Merry Christmas for My Last Post- By Keren Tamir

Hi Everyone,
Its Keren here for the Blue Fern Studios blog for the last time.
After 3 amazing years being on the Blue Fern Studios Design Team it is time for me to say goodbye.
It was wonderful to be part of the team for so long and use their wonderful products.
I'm very grateful to have had this opportunity!!!

Here are my projects for this post!!

"Scandinavian Winter"

I created this 5x7 canvas depicting a scandinavian winter.

I used the Tree Trimmings paper from Vintage Christmas 2 collection for the background.
I embossed 2 of the Winter Village chipboard pieces and a snowflake with Icicle embossing powder and then added some gold glitter on it.
Once I glued everything I added some snow paste to enhance the winter feel.

"Winter"

I created this wintery layout using a picture of myself from a few winters ago.
I used the  back of the Holiday Cards paper from the Vintage Christmas 2 for the background.

I used the large chipboard flake to frame my photo. I cut the inside of the flake so I would have a space in the middle to frame my photo. Then I embossed it with Sea Mist embossing powder.

I used some shabby flakes and winter flakes to embellish around the frame. I embossed them along with the Winter title with Snow embossing powder.
I also added some snow paste to enhance the wintery feel.

 "Chritmas Cards"

Finally I created 3 Christmas cards:

The first one uses both the Vintage Christmas collections and the Dangle flake as an embellishment. The chipboard was embossed with Golden Bricks embossing powder.

The Second Card also uses both Vintage Christmas collections

To embellish I added some Blue Fern blooms and a Holiday Deer that was also embossed in golden Bricks embossing powder

For the last card, I used the Deer ornament which was embossed in 14 karat embossing powder.

I used some flowers and cheesecloth to embellish the card as well!!

Thank you so much for visiting Blue Fern Studios Blog

and thank you for supporting me for so many years!!!

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New year!!

Love,

Keren

Vintage Christmas inspiration by Marie-Eve Bernard

Hello,

It's my last post here.  The years flies so fast.  I was thrilled to be on such a wonderful Desing Team: a dream came true!  I enjoy every moment of it!  So, I wanted to inspired you a last time with the wonderful Vintage Christmas Collections.  I love Christmas and it's magic.  I add a lost of pleasure to work with those two absolutely gorgeous Christmas collections.

It's a Holly Jolly Christmas:

I use the Let it snow paper for my background.  I had laces between the layers of papers for a Vintage look. Just add a little bit of green watercolor to makes the layers pop.

For the frame, I first paint it green.  Then, I add glue to the berries and add the Fire engine glitters.  I did the same with the bow but with the Caribbean glitters.

I simply embossed my title chipboard with the clover embossing powder.  The color is just perfect!

Noel:

On this second layout, I wanted a snow effect on my chipboards.  I first cover them with white gesso. Then I add snow effect texture paste and glass bead gel.

I use the Greeting cards paper and cut the merry christmas and the tree image.  I add snow effect to my paper too.  The Christmas blooms were the perfect addition to the layout. I add snow on the flowers.

Sparkle:

My last layout is not with the traditional christmas palette of colours  but I love the soft feel of it.
I use the Holiday card twice.  One for my background and the other, I cut out some of the cards.

The soft blooms were perfect for this layout.  I just add them some snow effect.

My title was emboss twice:  First in pearl then in It's a girl.  It came from the Winter titles chipboard set.

All my snow flakes were painted with a clear iridescent ink.  I enjoy the result.  It just add a discrete shinning effect.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year with Jelissa

Hello Blue Fern fans!

Boy, has time flown. It has been 3 amazing years on the Blue Fern Studios DT and looking back, I'm really thankful for the opportunity to create with these amazing products. I'm so deeply grateful for Leslie's generosity and also being able to work with such a talented team of ladies. Today will be my last post for Blue Fern Studios, and I will be featuring the Vintage Christmas 2 collection.

We don't have a habit of taking traditional Christmasy sort of photos so I've always used more generic ones when scrapping for the season. This is a winter scene that I found so lovely and matched the colors of the collection quite nicely as well. I deliberately used the paper "Let It Snow" because both the theme and colors were so suited for each other.

Some details in the close-ups:

My title - Wonder word. I had used a few layers of Imagine Ink EPs here - Snow, Icicle and Sea Mist together with Blue Diamond glitter.

Some of the Christmas Blooms that I have used as embellishment.

The Stars and Berries Frame which I had altered with Mushroom and Oatmeal EP. The Large Flake chipboard which I had also covered with Frozen EP (it really reminded me of Elsa's beautiful blue gown!) and Blue Diamond glitter.

Blue Fern Studios products used:

paper: Vintage Christmas 2 - Let It Snow, T'was the Night
embossing powder: Frozen, Oatmeal, Mushroom, Icicle, Sea Mist
glitter: Blue Diamond
chipboard: Large Flake, Wish; Wonder; Dream, Star and Berries Frame

My second share is a video tutorial, and features much more of the festive and bright colors in the collection.

In my background, I have created a wreath with modeling paste and paints to complement the colors of the papers. Plus the fussy-cut elements here and there and the chipboards in the layers, it makes for quite a rich look without having to use additional embellishments.

some details in the close-ups:

Little doilies with Christmas emblems that I cut out from the "Tree Trimmings" paper. Tucked beneath are the Tree Toys chipboards which I had altered with Magenta and Grassy Knoll EPs and Phoenix and Summer Leaves glitter.

Part of the Stars and Berries Frame which I had altered with Oatmeal EP and snipped off for a slightly rustic touch. Hiding in my paper layers is a fussy-cut design from "Jolly".

Lastly, my title "Colorful Candles Burning Bright" which I had altered with Ruby, Ginger and Coral EPs and sprinkled with Autumn glitter.

Here is the video of how I put together this page:

Blue Fern Studios products used:

embossing powder: Oatmeal, Grassy Knoll, Magenta, Ruby, Ginger, Coral

chipboard: Star and Berries Frame, Tree Toys, Colorful Candles Burning Bright

3 layout with Yuko

Hello! It is Yuko.

Because I did not make it in time for my posting date in November
Posted on December 8.

The paper of Christmas that arrived was prettier than expected!
I made a canvas and 12 inches layout at once!

【PEACE LOVE JOY】

I made it with an A4 size canvas.
After applying Gesso to the base, color it with mist
Textured with modeling paste.

ICECLE embossed powder on snowflake chipboard.
This color is white with silver lame and is perfect for the coming season.

The title was unintentionally uneven on purpose as it would be a little antique feeling.
The white part was painted with Gesso and from there the ANTIQUEGOLD was put on a sparse and heated.
It became unevenness of nice feeling

Snow of fluffy is piled up .

In addition to Gesso, mist, acrylic paint, stickles, stone, glass beads etc
I have a look on it.

Mist- Winter Mint
Embossing powder - ANTIQUE GOLD/ICECLE

【IT'S A holly jolly CHRISTMAS】
I also used the paper of this frame last year.
It is really a favorite!
Just by using this paper as a backing sheet you will already be cute!

The red flower is a thing of this series.
Red flowers are indispensable for Christmas.
The white flower is also in the same series, but I took the flower core and put the grain of the gold.

In the background, I imagined the snow falling down
and attached a pattern with a dot stencil.

The title was embossed with 14 KARAT.
This embossing is also very sparkling and very beautiful !

The third one was made in the autumn series "memories" of the previous work.

【An AUTUMN Story】
This series is nice with a chic hue feeling like autumn.

I decomposed the leaf chipboard and divided it into leaves and branches.
The blades were painted with textures and lamels.

I put modeling paste in the branch part and added a texture
like tree to make it a dead tree style.

I painted the background texture with modeling paste mixed with paint.
