July inspiration by Tartine Peluche

Hi everyone!
I'm back to share with you my new layouts of month.

My first one is :

The young woman was silent ...

For this layout I have to work in layer, several paper of the collection Happy Accident,
a few paper cut and my chipboards.
I used Fortuity paper.
First my background is very simple a little cheese cloth here and there and some stamping with Serendipity medley and Grungy grid stamp.
In the foreground the title "Story" embossed with the embossing powder "Copper".
Under this one a chipboard of the kit "Spring Trinkets" embossed with Snow embossing powder, I then sprinkled with brilliant Burnt Copper.
On both sides of the title, the chipboard ginger's poppies embossed with Pink Dust embossing powder.
Which I cut in two and placed on two different layers under the photo
Under the top of the picture, we find part of the chipboard Holiday Deer
( No one said that deer live only in winter ... ;) But I removed the snowflakes from the chipboard.
I cut the chipboard so as to keep that central part for the top of my photo
the other two pieces of the chipboard are layered under the flowers on the right side of the photo.
I embossed them with Oatmeal embossing powder and distressed with light brown ink pad.
If we look again on the left side of the picture we find one of the kit chipboards Petite Boutique Frames.
I embossed it with the powder "Snow" then I made a crackle treatment and then I added pink ink to bring out the cracks.
Then I glued a piece of lace to the back.
I also used two deer from the kit "winter deer" I also embossed them with Oatmeal embossing powder and distresser with light brown ink pad.
I used small pink flowers from Courtship Roses kit.

Here is a few close ups:

My two others layouts featuring Garden Life paper

Capture life's moments

For the first of two, I used Felicity paper.
This background is a little more sophisticated than the first.
I started by creating my texture then I played with ink and stamps.
I really like the attached letter writing of "Serendipity Medley"stamp.
I used it with a black ink to create contrast.
Then with the chipboard "Shabby Brick Bits" I added a little more texture to my background.
I embossed it with "Snow" and applied a thin layer of blue opalescent paint.

To embellish my photo, I always opt for layers of paper, thus creating depth to my creation.
Between the different layers I added here, my flowers.
The daisy comes from the kit "Attic Charms Daisy" the roses come from the kit "Garden Blooms"
If you look on either side of my photo, I used a peony from the kit "Chesterville Blooms" that I cut in half.

As journaling for my layout I used few printed chipboards from Garden life
and "inspiration" come from Happy Accident printed chipboard.

Have you seen the new Rose Leaves chipboards? I love them! Here I painted them in green.
In the lower right corner of my page, there is a flower, normally white from Heartland Blossoms kit ...
A happy accident made him fall into my ink ... and became like that ... I find her pretty!

I kept the best for the end ... my butterflies! (Royal Monarchs)
First of all, I put white gesso, after I used two different inks, one green and one gold.
Then I made some white splash with gesso.
With a piece of lace that I inked with the same ink as my background,
I stuck to the back of my butterflies. I really like the result!
So, you know everythings ...

Blossom Story

For this layout I've not did mixed media background.
I just played with the paper ... I cut it,  torn it, and distressed it.

I started with the paper "Flower Bed" which I drew the flowers with black pencil.
Each of the flowers one after the other ... I spent the day ...
I've used almost all the paper in entire.
Each of the cut parts placed on different layers under my photo.

My title "story" is embossed in white and then half of the top is embossed in purple.
I used Snow and Lavender Eggs embossing powder.

Butterflies are stamped on a paper of "Spring Parade / May Vignettes"
I used "Bourbon Street" and "Spring Accents" stamps

The "Looped Frames" and "Quatrefoil Panel" chipboards are simply embossed in white with Snow  embossed powder.
The small piece from Quatrefoil Panel is embossed with Baby Pink embossing powder.
I also added chipboard Leafed Bough that I cut into several pieces. I painted this one in green.

I used several yellow flowers of the kit "Garden Blooms" but I removed the central
part of the flowers to keep only the petal of the bottom.

See my close ups for all details.

Merry Christmas for My Last Post- By Keren Tamir

Hi Everyone,
Its Keren here for the Blue Fern Studios blog for the last time.
After 3 amazing years being on the Blue Fern Studios Design Team it is time for me to say goodbye.
It was wonderful to be part of the team for so long and use their wonderful products.
I'm very grateful to have had this opportunity!!!

Here are my projects for this post!!

"Scandinavian Winter"

I created this 5x7 canvas depicting a scandinavian winter.

I used the Tree Trimmings paper from Vintage Christmas 2 collection for the background.
I embossed 2 of the Winter Village chipboard pieces and a snowflake with Icicle embossing powder and then added some gold glitter on it.
Once I glued everything I added some snow paste to enhance the winter feel.

<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>

"Winter"

I created this wintery layout using a picture of myself from a few winters ago.
I used the  back of the Holiday Cards paper from the Vintage Christmas 2 for the background.

I used the large chipboard flake to frame my photo. I cut the inside of the flake so I would have a space in the middle to frame my photo. Then I embossed it with Sea Mist embossing powder.

I used some shabby flakes and winter flakes to embellish around the frame. I embossed them along with the Winter title with Snow embossing powder.
I also added some snow paste to enhance the wintery feel.

 "Chritmas Cards"

Finally I created 3 Christmas cards:

The first one uses both the Vintage Christmas collections and the Dangle flake as an embellishment. The chipboard was embossed with Golden Bricks embossing powder.

The Second Card also uses both Vintage Christmas collections

To embellish I added some Blue Fern blooms and a Holiday Deer that was also embossed in golden Bricks embossing powder

For the last card, I used the Deer ornament which was embossed in 14 karat embossing powder.

I used some flowers and cheesecloth to embellish the card as well!!

Thank you so much for visiting Blue Fern Studios Blog

and thank you for supporting me for so many years!!!

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New year!!

Love,

Keren

First Christmas projects by Karolina Czajkowska

Hello all Bue Fern Studios fans!
Karolina here with you today sharing my November inspiration for Blue Fern Studios.

This time I have a very big problem with prepare anything for my inspiration, because Vintage Christmas collections are so beautiful, that I would like to look at them, and look and look, without cutting ;)
But of course i made a bold decision and finally I cut them all :D

Oh, Deer!

My first Christmas proposition in this year is a wooden shadow-box in a shape of a house. First I painted a house using chalk paint, then I could start to add papers and flowers and chipboards. I used a lot of chipboard pieces! I covered them with embossing powder - white ones with a "snow" embossing powder, the Deer ornament with "oatmeal" and a "antique gold" embossing powder and the Dangled Flake with three embossing powders - "breeze", "snow" and "frozen". I mixed it together in a small jar to make sure that it will be looking good, and then I put it on a chipboard. It's a great idea to make new embossing powders effects.

Christmas Cards

I really like to make Christmas cards. It's very sentimental for me because I started my scrapbooking adventure from exactly Christmas cards :D This time I prepared for you 4 cards with using Vintage Christmas collections. I think you can treat these collections like a one very big collection because papers are matching together perfectly.
