Two cards with the Bird Waltz Collection

Hello and welcome to the Blue Fern Studios blog.
DT Henriëtte here today sharing two cards I've created using the Bird Walz Collection.

On both cards I used chipboard pieces from the Bird Waltz set,
Blue Fern lace and flowers.

I colored the chipboards with inks and paint and also wax to give them some shine.

All paper edges are distressed and I've put brown ink on the flowers, laces and cheesecloth
to give them a more vintage look.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hugs, Henriëtte.

Taking a little family trip soon and thought this would be a great journaling card set, for my 3 kids...

Wanderlust and is such a fantastic paper collections for this type of project! I simply grabbed a craft envelope, stamped with a beautiful Blue Fern "newsprint" background stamp, added paper layers, plus coordinating adhesive shapes, directions chipboard, and lots of inking on this project.

Above is a close-up of the envelope. As you can see... lots of distress ink used on here from stamping to chipboard and on the paper edges too.

On the 3 little cards, more adhesive shapes and inked directions chipboard. I am very sure I will be using more of this pretty collection post-vacation!  Thanks for stopping by to view my project today.

Cards with Remnants Collection

Hello DT Henriette here today and I'm sharing two cards I made using the wonderful
Remnants collection.

I created two cards and both have multiple layers of patterned papers, chipboard,
lace and flowers.

For the "every moments matters card" I added the "Belfast bouquet" chipboard which I painted white and aged with brown ink.
Behind the chipboard is a flower from the Remnants self-adhesive chipboard shaped.

I also aged the Blue Fern Studios flowers with the brown distress ink.

On the other card I added a frame chipboard embossed with
oatmeal embossing powder.

I love this amazing collection especially the colors.

Cards for "LOVE" month - by Vicky Alberto

My name is Vicky Alberto (aka Simply Paper in the design world). After a 4-year break from being on design teams, I am thrilled to be designing for Blue Fern Studios for 2019... and that I finally get to renew my passion for paper art!  My blog address is http://simplypaperandcreativity.blogspot.com where I chat about my work, and share my various tutorials.  I describe my style as “a little shabby and a lot of chic”, with a vintage approach.

I enjoy working with vintage/romantic style papers and adore adding distressed layers, doilies, lace, stamping, and putting lots of flowers and chipboard on my projects.  Therefore, Blue Fern is a match made in heaven for me... since they have it all and more!

Sometimes my projects feature handmade flowers and unique gift boxes (all of my tutorials are listed on my blog - quick links in the right sidebar).  Also, my full design gallery can be viewed at http://www.scrapbook.com/profiles/444271.html.  Now, enough about me and onto the beautiful elements I designed with this month...

The first card features a mix of the gorgeous Heartland and Homespun collections, plus love story adornments & 2 hearts set chipboards.  On the chipboard, I primed with gesso, glazed with a glass beads medium and then sprinkled BF pink embossing powder (before it dried).  Look at the gorgeous flowers and adhesive shapes that coordinate with the paper collections... wow Blue Fern makes designing so easy!  The only thing from my own "stash" is that cute heart paper doily.

The second card features once again a mix of the beautiful Heartland and Homespun collections, plus love letters chipboard.  On this chipboard piece, I simply randomly dabbed gesso to leave exposed raw chipboard.  I then dabbed a bit of clear glue and quickly sprinkled blue BF embossing powder (before it dried).  The only thing from my "stash" is the circle paper doily.  More gorgeous BF flowers that perfectly matched this project are featured here!

Thanks for taking the time to view my projects today.  I cannot wait to create more and share new projects soon.  Blue Fern is a real treat to design for since there are so many amazing elements to design with, that all perfectly coordinate.  Blue Fern is truly one stop shopping!

Vintage Christmas cards...

Hello! If you are in the process to make your Christmas cards and you are thinking how to make them without much dimension and easy to mail, I'm going to share with you four cards that I made thinking in those two things. I worked with the Vintage Christmas 2 collection.

 Merry Christmas-card #1
This collection are so beautiful that you don't need much to create a cute card. I just cut out some of the image and around the design to make my scene. I added textures with a stencil with  gel medium and glitter.

I added lace and a bow of twine for a Shabby Chic look.
 Jolly-card #2
Here I worked the background with lot of textures, I made white paint splatter to create a snow effect. I cut out the adorable image is from one of the papers and  I tear the white paper to recreate the snow and make my scene.

The title Jolly is from the Holidays cards paper.

I worked the background  with white paint splatters and added textures with gel medium, glitter and a stencil. The adorable image of  Santa and the flowers were cut  from the papers.

I framed the card with lace and added one flowers from  the new soft blooms.
 A Merry Christmas- card#4
In this card I painted the chipboard with distress ink to create a colorful village, I combined the colors with the paper. I also tear the white paper to create the snow hills effect.
I used modeling paste with a stencil to create the snow effect.

I hope you find inspiration to create cards without dimension.  Thanks for stopping by..until next time!

First Christmas projects by Karolina Czajkowska

Hello all Bue Fern Studios fans!
Karolina here with you today sharing my November inspiration for Blue Fern Studios.

This time I have a very big problem with prepare anything for my inspiration, because Vintage Christmas collections are so beautiful, that I would like to look at them, and look and look, without cutting ;)
But of course i made a bold decision and finally I cut them all :D

Oh, Deer!

My first Christmas proposition in this year is a wooden shadow-box in a shape of a house. First I painted a house using chalk paint, then I could start to add papers and flowers and chipboards. I used a lot of chipboard pieces! I covered them with embossing powder - white ones with a "snow" embossing powder, the Deer ornament with "oatmeal" and a "antique gold" embossing powder and the Dangled Flake with three embossing powders - "breeze", "snow" and "frozen". I mixed it together in a small jar to make sure that it will be looking good, and then I put it on a chipboard. It's a great idea to make new embossing powders effects.

Christmas Cards

I really like to make Christmas cards. It's very sentimental for me because I started my scrapbooking adventure from exactly Christmas cards :D This time I prepared for you 4 cards with using Vintage Christmas collections. I think you can treat these collections like a one very big collection because papers are matching together perfectly.
