you two creations using the fabulous new collection Seaside Cottages. This set of papers speak right to my heart and to say it was love at first sight is a great understatement. Michele has outdone herself yet again with this gorgeous beach-themed collection filled with soft colours and stunning images.

My first layout is of my eldest having some fun with his feet in the sand. Woodgrain is really my thing and I had to use it for the background. Seeing that the paper is so full of details, I toned down my background work and used to it accent the colors on the page.

Details in the close-ups:

An anchor from part of the Seaside Flourish chippie which I had embossed with Copper EP from Imagine Ink and painted some turquoise acrylic paint over for a tarnished look. The petals were sprinkled with Dusty Pink glitter.

Layer, layer, layer! That's what you do when you have so many pretty papers at hand! Here, I built up lots of dimension with scraps from Calling Cards, Voyage and Splendour.

Using a Calling Card sentiment as my title. The little stars on the flourish chipboard were also given a nice coat of Sunshine glitter.

Blue Fern Studios products used:

papers: Seaside Cottages - Calling Cards, Voyage, Splendour, Gala
chipboard: Seaside Flourish
EPs: Copper
Glitter, Dusty Pink, Sunshine

My second share is a mixed media canvas and I had used so many fun stuff on it! The starfish and shells that you see are actually from a potpourri set and they smell amazing!

This is the Seashell Frame which I had a lot of fun altering with EP and duo-toned acrylic paint.

A little sailboat from Nautical Set. Check out the background - it's one of the patterned papers from Seaside collection and I didn't have to do much to make it look so grungy and vintage all at the same time!

Who doesn't love a dolphin? I have one here with some seaweed chippies. Check out the Seaside Lilies that come as part of the coordinating flowers - they are so perfectly distressed that I didn't have to fiddle with them at all.

Mr Octopus saying hi.

I seem to have a thing for anchors again! This one is embossed and wrapped with a piece of twine.

A title piece from Calling Cards, matched by the Seaside Roses.

And here is the video of how I put everything together. Sit back and enjoy!

July projects by Karolina

Hi everyone! Karolina here with with a dose of inspiration for you! So sit down comfortable and let's start!
To my works I'm using photos of myself very rarely. I don't know why, I just prefere photos of my friends, family - people I love. So today it's a very unusual day! I would like to show you three different projects, two layout and one frame with me, myself & I ;)
In all projects I used a new beautiful collection Seaside Cottage. I wasn't surprised when I saw this collection for the very first time and I completely fell in love with it. Blue and turquoise are my favourite colors and I love everything in marine style.

Beach Babe

Ok, so first I would like to show you a round frame. As you can see, I've cut out the outline of me from the picture and tried to create a beach around me. I have used two stripes of papers, some seashells, flowers and a texture sand paste. I also added some glitter in blue shades and I've prepared some glitter caboshons. It's very easy, you need just put some glue to the bottom of the caboshon and then sprinkle a glitter on it. When it will be dry you can stick it on your projects wherever you want.
Finally I added a title - this time it's a piece from the same collection. I have used outmeal embossing powder to cover it. The last step was to make a braid with a string and metal embellishments and put it around my frame.

Papers: Glory, Embark
Chipboard: Beach Babe
Embossing powder: Oatmeal
Glitter: Gulf Coast, Blue Ice, Pyrite, Burnt Cooper
Flowers: Seaside lilies

End of a perfect day

I'm pretty sure that this is the newest photo of me. My brother's fiancĂ©e took this picture of me in the last weekend, during a dinner. If I have to be honest, we were in the Warsaw and Warsaw is not a seaside city, but woodboards behind me looked very nice and it really was a perfect end of a perfect day ;)

I built my composition using papers, flowers and a chipboard piece in the contrasty color. I have used a melon embossing powder.

Papers: Glory, Embark, Whitewash, Regalia
Chipboard: Perfect Day
Embossing powder: Melon, Honey
Flowers: Seaside lilies

Summer Vocation

The Seaside Cottage is a perfect collection not only for your marine projects,  but also for every holiday memories. In my last layout I used photos from Aventine Hill which I made few weeks ago when I was in Rome.

Papers: Embark, Whitewash, Regalia
Chipboard: Summer Vocation
Embossing powder: Ebony
Flowers: Seaside lilies

And that's all in this month! See you soon in August!

July inspiration by Elena Volchkova

Hi everyone! Today is my day to talk about the dreams and inspiration. And it is the sea today. My new love - a collection Seaside Cottage. And the first two pages of it.

"Marine dreams" layout

In this work, it embodied gentle and romantic thoughts about the sea.. The sea always gives us great emotions, it is always waiting for us, and we look forward to seeing him ... waiting and dreaming.

The background is very complicated. I used the Embark paper as my background. And the mix of lace, twigs, beads. And paint, paint, paint!

Anticipation from "Serendipity Words 1" set was covered with Imagine Ink Lilac embossing powders.

Seaside Flourish was covered with mixture of Imagine Ink embossing powders in Petal and 14 karat, that so good together.
Flower from " Seaside Lilies" set.

To show the sun glare, I used Sunshine glitter. It's so sunny!

Seaside Flourish I cut into two parts and this piece has become accent in the corner. Colored to with mixture of Imagine Ink embossing powders in Petal and 14 karat.

Blue Fern Studios Supply List:
Paper: Seaside Cottage - Embark
Chipboard: Seaside Flourish, Ocean Mermaid, Serendipity Words 1
Imagine Ink Embossing Powder: Lilac, Petal, 14 karat
Glitters: Sunshine
Flowers: Seaside Lilies

"Family trip" layout

In this layout there is the story of one wonderful holiday, when a little girl was vacationing on the sea. Photos preserve for us the memory and emotions. This is so wonderful! You can always go back to childhood;)
I used the Voyage paper from the Seaside Cottage Collection as my background paper. And a lot of romantic and tropical details.

These flashlights enchanted me. They are magic! I wanted to use them together, just a little bit in different shades.

Large lantern was covered with mixture of Imagine Ink embossing powders in Honey and Mystic Plum. Little is also covered with a mixture. But other shades - Petal and 14 karat Imagine Ink embossing powders.

Stamps Forever and Postal Textures helps to make an interesting background.

"Reminisce" I covered to with Imagine Ink Mystic Plum embossing powder.

In this work I use the flowers of the sets: Attic Charm Daisies, Seaside Lilies and Attic Charm Glitter Roses.

Stamp: Forever, Postal Textures

"In the Garden" layout

Layout for a girl who loves to be photographed. In this work I tried to continue flowers of pictures in the background and in the decor. I think a bush was very interesting.

Petite window secreted in the bushes behind the curtains of lace. Window was covered with Imagine Ink 14 karat embossing powders.

I used the Serendipity Medley stamp with Imagine Ink 14 karat embossing powder to create some details on my background. They are almost invisible, but they sparkle in the sun.

"Reminisce" I covered to with Imagine Ink Mystic Plum embossing powder.
Sparkles on the background - Dusty Rose Glitter.

July share from Karine

Hi there, Blue Fern Studios fans,

It's Karine here with you today to share the three layouts I created this month.

Happy

My first layout was created using the Hushed paper from the Tranquility collection. I based my color combo on the colors in the paper. I stamped a few times with the Making Plans stamp.

My layout is based on the Crosshatch frame that I embossed with Imagine Ink auburn and garnet embossing powders.

To add more interest around my picture, I used the Ironwork Edges, that I embossed with a dark brown embossing powder.

As for embellishments, I used some Courtship Blooms dans some Attic Charm Daisies.

My title, the Happy word from The Optimist Word Set, was left raw.

Next, I got to play with the beautiful Seaside Cottage collection. For this layout, I used the Mermaid paper. I altered it with two different stencils and with two texture paste: one white, one a gorgeous sandy color. I also used a blue ink spray.

I choose the Persian Ornament to go under my picture. I embossed it with Imagine Ink snow embossing powder.

To go over my picture, I chose the oval frame from the Mini Frames set, which I embossed also using the snow embossing powder.

I used some of the Tranquil Roses and Lilies in my flower arrangements.

My title piece, part of the Funny, Giggle, Smile set, was embossed in snow. Look at this close up on the paper. Isn't it just gorgeous?

Magique

My last layout uses the Regalia paper again from the Seaside Cottage collection. I just loooooove this paper! On my background, I used the Postal Textures stamps.

On the left side of the layout, I used the Royal Border, which I painted with an aqua metallic paint. While the paint was still wet, I sprinkled some Imagine Ink pearl embossing powder and heat set it. I love the end result. I also used a speech bubble with a heart (I hid the tail of the speech bubble under my flowers) from the Picture Perfect set. It was given the same treatment as the Royal Border.

To frame my main composition, I cut one of the Classic Ornaments in half and used both pieces (painted and embossed) around my flowers.

I used flowers from the Seaside Lilies, Tranquil Blooms and Tranquil Roses and Lilies. The little heart shape above the large mint flower comes from the heart speech bubble from the Picture Perfect set.

My title is part of the French Adjectives 2 set. It was coated with white gesso, and then painted with cream ink.
